WWE as a company has been going for so long now that many families have been able to pass down their skills to their children and they, in turn, have made their way to the WWE as well.

Not only that but there are a number of siblings who have also been able to step through the ropes as part of the company and many fans have made the decision as to who the better sibling actually is.

Sadly, the wrestling business will always be seen as a competitive environment which is why legendary wrestling dads are seen as better than their sons and certain brothers and sisters are seen as better than their siblings, which can be dependant on title reigns and overall accomplishments in the business. There are many second generation wrestlers in the company right now who have been able to live up to the hype, but there are a number of others who have been unable to continue what their fathers began years before.

The following list looks at just 10 fathers who are seen as much better than their own sons as well as ten wrestlers who are considered to be better than their siblings who were also in the business. When it comes to second generation wrestlers, they will always have a shadow cast over their careers, but there are many who are able to live up to the hype that surrounds them while there are others who are unable to continue their family name.

20 Father: Ted DiBiase (Better Than Ted DiBiase Jr.)

via Twitter.com

The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase had a character that will never be forgotten, he was so successful in putting over his Million Dollar image that WWE gave him his own Million Dollar Championship, something that his son, Ted DiBiase Jr tried to bring into his character whilst he was in WWE too.

Sadly, Ted Jr. was never able to find a character like his father's and aside from his run with Legacy, didn't achieve much fame.

Jr. never made much of a dent on the business and decided to retire while he was still young so that he could concentrate on raising his family.

19 Sibling: Charlotte Flair (Better Than David Flair)

Charlotte is widely considered to be one of the best female wrestlers in the history of WWE, so it comes as no surprise that many fans also believe she is a better wrestler than her older brother David.

David had a brief stint in WCW before his contract was brought by WWE, but he only went on to make two less than memorable appearances for WWE before he moved on to TNA and then retired from the business back in 2008. Charlotte is a six-time Women's Champion and continues to push forward her father's legacy in a way that David was never able to.

18 Father: Mr. Perfect (Better Than Curtis Axel)

via imageevent.com

WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Perfect is still considered to be one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation so there was a lot of hype surrounding his son Curtis Axel's debut in WWE. Whilst Axel has been able to lift the Intercontinental Championship much like his father, he has been unable to rise to the top of the company the way Hennig did and has instead been lost in the mid-card for the best part of his career.

Axel will always be seen as a glorified jobber in WWE, despite him showing glimpses of the skills he has inherited from his father.

17 Sibling: Paige (Better Than Zack Knight)

via wwe.com

Paige comes from a family of wrestlers in Norwich, England, she was genuinely born into the business and has been part of it ever since she was a child. Her mother and father still run their own promotion in her home city and her brother continue to perform as part of it.

Interestingly enough, Paige's brother Zack actually had a tryout with WWE at the same time as his sister, but while she was successful and was later signed to the company, WWE turned him down.

Zack and Roy have since continued to wrestle all over the United Kingdom instead.

16 Father: Jerry Lawler (Better Than Brian Christopher)

via foxnews.com

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler is still a legend in Memphis, Tennessee and despite the fact that he had a heart attack live on WWE TV a few years ago, he still continues to wrestle at every given opportunity.

His love of the business was passed down to his son Brian Christopher, who formed one half of Too Cool, but even though he was an entertaining addition to the roster, he was unable to grab the audience's attention in a way that Lawler had all those years before and was never destined for the lengthy career as part of this business.

15 Sibling: Goldust (Better Than Cody Rhodes)

via wwe.com

Goldust may have been on the sidelines in recent years while his brother just presented his own wrestling show that could make history, but when all of their accomplishments are brought to light, it's easy to see how much Goldust has overshadowed his brother, at least as it stands now.

Goldust has always had a unique gimmick and something that really held Cody back in WWE was the fact that he was unable to find his identity.

Whether as Cody Rhodes or as Stardust, Cody just didn't reach his full potential in WWE, which ultimately led to him leaving the company to pursue a career on the independent circuit.

14 Father: Afa Anoa'i (Better Than Manu)

via deskgram.com

Afa Anoa'i was once one half of The Wild Samoans who were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2007. The Wild Samoan's were a duo that understood the business and were definitely ahead of their time, while Sika's son Roman Reigns is still performing on WWE TV, as the Universal Champion no less, so many of the WWE Universe will be hard pressed to remember Manu.

Manu was one of the founding members of Legacy but was shockingly released from WWE in 2009. Thus, the group proceeded with just Orton, DiBiase and Rhodes, and Manu was largely forgotten about after.

13 Sibling: Bray Wyatt (Better Than Bo Dallas)

via allwrestlingsuperstars.com

Bray Wyatt is a former WWE Champion and was most recently one half of the Raw Tag Team Champions alongside Matt Hardy. His brother Bo Dallas had a much better run in NXT than his brother since he is a former NXT Champion, but ever since he was promoted to the main roster he has struggled to keep up with Bray's pace.

Dallas has also had an issue finding where he fits in. His BoLieve character didn't work in the way WWE wanted it too and he has since only been able to push forward when he's part of a team; maybe this is why many fans consider Bray Wyatt to be the more talented brother?

12 Father: Dusty Rhodes (Better Than Goldust/Cody Rhodes)

via wwe.com

Cody Rhodes and Goldust have had to hard throughout their careers since they had to follow in the footsteps of Dream himself, Dusty Rhodes.

Dusty wasn't necessarily the best in-ring performer at that time, but he had charisma and he had heart and that is what won fans over.

Dusty went on to become a coach at the WWE Performance Center and was universally adored by wrestlers and fans so it was always going to be hard for Goldust and Cody to be able to emulate what Dusty had already achieved. Both of his sons had plenty of success in the business, but Dream just cast such a big shadow.

11 Sibling: Carlito (Better Than Primo Colon)

via wwe.com

Carlito came to WWE and won the United States Championship on his debut, he had an infectious personality and was untouchable on the mic, which has left his younger brother Primo in a tough position trying to follow an act that big.

Primo has joined forces with his cousin Epico and they are former Tag Team Champions but neither of these stars is able to break off as singles competitors in a way that Carlito could, which is why many fans have been pushing for WWE to bring back Carlito to help Primo and Epico to come out of the shadows.

10 Father: Scott Hall (Better Than Cody Hall)

via youtube.com

There aren't many wrestlers in the world who can say that they had the impact on the Monday Night Wars that Razor Ramon had, a deserved WWE Hall of Famer, Scott Hall's impact on the wrestling business throughout the 1990s was evident but he later became his own worst enemy and personal issues prevented him from going further in his career.

His son Cody decided to follow in his footsteps in recent years and one of his highlights was when he was able to join NJPW's Bullet Club, even though he has been unable to stand out in the business just yet, there is still hope for Cody in the future.

9 Sibling: Dolph Ziggler (Better Than Ryan Nameth)

via twitter.com

Dolph Ziggler is one of the most charismatic characters in WWE right now so it makes sense that his brother Ryan would want to follow in his footsteps.

Ryan was known as Briley Pierce in both FCW and NXT, which is as far as he managed to get on the WWE ladder since he was released from the company back in 2013.

Whilst Dolph has gone from strength to strength on WWE, recreating himself over and over, his brother was unable to adapt to the movement of the business and hasn't been seen in a wrestling ring for more than five years.

8 Father: Jimmy Snuka (Better Than Sim Snuka)

via time.com

Jimmy "The Superfly" Snuka may have had his own problems in his personal life, but when it comes to his work in the ring, he was untouchable. His daughter Tamina and his son Sim have since followed in his footsteps, but while Tamina has remained a part of the Women's Division in recent years, Sim had a much smaller contribution to the business.

Sim made his debut as part of a tag team called Deuce and Domino. It was a unique gimmick since there were no other throwback tag teams at that time but there was nothing that allowed Sim to stand out and many fans were completely unaware that he was Jimmy Snuka's son at the time.

7 Sibling: Alicia Fox (Better Than Christina Crawford)

via wwe.com

While Alicia Fox would never be mistaken for a legend, Fox is a veteran in WWE after spending more than a decade walking the aisle as a member of the Women's Division. While many fans wouldn't name Fox as one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time, she is a former Divas Champion and it appears that she managed to get much further in WWE than her younger sister Christina.

Christina was signed by WWE back in 2010 but only appeared as part of FCW and NXT before she made the decision to leave the wrestling business and moved on to other ventures.

6 Father: Davey Boy Smith (Better Than Harry Smith)

via youtube.com

Davey Boy Smith is still talked about as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time which definitely left his son Harry a mountain to climb when he opted to follow in his footsteps.

Harry made it to WWE just like his father and was utilized in a tag team with Tyson Kidd and Natalya where they were known as The Hart Dynasty.

It was a team that worked for a while before Smith opted to part ways with WWE and went on to a career in Japan. Smith has since returned to the United Kingdom and has since been unable to match the success of his father.

5 Sibling: Nikki Bella (Better Than Brie Bella)

via wwe.com

Brie Bella actually made her WWE debut a few weeks before her sister Nikki, but interestingly it is Nikki Bella who is considered to be the better wrestler. Nikki is still the longest reigning Divas Champion of all time, whilst Brie had a short reign with the title much earlier in her career.

Nikki has also become of the faces of the Women's Division after being victorious in the feud between the two siblings and coming out on top whenever Nikki and Brie go head to head, most recently at The Royal Rumble back in January when Nikki eliminated her own sister before being eliminated herself by eventual winner Asuka.

4 Father: Ric Flair (Better Than David Flair)

via wikimedia.org

Ric Flair is a 16-time World Champion and the only two-time Hall of Famer in the history of WWE, his son David attempted to follow in his father's footsteps, but it appears that he was too like Flair at that point and the fact that he had no personality of his own was a huge issue for him throughout his time in WCW.

Flair was obviously a hard act to follow and even though Charlotte has had a much easier time with it given her background in gymnastics and fitness, David wasn't fully ready to step into the family business. In fairness to him, WCW rushed him far before he was ready to perform in front of an audience.

3 Sibling: Roman Reigns (Better Than Rosey)

via wwe.com

The WWE Universe has been outspoken about their hatred of Roman Reigns over the past few years, but when it comes to his in-ring ability, it's obvious that he has shown signs of improvement.

Roman's older brother Rosey joined WWE long before Roman, but was never able to find himself in main event level of the company since his highlights include being a member of 3 Minute Warning.

Reigns is a former World Champion, a Royal Rumble winner, and a consecutive WrestleMania main eventer, he is less than a decade into his career and is only going to go on to bigger and better things.

2 Father: Bruno Sammartino (Better Than David Sammartino)

via wwe.com

Bruno Sammartino still holds the record as the longest reigning World Champion in WWE history and even though he didn't want his son David to follow in his footsteps, he decided to enter into the business knowing that his father's accomplishments would always be held against him.

Much like many of the stars on this list, it was David's last name that got his foot in the door and it was the reason why he was never able to create an identity of his own. Whilst David remained part of the business for a number of years, he was never quite able to emulate his father's success.

1 Sibling: Jeff Hardy (Better Than Matt Hardy)

via stillrealtous.com

Jeff Hardy and his brother Matt tore up WWE when they first signed as part of the Tag Team Division but it quickly became clear that Jeff Hardy was the death-defying brother who needed a stage of his own. Jeff is a former World Champion and despite his personal struggles, he has remained one of the most popular wrestlers in the world.

Matt's 'Broken Matt Hardy' gimmick showed that he has a unique mind for this business, but his brother is the one with the superior in-ring skills.

Right now Hardy has been firmly entrenched in the midcard title scene on SmackDown, while his brother Matt has been forced onto the sidelines with a tailbone injury.
