The WWE Wellness Policy is something that the company introduced to try and make it a safer place to work and to guarantee that the wrestlers who are competing are of the best possible health. It's something that has caught plenty of wrestlers out over the years, with the three fails being something that can lead to a talent being fired.

While certain wrestlers such as Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy have infamously broken these rules, to the point where it has become a storyline at times, there are plenty of other wrestlers who have been busted over this that a lot of fans aren't as aware of.

10 William Regal

William Regal

Since William Regal is such a big part of the company behind the scenes, he is someone that a lot of people often associate as being the model employee. However, back when he was an in-ring talent, Regal did have a wellness violation. In fact, Regal often had many issues with substance abuse throughout his career.

The timing of this wellness violation in particular was actually poor for him, as Regal was in the middle of a big push in 2007 when he broke the wellness violation. Thankfully, Regal didn't continue on that path, which is why he's so trusted by WWE today.

9 Edge

Edge WWE Royal Rumble

Another WWE legend who is often seen as a model talent is the Rated-R Superstar, Edge. He is highly praised as one of the all-time greats and recently has been pushed massively as an all around good guy for his role as a husband and a father, and rightfully so.

However, in the past, he was suspended for violating the wellness policy, as part of the signature pharmacy scandal. He was busted for it in 2007, which is something that a lot of fans have since forgotten about.

8 Eva Marie

Eva Marie WWE Superstar

WWE's recent signing is also someone who has been caught failing a wellness policy within her career. This moment came back in 2016 for her, and it did take a lot by surprise at the time. Eva Marie as you'll recall, was being groomed for a big push on the women's roster.

However, because she was never one of the top WWE Superstars in the company, it is one that a lot of fans have forgotten about, but she did suffer from breaking this rule within WWE.

7 Andrade

Andrade in WWE

Andrade was actually pulled for a wellness violation while he was United States Champion back in 2020. Since he was holding a title at the time, WWE tried to not make as big of a deal out of this as the company normally does.

However, he still served his 30-day suspension as wrestlers have to follow after their first wellness violation, which is something he did even though he was a champion at the time. Andrade was released earlier this year from the company as part of WWE's massive cost cutting measures.

6 Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio in WWE

In the wrestling world, Rey Mysterio is truly presented as the ultimate babyface. Having never had a heel turn, Mysterio is pushed as a nice guy and because of that most fans don't expect him to have ever had a wellness violation.

However, Mysterio hasn't just had one violation, but he's actually had two. He was caught for substance abuse in 2009, and that happened again in 2012, which means a third violation would lead to Mysterio being let go by the company.

5 R-Truth

R-Truth is in a similar position to Rey Mysterio in that he is someone that fans absolutely adore and see him for the comedy that he brings into the company. However, Truth is another wrestler who was caught by the wellness policy checks.

Truth was suspended back in 2011, which was poor timing for him as he had begun being pushed at the time. However, Truth was caught for smoking synthetic marijuana, and that saw him suspended for 30 days.

4 Mike Chioda

He might not be a professional wrestler, but that makes the fact that Mike Chioda has been busted for a wellness violation even more surprising. Chioda was the lead referee for WWE for a long period of time, and he was suspended for 30 days back in 2011.

It's something that most people aren't aware of because seeing a referee missing for 30-days isn't something that most fans pay much attention to, however, that was the case for Chioda.

3 Robert Roode

Robert Roode

Robert Roode's wellness violation actually came fairly recently, back in December of 2019, which resulted in a 30-day suspension. At the time, he was teaming with Dolph Ziggler, but because he came straight back in after, it wasn't as noticeable.

Robert Roode was an experienced star by the time that he arrived in WWE, so it is quite surprising that he was caught out at this stage in his life, but it indeed happened.

2 Booker T

Booker T

Booker T was involved in one of WWE's biggest wellness policy violations in 2007 when the company caught a group of wrestlers involved in online drug shipments. However, because Booker did so much within his career, a lot of fans do forget that he was part of this situation.

He took his 30-day suspension, but he did suffer a second suspension as well, which isn't often talked about either. That's mainly because he returned to WWE and got straight back to business, helping to etch out a Hall Of Fame career, working both in the ring and on commentary.

1 Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns in WWE

Roman Reigns is now in the position of being the face of WWE (albeit now as its top heel) and because of that, he's not somebody that people expect to have failed the wellness policy. However, the Big Dog himself was caught out back in 2016.

There were rumors of steroids for Roman's violation, but it was since stated that Adderall was the reason behind his violation, which is something that a lot of people have forgotten. Nevertheless his suspension happened at a time when he was being pushed to the moon as the company's top babyface, which certainly made it a shocking moment to say the least. As a result of needing to serve a 30-day suspension, Reigns dropped the WWE Championship to Seth Rollins, who then lost it to Dean Ambrose on a Money in the Bank cash-in.
