WCW was one of the biggest promotions in professional wrestling history. At one point in the '90s, it reached the very top and overtook WWE for well over a year, launching the Monday Night Wars and almost putting WWE out of business. However, by 2001, WCW found its doors closed.

Throughout this time, some of the biggest stars showed up and wrestled in WCW. However, several people worked in WCW during its existence that some fans might not know about. This included older veterans who showed up for a short time and some wrestlers of the future who got their starts on WCW Nitro before they became stars.

10 Christopher Daniels

In 2002, TNA Wrestling and Ring of Honor Wrestling started business and brought back some wrestling fans who missed WCW and ECW. One of the biggest stars who worked in both promotions was The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels.

He was both a part of Triple X in TNA and The Prophesy in ROH, but he also worked in WCW before becoming a star in 2002. He worked in WCW from 2000-2001 and appeared on the Jan. 22, 2001, episode of Nitro but botched a moonsault, injuring his neck.

9 Molly Holly

Molly Holly is one of the new inductees into the 2021 WWE Hall of Fame. She arrived in WWE in 2000 and worked as a member of the Holly family to win two WWE Women's Championship titles.

However, before she arrived in WWE, she worked in WCW under a very different name with a different look. She worked from 1999-2000 as Miss Madness alongside Macho Man Randy Savage and then as Mona.

8 "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka

"Superfly" Jimmy Snuka was one of the biggest stars in WWE for most of his career. By 2000, he was way past his prime, but WCW brought him in for a match on Nitro on Jan. 10, 2000.

This episode saw three WWE legends show up to fight Jeff Jarrett. These men included George "The Animal" Steele, who beat Jarrett in a Bunkhouse Brawl, Tito Santana, who beat Jarrett in a Dungeon Match, and Snuka, who beat Jarrett in a steel cage, where he hit the Superfly Splash.

7 Triple H

Triple H was one of the biggest stars in WWE history and now runs NXT, the best WWE show on television. However, before he arrived in WWE and became Hunter Hearst Helmsley, he worked in WCW under the name Jean-Paul Lévesque, feuding with Alex Wright and Lord Steven Regal.

After realizing he wasn't moving up the ranks in WCW, he moved on to sign with WWE and became a huge star.

6 Sabu

Sabu was one of ECW's biggest stars for many years. Most WCW fans know that Rob Van Vam started in WCW as Robbie V when he worked on WCW Saturday Night. However, Sabu also had a cup of coffee in WCW and actually appeared on an episode of Monday Nitro. He worked the Sept. 11, 1995, taping, where he wrestled Alex Wright. He put Wright through a table and later worked at Halloween Havoc.

5 AJ Styles

AJ Styles ended up as the best TNA homegrown talent and a multi-time champion, holding every title in the company. Styles then became a major star in New Japan and then won the WWE Championship in more recent years.

However, he also competed in WCW at the tail end of the company's existence. He worked as Air Styles in the tag team known as Air Raid and worked Monday Nitro on March 5, 2001.

4 Marty Jannetty

The Rockers were one of the most exciting tag teams in WWE in the '90s until Shawn Michaels kicked Marty Jannetty through the Barbershop Window and became a major star. Although he had a few bright moments after Shawn turned on him, Jannetty was lost in the shuffle.

In 1998, Jannetty showed up and worked in four matches on Nitro, beating a jobber and then losing to Raven, Perry Saturn, and Chris Benoit.

3 Jerry Lynn

Jerry Lynn was a big star in ECW and worked some of the company's best matches against names like Rob Van Dam and Lance Storm. He later won the Ring of Honor World Championship and became a backstage agent and a producer, remaining one of the most respected names in the business. He also worked in WCW under a mask in the cruiserweight division and was known as Mr. JL.

2 Wildcat Chris Harris

When TNA started, the first major tag team superstars was America's Most Wanted. Wildcat Chris Harris and Cowboy James Storm worked as a tag team and then showed TNA they had great chemistry and won many tag team titles.

Before TNA ever started, Harris worked a short-time for WCW in 2000-2001. He showed up on Monday Nitro in 2000 as part of R&B Security with The Colorado Kid.

1 Greg "The Hammer" Valentine

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine was one of the NWA's biggest stars long before WCW went national. He was part of the legendary Dog Collar Match with Rowdy Roddy Piper, one of the best of its type. He then went to WWE and became the Intercontinental Champion and tag team champions.

However, what fans might not remember is that Valentine showed up in WCW and worked on Nitro in 1996-1998, losing to names like The Giant and Lex Luger. He only won one match on Nitro, beating Macho Man Randy Savage by disqualification.
