The moonsault has proven to be a popular wrestling move over the years and is one that countless wrestlers have bust out over the course of their careers. When it's hit right, this is one of the most beautiful moves possible.

Whether it's done to the outside of the ring or in the ring, the move always looks great, but not every wrestler has managed to perfect it. However, over the years, there have been some great examples of moonsaults with certain wrestlers really hitting this move brilliantly.

10 Matt Hardy

Broken Matt Hardy

Many wrestling fans often look to Jeff Hardy as the one who can hit highflying moves when it comes to these two brothers. But that doesn't mean that Matt Hardy can't hit certain moves himself.

One that he would often bust out, in particular, was the moonsault. Matt may not have used the move all the time, but it always looked great when he did it, nailing the execution to make it look fantastic.

9 Charlotte Flair

Nobody busts out the moonsault more frequently than Charlotte Flair nowadays, and the fact she does it so frequently has hurt the move for her. She doesn't always nail it perfectly, and a lot of that is down to how tall she is.

It's much harder to hit the move when you're taller, but Charlotte does make the move look good. She still makes the list of 10 best, and it is always a big deal when she hits it, but Charlotte would benefit from doing it more sparingly for bigger moments.

8 Vader

Speaking of someone who is much bigger than the average wrestler, Vader was also someone who would bust out the moonsault from time to time. He wasn't the most agile person to hit the move, but the fact he could do it alone made audiences go wild.

Someone of his size has no right to hit a moonsault, yet Vader was able to. It's things like this agility that helped make him stand out from the roster and allowed him to be a truly special talent.

7 Lita

Lita was always well ahead of the curve when it came to her in-ring ability. She was hitting unbelievable highflying moves long before it was commonplace for the women of WWE to do so, and one of those was the moonsault.

As part of Team Xtreme, she often hit the move on a range of talents, and every time she did it, the audience would go wild. Even when she returned to boost the women's evolution, Lita was still hitting this move and making it look great.

6 Cody Rhodes

Cody is the most athletic member of the Rhodes family, and because of that, it allows him to hit moves such as the moonsault. Cody doesn't do it all the time, and cherry-picks his moments, which ensures they always feel like a big deal.

Cody's moonsault always looks great, and he also has no problem leaping off the top of a steel cage to hit the move either. He's done it countless times throughout his career in WWE, AEW, and the independent scene, and the spectacle is always amazing.

5 Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle might be notorious for his incredible technical skills and his mat-based wrestling thanks to his amateur career, but he was also agile. He could hit highflying moves such as the moonsault, and that's one of the reasons he was so good.

Angle's moonsault always looked good as he got tons of height on the move, making a big impact on the landing. The fact he didn't do the move all the time also helped as it was always a big deal when he hit it.

4 Shawn Michaels

There is nothing that Shawn Michaels can't do really, so it's no surprise that he had one of the best moonsaults of all time. The Heartbreak Kid made everything he did look smooth, and his moonsault was no exception.

He'd quite often make the move look even more exciting by flying from the top rope to the outside, crashing through the announce table, which gives even more impact.

3 Christopher Daniels

Christopher Daniels is an incredibly experienced wrestler, and he has always been very gifted inside the ring. He makes everything look technically sound, and the moonsault has always been in his arsenal.

He would use the move frequently, and it always looked good. While he had one slip up with this recently on AEW Dynamite, that doesn't stop his being one of the best of all time.

2 The Great Muta

While he might not have broken out as a WWE Superstar at any stage in his career, The Great Muta is one of the best professional wrestlers of all time. He was very creative inside the ring, and one move that he often brought to the dance was the moonsault.

He helped make the move incredibly popular, and it always looked absolutely incredible when he hit it. The Great Muta was always a highflying wrestler who was technically very sound, so it's no surprise his moonsault was perfect.

1 Io Shirai

When it comes to the wrestler with the best moonsault, it's almost impossible to look past Io Shirai. The NXT Superstar busts out the move on quite a regular occurrence, but it always looks perfect.

Io Shirai often leaps out of the ring to the floor, which makes the move look perfect, seemingly hanging the air far longer than anyone else who hits the move. It looks amazing, and she has certainly set the bar when it comes to this one.
