When Brock Lesnar ended The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak five years ago, many believed that The Deadman would hang up the boots soon after.

Undertaker was 49 years of age at the time following the loss, and with his streak now done with, it felt as though there was nothing left to accomplish. With Lesnar providing some form of closure to the streak, it would have made sense for Undertaker to end his career on a high note.

But here we are five and a half years later, and Undertaker is still going strong, as he continues to take part in a handful of matches on an annual basis. Lesnar didn't end up retiring The Phenom after all.

While speaking with 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin on Broken Skull Sessions, Undertaker revealed that due to a concussion he suffered during the match against Lesnar, he doesn't "remember anything about that night."

Some would suggest that a serious injury like that would lead towards retirement, but Undertaker decided that he didn't want his career to end on such a note.

"Then it became personal with me...I'm not going to go out...my last match and not be able to remember it," Undertaker said (via Wrestling News)

It would be another year until the WWE Universe would see Undertaker in a wrestling capacity again. He faced Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 31 in a winning effort, and he proceeded to split two more meetings against Lesnar - at SummerSlam and Hell in a Cell 2015.

Many also believed that Undertaker would retire after losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33, but he'd come back to the ring one year later to squash John Cena on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Needless to say, Undertaker made the right call in continuing his career, rather than go out on a disappointing note following the heartbreaking loss to Lesnar.

Undertaker Has Added More To His Special Legacy

Since his loss to Lesnar, Undertaker has only added more and more accomplishments to his illustrious wrestling career. He's defeated down more legends such as Shane McMahon, Goldberg and John Cena, while doing his part in trying to help Reigns get over. For all of that, fans have to be thankful that he didn't end up retiring after the loss to Lesnar.
