The second night of the only WrestleMania too big for just one night kicked off with a very surprising title win.

Night one of WrestleMania 36 started with one of four women's matches taking place this weekend, kickoff show matches excluded. The Kabuki Warriors defending their Women's Tag Team Titles against Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss. Another women's match got things started on night two and just like night one, a title changed hands.

Charlotte Flair's iconic music rang out around the Performance Center to start night two. She was followed to the ring by NXT Women's Champion Rhea Ripley and the pair proceeded to have a terrific match. A match that might not have been received as well had it been in front of 90,000 screaming fans, or if it had been the ninth match of a one night WrestleMania.

Ripley hit the Riptide very early on in the match and had Flair scrambling for the apron when she only just managed to kick out in time. Both Superstars focused on body parts and put on a match that Flair's father would have been proud of. The Nature Boy will have also been proud of the finish, although perhaps not many fans watching will be in agreement with him.

The Queen slapped the Figure-8 on to Ripley and after holding out for as long as she could, The Nightmare tapped out, losing the match and her championship. A shock result to many who were perhaps expecting this match to signify Ripley's arrival to the big time. Even though she lost, this match still did that in a way. Not only did Ripley prove that she can hang with the very best, but she put on an enthralling opening match at WrestleMania.

As for what's next for Flair and the NXT Women's Title, that's might be the most fascinating thing to contemplate coming out of WrestleMania weekend. Part of it will undoubtedly be so Flair can appear on NXT TV on a regular basis in an attempt to boost ratings. One thing's for certain, that ladder match to decided a new number one contender just got a lot more interesting.
