We’ve covered the story about comment’s Bayley made regarding her dream to headline WrestleMania, but Bayley is only one of the top women in WWE, so today we are going to look at covering the wider topic. Her comment referred to a desire to do it by 2019, and with Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar looking like the most probable main event for next years show, that leaves WrestleMania 35, which is certainly a realistic goal. With that in mind, let’s take a look at five matches that could realistically be the history one at WrestleMania 35, wherever that event is to be held.

This is the obvious candidate to be the first women’s match to finish WrestleMania. After their two historic matches at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn and Takeover: Respect, it seemed all but a certainty, but some recent average booking for the two performers has certainly left the aura of this match in doubt. Their characters and story haven’t been developed too much lately, but that can all be changed with a heel turn for either performer that fans have been begging for. If WWE can remain patient until WrestleMania 35, this could be absolute money. Somehow, the WWE have done well in holding off from this match so far, and it’s likely they’ll want to do it at least once before 2019, but if this can be a stipulation based blow-off, similar to their 30-minute Iron Woman match, it will certainly be worthy of such a historic spot.

Of course, the two matches that come to mind for this spot are the two that Bayley suggested, and while The Four Horsewomen are the obvious candidates, you can’t deny that the biggest star in the women’s division the WWE has on their hands is the undefeated Asuka. If she can stay undefeated until this point, you can’t deny her this spot. With Charlotte, who has been the unquestioned leader of this women’s revolution, this could be a fantastic match, and if the two could be kept apart until then, it would have the big fight feel that a WrestleMania main event needs. Plus, it could realistically be Asuka’s first loss in the WWE.

This match has already happened in NXT. Yet with the history that these four women have made together since, a rematch at WrestleMania 35 would certainly deserve the final spot. If booked correctly, it could go down as one of the best matches in the history of the event. Their first bout came before Becky Lynch and Bayley were established as the big stars they are today, and all four improved quite a bit since the point of their NXT Takeover: Rival match, and if the story can be told over a long period of time, it will be a huge encounter. They are currently separated by roster, but that can certainly change. If any match can take this spot, we think it should be this one.

WrestleMania 35 may be too soon for this matchup to happen, but if the WWE wanted to showcase two of their most talented performers in the main event, this would certainly be a sight to behold. It’s very early to call this one as worthy of the main event because we don’t know how either are going to go on the main roster, but it could be a fantastic story and an even better in ring bout. We know that neither of these two are the best female wrestlers in the world, as that belongs to fellow Japanese star Io Shairi, but the WWE seems to be pushing them both very hard. Though it’s unlikely this will happen by WrestleMania 35, when it does, it’s going to be incredible.

Bayley vs. Asuka

The main event of WrestleMania often features the top stars in the WWE, but what is much more important is the story. The ultimate underdog Bayley going against the ass-kicking machine Asuka, is a clear story with characters that we can all relate too. There has to be a lot of work done before Bayley is again at the level she was in NXT, but we saw their two bouts on Takeover shows, and they were absolutely fantastic. So if the WWE continued their story, you can argue it’s worthy of the main event. This is the least likely of the five, as it’s likely they will wrestle many times before 2019, but it’s an idea that could possibly happen.
