Having taken place on July 13th, 2015, it's hard to believe that the "Women's Revolution" has been in effect for close to three full calendar years. Spearheaded by three of the "Four Horsewomen," Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, on the aforementioned date, the Women's Division in WWE is stronger than it's ever been today.

Furthermore, the Women's Division only continues to improve as the likes of talented competitors Shayna Baszler, Nikki Cross and Kairi Sane figure to make the move from developmental territory NXT to the main roster within the next year or two as well. The vast majority of women in today's WWE are unlikely to be forgotten anytime soon and many of them are to be etched in WWE history for all the right reasons.

However, this does not mean that their haven't been women within WWE's ranks that didn't make a mark. On the contrary, the WWE has had a number of women work for the company and appear on WWE programming that most fans wouldn't recognize by either name or face. Here, we take a look at 15 women to appear in WWE that most of its Universe definitely does not remember.

15 Kharma

via wwe.com

Billed as "Awesome Kong" in TNA, the former two-time TNA Knockouts Champion appeared under the ring name of Kharma in WWE well before the start of the "Divas Revolution." When Kong first appeared in WWE, fans had the impression that the WWE were finally beginning to look at the Women's Division as a division more concerned with actual in-ring talent as opposed to looks. However, shortly after Kharma had debuted in the WWE in May of 2011 at the Extreme Rules PPV by way of attacking Michelle McCool, she'd revealed to the audience that she'd be stepping away from the WWE ring due to her pregnancy. She'd return in January of 2012 as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, but would not appear on WWE programming after that point. Kharma's a case of "what could have been".

14 Joy Giovanni

via youtube.com

A product of the 2004 WWE Divas Search (a competition that the majority of fans and WWE personnel alike would rather forget), Joy Giovanni appeared in the WWE in 2004, 2005 and 2009. Despite finishing third in the 2004 WWE Divas Search competition, Giovanni was still able to land a deal with WWE. Upon debuting, Giovanni assumed the role of a massage therapist and that alone should illustrate why she's not exactly the most memorable woman to appear in WWE. She also had a very unmemorable feud take place with Amy Weber, who like Giovanni, is one of the most forgotten women to set foot in WWE. In another forgettable storyline, Giovanni was highly coveted by Luther Reigns, who tried to force Giovanni to go on a date with him. As a result, Giovanni aligned herself with the Big Show. With her having at least three storylines, it's not like Giovanni didn't have time and opportunity on her side.

13 Ryan Shamrock

via onlineworldofwrestling.com

How many of you remember Ken Shamrock? If you're a fan of MMA and/or were a fan of the WWE product during the era heralded as its most successful, the "Attitude Era", you're likely familiar with the man nicknamed "The World's Most Dangerous Man". Yet, his kayfabe sister, Ryan, is much less memorable. See, Ms. Shamrock debuted in 1999 and was gone in 1999 as well. Initially introduced to the audience as Val Venis' partner in an adult rated spinoff of Saving Private Ryan, Venis and the WWE put their own spin on the popular film to make it "Shaving Ryan's Privates". Yet, would you believe this storyline would pale in comparison to a storyline Ryan could've probably been placed in? "The Genetic Jackhammer" himself, Vince McMahon had proposed placing Ryan in an incest angle with Ken; but, it gets worse- much worse! At the time, Ryan and Ken were actually dating in real life! Maybe it was better for all parties that Ryan was let go in such a short period of time.

12 Nidia

via Tumblr.com

Let this sink in for a second- when Nidia was first introduced to the WWE audience, she was a contestant on Tough Enough. Not only was Nidia a contestant on the reality-style rookie search, but she was the first ever winner of Tough Enough and also the first female winner of the competition. Despite this, Nidia never really found her footing in WWE. Nidia's career primarily consisted of a rather odd alliance along with Jamie Noble. The two portrayed a trailer trash gimmick and considering the gimmick they were given, Noble probably exceeded everyone's expectations- including his own. Noble became Cruiserweight Champion during his time alongside Nidia, but Nidia never came close to establishing herself as a threat in the Women's Division. Nidia lasted in WWE for close to two and a half years, beginning her WWE main roster career in June 2002 and having been given her walking papers in November 2004.

11 Shaniqua

via Tumblr.com

A former college basketball player at Rutgers University in New Jersey, Shaniqua attempted to make it on to a WNBA roster prior to entering the WWE ranks. Having received a training camp invite from the Seattle Storm, Shaniqua (real name Linda Miles) had an opportunity to make a WNBA roster despite going undrafted. Unfortunately for Shaniqua, the Storm decided against signing her. Shaniqua appeared in WWE in 2004 alongside a tag team who are arguably even less remembered than she is. That duo would be the Basham Brothers, who are best known for being a part of The Cabinet stable, which was spearheaded by John Bradshaw Layfield. Shaniqua's gimmick was that of a dominatrix, and let's just say things in women's wrestling in the WWE were much different in the early 2000s then they are today!

10 Ariel

via sportskeeda.com

Upon first glance at Ariel, it's easy to think of two roles where her character would almost assuredly excel at. The first being the face behind the name of the ever so mysterious Sister Abigail. The second, being part of WWE's most intimidating stables today, SAnitY. Ariel was arguably doomed from the beginning a la the Funkasaurus also known as Brodus Clay. Initially, Ariel was to debut alongside Kevin Thorn. In what could of been a second coming of The Brood faction which featured Gangrel, Edge and Christian, it's easy to say the WWE clearly dropped the ball here. Ariel had no trouble finding work after being released from the WWE and wrestled up until May of 2017, when she announced her retirement.

9 Lena Yada

via wwe.com

Another product of the WWE Diva Search, specifically its 2005 and 2007 editions, Lena Yada first attempted to enter the WWE ranks in 2005. While she was amongst the last 30 competitors remaining, she was cut shortly after. In 2007, Yada gave it a second go and despite coming up short again (finishing in sixth place), she made enough of an impression for WWE officials to sign her. Yada officially only wrestled one match for the company in November of 2008. To make matters worse, Yada was released just one week later. On the bright side, Yada wrapped up her WWE career with a 1-0 record (a la former WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Nicholas, and the aforementioned Amy Weber); on the flip side, it's safe to say that Yada wasn't expecting to wrestle just one lone match upon entering the WWE ranks.

8 Andrea Lynn

via Sportskeeda.com

With Fandango parading along with Tyler Breeze as one half of the tag duo "Breezango,"it's hard to remember that when Fandango originally appeared, he was actually booked to be a threat, as opposed to the jobber he is today. Portraying a dancing gimmick which featured his valet Summer Rae, many folks may not remember Fandango's original dance partner, Andrea Lynn. Lynn, who never actually made it to the main roster, was a 20-year-old college student at the time, along with being a dance instructor, and she wasn't exactly a supporter of her role on television. Said when asked of the dancing she portrayed in NXT, she commented, "that's not dancing, not at all. That's not giving the ballroom world justice. I can teach people how to dance if they want to learn." In retrospect, maybe it's best she never made it to the WWE main roster.

7 Maxine

via wwe.com

If you blinked, it's likely that you never had the slightest clue that Maxine appeared on WWE programming. Having honed her craft in NXT from 2010-2012, Maxine was promoted to the main roster in May of 2012 as she teamed with "The Queen of Hearts," Natalya against Kelly Kelly and one half of "LayCool," Layla. By the following month, Maxine had parted ways with the company. On June 28th, 2012, Maxine revealed that she'd asked the WWE for her release so she could pursue other opportunities. By 2014, Maxine was back in the squared circle- albeit not for WWE. On the contrary, Maxine made her way to Lucha Underground (where she finds herself today) competing as Catrina. At just 32 years of age, it isn't out of the question to imagine seeing Maxine compete inside WWE's squared circle again.

6 Cherry

via bodybuilding.com

Question number one- how many of you remember Deuce 'N Domino? Question number two- how many of you remember Cherry? Arguably the most forgettable tag team and manager/valet pairing, Cherry appeared as the manager/valet for the duo in 2007 and 2008. The pairing ended in 2008 when Deuce 'N Domino relayed to Cherry that they no longer wished to have anything to do with her. Cherry's replacement? Here's a hint, she's married to "The Awesome One"! That's correct- none other than Maryse Mizanin herself. Regardless of one's opinion on Maryse it's fair to say she's had a fairly successful career in WWE as both a manager/valet for The Miz as well as a wrestler as she established herself as a threat on the "blue brand" for the majority of her tenure. The fact that Maryse's run with Deuce 'N Domino is a blur should let you know immediately that Cherry's was a blur as well.

5 Christy Hemme

via wwe.com

Not only is Christy Hemme almost assuredly more likely known for her time as a ring announcer as opposed to an in-ring competitor, but it's also highly likely that the majority of folks who are familiar with her know her as a TNA product. This is because despite Hemme having received her start in WWE in 2004 had left the company by 2006. Upon leaving the Stamford, Connecticut based WWE for the Nashville, Tennessee-based TNA, Hemme remained with the company for a decade up until 2016. Hemme served in numerous roles in TNA as an in ring competitor, a ring announcer, backstage interviewer and even as a member of the TNA Creative Team. FYI Christy, you may want to take TNA Creative Team off of your resume!

4 Carmella DeCesare

via wwe.com

Today, fans are more familiar with another Carmella, who just happens to be the current SmackDown Women's Champion and the first-ever Women's Money in the Bank winner, despite what James Ellsworth will tell you. Prior to the self-proclaimed "Princess from Staten Island" making her presence known on WWE programming there was another Carmella who was a part of Vince McMahon's roster. The wife of former NFL Quarterback Jeff Garcia and a former Playboy model, Carmella DeCesare clearly had the look that WWE officials were looking for. But, she struggled mightily in regards to establishing herself as a force on screen as a WWE character. She was in and out of WWE in 2005, and currently seems to be enjoying motherhood, as she's a mother of four.

3 Brooke Adams

via wikimedia.org

If you're only familiar with Brooke Adams, aka Miss Tessmacher in TNA, from her time in WWE, it's likely you're under the impression that she doesn't have what it takes to cut it in the ring. Then again, the likelihood of you being familiar with Adams' time in WWE is highly unlikely. Brooke's character is one that would have "no chance in hell" in appearing on WWE programming today. Alongside Kelly Kelly and Layla, the trio formed the group known as Extreme Expose, and let's just say basically any and all you need to know about the group is in the name of the group. Having first appeared in January of 2007, Adams was released in November of the same year. But, it's not like she did't find her footing; on the flip side, Adams was a three-time TNA Knockouts Division Champion.

2 Amy Weber

via youtube.com

She was a member of JBL's Cabinet during his lone reign as the WWE Undisputed Champion and longest reigning WWE Champion in SmackDown history. JBL's Cabinet consisted of Orlando Jordan, the rarely remembered tag team duo of the Basham Brothers and the even more scarcely remembered Amy Weber. Weber's tenure in WWE was so short that she was booked for one official match for the company against Joy Giovanni, which she won by forfeit, meaning she didn't actually compete. It wasn't that Weber was released- rather Weber actually asked for her release. Weber claimed to be unhappy with the company due to the pay she received and because she alleged that she'd been harassed by numerous wrestlers. Weber didn't even last in the WWE for six months as she'd only been on WWE programming from late 2004 to early 2005.

1 Kristal

via wwe.com

Arguably known more for being the significant other of Bobby Lashley during her time with WWE, Kristal even adapted the name of Kristal Lashley in TNA once she was released from WWE. Unfortunately, Bobby and Kristal's relationship did not last, as the couple broke it off in April of 2010. Kristal's most known storyline in WWE is probably her lackluster feud with Ashley Massaro. Playing an envious character upset by coming up short in the WWE Divas Search contest to Ashley. Kristal made what was supposed to be a big heel turn. Yet, this did nothing to help either Ashley or Kristal. Kristal was with the promotion from 2005 to 2007 and has been away from the ring since 2010. It's safe to say Kristal isn't thinking about wrestling any time soon.
