There has always been question marks regarding how WWE Superstars would fare in a real life fight. History has taught us that being pushed to the top by WWE doesn't necessarily mean that a wrestler can replicate that same form in real life. There are plenty of professional wrestlers who are great in their profession, but may not know how to fight in real life. When it comes to WWE Superstars, most fans immediately assume that they would be capable of defending themselves if needed.

And while that may be true in most cases, there are numerous wrestlers who probably may lose in a fight against a fan. Of course that would be embarrassing since wrestlers are supposed to be tough, but not everyone has the same level of strength nor are they equal on a technical level. Some wrestlers are just actors who can perform high risk moves, but it doesn't guarantee that they could win any fight in real life.

But you also have many others who have impressive backgrounds prior to their wrestling journeys, making them tough opponents even when there is no ring in sight. They may have been accomplished MMA competitors or amateur wrestlers, meaning that they have learned to take out an opponent in so many different scenarios. And that's not to mention that WWE has some of the strongest men in the world working for them. Here are 10 wrestlers that fans could probably take in a real fight and 10 we'd have no chance with:

20 Could Probably Take: The Miz

via pinterest.com

For the past decade, The Miz has been one of the top WWE Superstars. Fans had doubts early in his career regarding his future, as he was dressed and acted completely different than he does today. But he has progressed in major ways to become arguably the best heel in the company. But as important as he may be in the WWE, and as impressive as his accolades are, that doesn't make him an intimidating wrestler.

He doesn't have the size or physique to make him a scary figure in real life, and that's not to mention that he was a reality TV actor before WWE.

Some wrestlers have athletic background or previously competed in amateur wrestling, but The Miz is really an actor who became a professional wrestler. And he became one of the best of his generation, but there is no doubt that many fans could easily beat him in a real life fight.

19 No Chance: Roman Reigns

via wwe.com

Since being picked by the WWE as the face of the company, plenty of fans have turned on Roman Reigns. He has been pushed to the top despite being boo'ed by crowds around the world, and he is on his way to headline another WrestleMania. And while fans may have plenty of complaints about Reigns, you can bet that none of them would dare to say them in his face.

You can tell by his appearance that he is someone that you don't want to mess with, and we can't see a scenario in which a fan may be able to take on him in a real life fight. Reigns has previously called out fans who were overly negative about him on Twitter, challenging them to say it to his face. And let's be honest, regardless of how upset you may be with Reigns' position on the card, you wouldn't dare step to him in person.

18 Could Probably Take: Matt Hardy

via wwe.com

Matt Hardy is one of the most over Superstars on Raw these days thanks to his Woken persona, which has exceeded all expectations from his days in Impact to WWE. But as impressive as his longevity has been in the industry, Matt has never been known as a tough guy. In fact, he had a reputation as being too emotional in the mid 2000s, especially when the Edge and Lita scandal broke out.

He is also another professional actor who doesn't have an impressive athletic background, and while we would bet that Hardy could handle most fans in a real fight, there are plenty who could still take on him. Being a successful professional wrestler doesn't indicate that you are untouchable in real life, and out of all veterans in the WWE, Matt is probably the one who would most likely lose a real fight to a fan.

17 No Chance: Chris Jericho

via wwe.com

Chris Jericho may not have the most impressive physique nor is he the most technical wrestler, but he is certainly among the toughest men to step foot inside the squared circle. Not only has his body been able to fight decades of wrestling, but Jericho has also proven himself to be one of the best in the industry.

While he may not be as large as some of his peers, not many of them are willing to step up to Jericho.

Years ago, his problems with Goldberg escalated to a physical fight in which Jericho had clear advantage by the time the fight was broken up. Jericho is much stronger in real life than he appears to be on screen, and he isn't scared of anybody. A few years ago, he also called out Brock Lesnar for hurting Randy Orton in the ring and was willing to fight him - not many would dare even talk to Lesnar.

16 Could Probably Take: Rey Mysterio

via youtube.com

Rey Mysterio may be the greatest high flyer of all time, but he has never been the most intimidating professional wrestler. It is mostly due to his size, as he is one of the shortest successful wrestlers in history. Mysterio's style isn't technical or powerful compared to so many of his peers, which makes him even less of a threat. There is no doubt that some fans would easily to take on Mysterio, especially if they happen to be larger than him.

But that's not to discredit him; he would likely be able to take on anybody that's his size. Mysterio has always gotten along well with his peers, so there haven't been any backstage fights to report to be able to tell whether he can fight in real life as well. But what we do know is that he would be an underdog in many cases.

15 No Chance: Dolph Ziggler

via wwe.com

Based on his appearance, not many would classify Dolph Ziggler as one of the most intimidating wrestlers. He has always been in great shape and yet never carried the reputation of a tough guy around - at least not among WWE fans. But Ziggler is one of the toughest Superstars in WWE today with an impressive amateur wrestling background.

He broke wrestling records for his high school and college, which should tell you just how good Ziggler is.

And while fans may underestimate him based on how he has been booked by the WWE, Ziggler would easily defeat most fans - if not all - in a real life fight. Fans always have plenty to say about Ziggler online, and while everyone may be confident enough to give their two cents all over social media, we would be willing to bet that all the naysayers wouldn't say it to Ziggler's face.

14 Could Probably Take: James Ellsworth

via wwe.com

What was scheduled to be a one time appearance for James Ellsworth turned into a WWE contract. After being squashed by Braun Strowman, Ellsworth was supposed to never be seen again on WWE television. But the crowd showed him support, which is why Vince McMahon chose to give him a role. And not only was he an important figure on the WWE roster for over a year, but he even defeated AJ Styles multiple times.

Of course that wouldn't be realistic in real life fight since Ellsworth would probably lose every confrontation with a fellow WWE Superstar.

As for fans, plenty of them could easily beat him in a real life fight as well. Ellsworth is far from a threat based on what we know about him, and has never given an impression of being a legitimate tough guy - which is relatively easy to see.

13 No Chance: John Cena

via twitter.com

John Cena ruled the WWE for a decade before he passed the torch to other Superstars after moving into a part-time schedule. And during his reign, fans always had mixed feelings about him. Cena obviously had a huge fanbase that made him the face of the company, but he also had plenty of haters as well who booed him out of the building and spread negative remarks about him. And while fans used to constantly chant "You Can't Wrestle" to Cena, it was safe to do so from their seat.

How many of those fans would have accepted Cena's challenge to get inside the ring and settle matters in a real fight? Cena is one of the strongest Superstars in WWE history and cannot be underestimated regardless of your opinion of him. And if Cena was to have a fight with any fan, we highly doubt they would be able to see him.

12 Could Probably Take: AJ Styles

via reddit.com

AJ Styles usually falls on the better category of any list that we make, but it's an entirely different story here. There is no doubt that he has proven himself to be among the best of his generation, and an all-time great talent. But being an outstanding professional wrestler doesn't make you a threat in real life.

AJ doesn't have the athletic background as so many of his peers do, and he is far from being the strongest.

But that's not to say that every single fan would be able to fight AJ in real life as we are certain he could handle the vast majority. But we could definitely see some scenarios that don't end in his favor after all, especially when it comes to fighting larger guys. It would be interesting to see how strong would AJ appear in a non-scripted fight.

11 No Chance: Brock Lesnar

via tumblr.com

If all the fans pictured above decided to team up to take on Brock Lesnar, they still wouldn't be able to take him down. That is because Lesnar is one of the toughest men in the history of professional wrestling. If his devastating Suplexes haven't convinced you just powerful Lesnar is, then perhaps his UFC run will change your mind. Wrestlers are often criticized for supposedly being unable to keep up in a real life fight, but Lesnar clearly showed that to be a myth.

He is an all-around athlete who has a background in everything from amateur wrestling to bodybuilding, which makes him an even scarier threat in real life. During his time with the WWE, Lesnar has had some altercations with co-worker - all of which ended in his favor, including an incident in which he easily handled Mr. Perfect in a real life fight.

10 Could Probably Take: Shane McMahon

via wwe.com

Shane McMahon has proven plenty of doubters wrong over the years with his in-ring performances. And while we know that he can take great bumps in the ring, we highly doubt that he can fight in real life. He doesn't have an athletic background, although he stays in decent shape. Based on what we have seen from Shane, it's tough to imagine that his soft punches could do any damage in real life.

Plenty of fans would be capable of taking on Shane if a fight was to break out. We have seen do some unbelievable spots in the WWE, but it's an entirely different world when there is no script. But that's not to totally underestimate him, we are sure Shane could win many battles - if not most of them. But there are enough scenarios in which we can imagine him being on the losing end, which lands him on this side of the list.

9 No Chance: Sin Cara

via wwe.com

Based on his WWE booking, you wouldn't think that Sin Cara is among the toughest Superstars in the company. He has never been made to look strong, and has served most of his run in putting over fellow Superstars. And when someone is constantly losing, it is difficult to separate WWE booking from reality.

What some fans may not be realize is that Sin Cara may be the toughest Superstar today, as he has had numerous backstage fights in his career - all of which he has won so far.

He isn't scared of larger or stronger wrestlers, and has stepped up to several co-workers such as Sheamus and Chris Jericho. Sin Cara may not have had the most memorable career nor is he the greatest wrestling talent, but it seems like he has experience in real life confrontations, based on his undefeated record backstage.

8 Could Probably Take: Sheamus

via wwe.com

Based on his appearance and size, one would assume that Sheamus is someone you wouldn't mess with in real life. But a further look would have you questioning that statement, it just takes a glance at his silly mohawk to realize that Sheamus probably isn't a threat when it comes to fighting. But that's not to mention that he used to act like a tough guy in the locker room until he was humbled several times on the hands of smaller wrestlers.

Both Sin Cara and Yoshi Tatsu engaged in a physical fight with Sheamus, and ended up easily taking care of business. Sheamus seems to be all talk with very little action, and given his history in fights, we would assume that some fans could also beat him in a real life fight even if they happened to be smaller than him in size.

7 No Chance: Kurt Angle

via wwe.com

When Eddie Guerrero made the mistake of attempting to fight Kurt Angle in real life, he was easily taken down before the scuffle was broken apart. Once Guerrero calmed down, JBL approached him to ask what he was thinking in fighting Angle, and Guerrero replied by calling himself an idiot. The two close friends would patch things up soon afterwards, but Eddie's reaction should tell you everything that you need to know about Angle.

He won an Olympic Gold medal with a broken neck - does it get any tougher than that?

And while he may be older now, Angle is still sharp enough to easily handle most fans who would dare to fight him. He is considered one of the toughest Superstars of all time, and could probably top any list of wrestlers that intimidated fellow co-workers since most of his peers wouldn't dare fight him.

6 Could Probably Take: Kevin Owens

via twitter.com

Considering his size and in-ring power, Kevin Owens would be considered by most to be a legitimate threat. But if that was the case, then he would have been a much more intimidating figure in WWE than he currently is. Despite being booked to look strong by constantly brutalizing fellow Superstars, some just don't find Owens to be believable since he doesn't have the appearance of a wrestler.

He is overweight in a sense and doesn't have the muscle definition to give an impression that he is strong. And while he may be very outspoken on Twitter, Owens isn't as tough in real life. But that's not to call him soft by any means, as Owens could handle most fights thrown his way. But there are many cases in which we could see him being the loser of a real life fight. Thankfully for him, his buddy Sami Zayn would probably come to his rescue again.

5 No Chance: Shinsuke Nakamura

via wwe.com

Shinsuke Nakamura is one of the wrestlers whom fans may underestimate in a real life fight since they may be unfamiliar with his history. He has a unique appearance and some incredible wrestling moves to match his style, but Nakamuara probably doesn't intimidate many people as opposed to fellow WWE Superstars. But he is reportedly one of the toughest in real life, and that's no surprise considering his MMA background.

Nakamura competed in MMA prior to his transition to professional wrestling, and had a record of 3-1.

The average fan watching SmackDown may joke about being able to take on Nakamura in a real life fight, but it is highly unlikely based on what we know about him. But then again Nakamura looks like someone you would want to hang out with rather than fight, so we may never know.

4 Could Probably Take: Jeff Hardy

via wwe.com

Jeff Hardy is currently preparing for his WWE return after being sidelined for quite a few months. Even at an advanced stage of his career, Hardy remains one of the most popular wrestlers in the world. And while he has always been over with the fans, it has always been due to his unique look as well as innovative style. Hardy has had several classic matches, and plenty of memorable hardcore moments, but it would be an entirely different story in real life.

He would probably be among the weakest on the WWE roster since he has been wrestling most of his life, and is far from being the strongest. And despite his many impressive moves, Hardy doesn't have a career in amateur wrestling or martial arts to make him an underestimated threat who could surprise most people. In many real life fights, there is a good chance that he would be deleted.

3 No Chance: Braun Strowman

via pinterest.com

For the past year and a half, Braun Strowman has been wreaking havoc in the WWE. He has destroyed everyone along the way, and came out looking strong even in defeat. Fans have also bought into the hype as he is current among the most over Superstars on the roster.

Most fans would probably never even think about attempting to fight Strowman in real life because that is a disaster waiting to happen.

Prior to his WWE days, Strowman was an accomplished strongman, which tells us that his strength is far more real than we believe. WWE surely loves to exaggerate matters to make him look like "The Monster Among Men" but Strowman is as tough as it gets. And he could give the strongest Superstars in WWE history a good run for their money. As for a real life fight, there would only be one realistic outcome.

2 Could Probably Take: Daniel Bryan

via wwe.com

Everyone was excited about the news of Daniel Bryan being cleared to return to the squared circle. He is one of the most popular Superstars of the past few years with a huge following that makes it tough to imagine a scenario in which he would engage in a fight with a fan. But stranger things have happened as we have seen many wrestlers clash with fans over the years. And while it may not have led to lengthy fight, it does make us wonder whether all Superstars can easily defend themselves in real life.

As for Daniel Bryan, he could probably come out victorious in plenty of battles but there are certainly some scenarios where he would be on the losing end. It's a good thing that Bryan doesn't have too many haters so he won't be risking his WWE future in a potential real life fight.

1 No Chance: The Rock

via bostonherald.com

Being one of the most popular Superstars of all time as well as a successful Hollywood star these days, we can't imagine a world in which a wrestling fan would want to fight The Rock. But then again, even if The Rock was to get into a confrontation with someone, we all know how that would end. He may not have had backstage altercations nor does he attempt to be a tough guy, but The Rock is one of the strongest wrestlers in the business.

He has become a worldwide icon for his physique and impressive muscles. Even if he doesn't have much experience in street fighting, it's a safe bet that The Rock could lay the SmackDown at any given time. At 6'5", not many fans would even think about approaching The Rock - even if we were to ignore all the muscles.
