Whilst it might seem like a long way away, the reality is that WrestleMania season will soon be upon us with the Road To WrestleMania not being far away, kickstarting at the annual Royal Rumble.

Despite what some fans might believe, WWE does start creating ideas for major shows such as WrestleMania in advance, and whilst Vince McMahon may not have settled on what will headline WrestleMania 36, there is no doubt he has got some ideas for it.

With a stacked roster packed full of talent, choosing one match to headline the biggest wrestling event of the year isn't an easy decision, and within this list, we will look at 10 matches that are more than worthy of doing so.

10 The Rock Vs Roman Reigns

Some reports have stated that The Rock has quietly decided to retire from professional wrestling, but it really feels like there is one huge, obvious match still waiting for the People's Champion in a WWE ring.

That match would pit him against his real-life family member, Roman Reigns, in what would be a huge star-studded match that if WWE booked correctly, could be the perfect way for The Rock to actually retire.

With WrestleMania 36 happening in Tampa, Florida, not far from Miami, the location is ideal for The Rock, and this would be a huge match to firmly establish the Big Dog back at the top of the WWE mountain.

9 Becky Lynch Vs Ronda Rousey

Sure, this might be similar to the main event of WrestleMania 35, with Charlotte Flair dropping out of the equation, but this is the match that everybody has wanted to see and WWE has never given.

It almost happened at Survivor Series, but then Becky Lynch got injured, it almost happened at WrestleMania, but Flair was added, so perhaps in 2020, WWE will finally put The Man and Ronda Rousey in a singles match.

Having them headline 'Mania a second year in a row really isn't an issue as they are both big enough names to carry the show, and with the tension and hype between them, this could really be built huge, especially with their history getting factored in.

8 New Day Triple Threat

This match might not be one that would make everyone happy, with a large portion of fans hoping that The New Day never split up or feud against each other, but the prospect of a match between the group is something that could be incredibly interesting.

For this to really work, WWE would need to keep the WWE Championship on Kofi Kingston for an entire year, having the triple threat match be for the title, with this being a perfect opportunity to push Big E.

The former NXT Champion has all the tools to be a major main event player and having Kingston's own friend be the man to backstab him and end the dream title run would instantly make him one of the top heels in WWE history.

7 AJ Styles Vs Seth Rollins

Despite the fact that AJ Styles has been a major star in WWE ever since he arrived in the company, the Phenomenal One has yet to even come close to being in the main event of WrestleMania, which is one of the last big achievements he has in wrestling.

Styles is more than capable of headlining WWE's biggest event, and taking on Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship might be the perfect match to do it in, with the two men putting on a classic on the biggest stage possible.

WWE is determined to make Rollins the next big babyface in WWE, and they have several months left to make that happen, with AJ being one of the top heels in the company, this just seems like a match made for 'Mania.

6 Drew McIntyre Vs Seth Rollins

Drew McIntyre has always been seen as the future of WWE in the eyes of Vince McMahon, but at some point, the WWE Chairman needs to either give him the major push or withdraw to the fact McIntyre isn't going to be in a main event.

The Scottish wrestler certainly has all of the capabilities, from his look to his in-ring work and promo abilities, he now just needs to be given a strong storyline to push him into the next level.

Winning the Royal Rumble could perhaps be the best way to achieve this giving WWE several months to then build a strong storyline between McIntyre and a dominant Universal Champion in Seth Rollins.

5 Brock Lesnar Vs Kofi Kingston

There have been a lot of rumors and speculation that once SmackDown Live moves to FOX, Brock Lesnar will be joining the blue brand in order to provide a big name draw to the show to attract viewers.

Should the Beast arrive on SmackDown, it won't be long until he starts challenging for the WWE Championship, meaning he is on a one-way collision course with Kofi Kingston himself.

The New Day member battling to either defend or win back his WWE Title at WrestleMania is a storyline that everyone will get behind, with Lesnar being a proven WrestleMania main event star, more than capable of carrying the match.

4 Kevin Owens Vs Daniel Bryan

At the moment, Kevin Owens is white-hot in WWE with the company doing an excellent job of his babyface turn, with KO going from a despised heel to a beloved babyface within just a few weeks.

KO has wanted to be a babyface for some time in WWE, and he is certainly going to be making the most of the opportunity, and considering how talented he is, the chances are he is only going to get more popular.

Should WWE need a top heel to go in the ring and compete against him, then they need not look any further than Daniel Bryan, who is currently putting together one of the best runs of his career.

3 The Fiend Vs Roman Reigns

So far, so good when it comes to WWE's handling of The Fiend, with Bray Wyatt being the most exciting character in the entire company at the moment, with WWE fans being incredibly happy to see him every time he appears.

As long as WWE doesn't rush things and keeps The Fiend strong, rather than allowing him to be beaten as they did with Bray's original character, then there is no reason why he couldn't be in a top position come WrestleMania 36.

Working him up to the main event scene with a massive entrance for the Universal Championship, against Roman Reigns would be the perfect way to cement Wyatt as a top star, making up for all of the previous poor bookings he had.

2 The Undertaker's Retirement Match

Every year WrestleMania comes around the discussion of The Undertaker retiring on the show follows, but at some stage, WWE is going to pull the trigger on this one, giving fans a massive emotional WrestleMania moment.

It should have happened at WrestleMania 33, but WWE changed those plans, but as 'Taker starts to slow down in the ring, it becomes clearer that the retirement match needs to happen and it deserves to be on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

Choosing an opponent for the Deadman is tricky, with the likes of Bray Wyatt, Drew McIntyre, and Braun Strowman all making good options, with the opponent needing to be the future of the company.

1 Brock Lesnar Vs Braun Strowman

Sometimes seeing two behemoths collide in the middle of the ring is all that is needed for a perfect WrestleMania main event, providing a genuine big fight feel that is needed in order to draw in the audience.

Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman can easily provide that, and if WWE simply allows the two men to go to war inside the ring, then there will be carnage in the best way possible as the two men bring out the best in each other.

Strowman is a monster push waiting to happen and he deserves a run with the Universal Championship, and slaying the Beast at WrestleMania 36 would be a great way to kick things off.
