The history of the NXT Women's Championship is an absolutely incredible one with some of the greatest women's wrestlers of all time holding the title. The likes of Paige, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair have all dominated the belt, and the lineage is very impressive.

However, while the women who have held the title deservedly did so, there are countless names who went through the NXT system who never got a chance with the championship, yet also deserved the spot.

10 Emma

Emma was involved in the first NXT Women's Championship match for a reason because she was more than capable of holding the title. Whether it was as a top babyface or during her second run as a heel in NXT, both times she should have held the title.

Her character was always fantastic and was one that fans would certainly get behind, and in the ring, she was a great worker. However, she wasn't given the big push that she deserved, which is likely why she didn't quite make it on the main roster.

9 Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss never even came close to holding a title in NXT, which was a real shame. Bliss is incredible at developing a character and connecting with an audience, yet in NXT, she didn't get that opportunity to showcase that.

Instead, she was mainly used as a valet for Murphy & Blake, which was a role she did excel at, but it did limit her from being able to compete herself. Bliss has improved drastically by being given opportunities, and that could have started in NXT.

8 Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair is the most recent female call-up from NXT, and she is one who made the move without ever holding the NXT Women's Championship. It's a real shame that she didn't get a run with the title as she was more than ready for it.

It really felt like the right time for her to get the title around WrestleMania 36, and considering WWE is yet to push her on the main roster, it feels like a huge opportunity was missed with Belair.

7 Carmella

Unlike Bianca Belair, Carmella never really came close to holding the NXT Women's Championship as she wasn't given many major opportunities. However, considering how entertaining she is there is no doubt 'Mella would have been a fun champion.

Carmella has proven herself on the main roster to be more than capable of holding a title, and NXT would have been a great spot for her to really develop further and showcase those skills as a champion.

6 Ruby Riott

Ruby Riott makes her entrance

Ruby Riott's time in NXT was far too short and that is perhaps why she didn't get to have a run with the NXT Women's Championship. Ruby was quickly brought to the main roster to create the Riott Squad to bolster the women's division but did so without getting a run with the NXT Championship.

NXT would have been a great proving ground for Riott, as she's such a fantastic in-ring worker, and NXT would have really highlighted that. This could have been a big game-changer for her that would have proven she's championship material, and she didn't get to do it.

5 Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose is another name who would have probably benefitted from being in NXT a little bit longer, however WWE saw star power in her and quickly transitioned Rose to the main roster where she has thrived.

However, she's a fantastic heel with a great look and superb promo abilities, which are all the characteristics that make up a good champion.

4 The IIconics

Prior to their main roster call-up, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce were starting to come close to the NXT Women's Title scene and it was a position they worked hard to get into. However, neither woman was given a run with the title and that's a huge shame.

As a heel pair, The IIconics could have brought something different to the title. Having one on the outside causing problems, they'd have been great heel champions, and with their fantastic promo skills, it would have been very entertaining.

3 Nia Jax

Nia Jax absolutely dominated in NXT, running through everyone who came up in front of her. However, she never managed to overcome either Bayley or Asuka to clinch the NXT Women's Championship.

It's a shame as she did deserve to have a run with the title, and being a monster heel could have really worked. Jax would have been the perfect person to end Bayley's run to then pass the title onto Asuka, but instead, she had to wait until her run on the main roster to get a chance at the title.

2 Nikki Cross

Nikki Cross has always been a great star in WWE from the moment she debuted, purely because she is such a huge personality. However, when the rest of SAnitY were called to the main roster without her, Cross became an even bigger star on her own.

She had some fantastic championship matches but didn't quite get over the line to secure the victory. It's a shame because she was certainly popular enough to have earned the opportunity, but the timing just wasn't right for it.

1 Becky Lynch

Without a doubt, the woman who most deserved to hold the NXT Women's Championship was Becky Lynch. Even though she was nowhere near the heights she is at now in terms of star power, Lynch was still a very popular wrestler while working in NXT.

She's the only member of Four Horsewomen who never held the title, and that is a real shame. She had all the talent to hold the title, and it was certainly something her hard work had deserved.
