Most fans thought that the in-ring career of Bill Goldberg was over when he was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame following an impressive run with the company where he became Universal Champion.

Many believed his last match would be the fantastic bout he had against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33, which felt like a perfect way for him to hang up his boots. Yet the Hall Of Famer competed again recently at Super ShowDown against The Undertaker.

Sadly, the match didn't go well with plenty of botches taking place and it left many fans questioning whether they wanted to see either man wrestle again, but that was not the match that any legend would want to retire on.

With Goldberg still not stating he was officially retired following his poorly received match against The Undertaker the chances are that he still has one more Jackhammer in him and possibly an official retirement match.

This would make sense for WWE too as the company would be able to promote the retirement angle which always goes down well with fans. But who would be the perfect person to finally end Goldberg's incredible career?

10 Sami Zayn

Ever since he has been on the main roster, Sami Zayn has always been on the cusp of being in the main event scene but has yet to actually breakthrough. Instead, Zayn has spent most of his time in the mid-card.

However, since returning from injury his new character has really taken off, with Zayn seemingly becoming the voice of Vince McMahon as he calls out the WWE Universe on their falsehood and lies as openly as possible.

Because fans often do complain about legends returning, having Zayn come out and speak about it could be a unique angle to take on the storyline, eventually putting Sami in Goldberg's final match. Not only could Sami put on a fantastic match with Goldberg, but the victory would really benefit him as a performer.

9 Baron Corbin

The idea of this might be something that makes a fans eye roll, but Baron Corbin is one of the most legitimate heels that WWE has on its roster right now, and he is someone who would really benefit from ending Goldberg's career.

Top heels are something that every wrestling company needs to make engaging storylines and Corbin is exactly that. Bringing an end to Goldberg's career is only going to make the fans dislike him more.

8 Braun Strowman

He might not be in the main event scene as much anymore, which has mainly been down to poor booking and decision making on WWE's behalf. But if the company really pushed him again then there is no reason he couldn't get back to where he was last summer.

Goldberg always works best when he meets someone who can match him for power and Strowman can certainly do that. Neither man would need to pull off anything flashy or overly complicated, but they could certainly tear the house down with a huge fight.

Whether you book Strowman as the monster heel wanting to end Goldberg or as a babyface who respects the Hall Of Famer, the victory could do wonders for Strowman's career, with Goldberg passing the torch on.

7 Brock Lesnar

This might be a match that WWE has done several times, including one of Goldberg's most recent matches at WrestleMania 33, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be worth doing one more time.

In terms of WWE, Brock Lesnar is Goldberg's greatest rival. The two men had some incredibly fun matches (let's not think about WrestleMania 20) and know each other's strengths.

Their WrestleMania 33 match was a fantastic bout. Neither man is going to be putting on an in-ring classic, but working some top power moves with fantastic selling makes it a big fight that is worth seeing one last time.

6 The Undertaker

Having just seen the disastrous main event at Super ShowDown the idea of having another match between Goldberg and The Undertaker might seem like a ridiculous idea at first. However, a potential rematch between them would likely be a much better match.

Goldberg suffered a concussion during the match when he ran head first into the ring post which was a major factor in the mistakes that happened. The chances of that happening again are very slim, and therefore they would likely give the fans the match that they were hoping to see.

The anticipation for the match was high with two legends facing off for the first time, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. Putting both careers on the line would be an interesting storyline to make this match happen, having it be much shorter and more impactful.

5 Undisputed Era

They are quite possibly the most entertaining faction in WWE right now, but only those who watch NXT are aware of who they are. WWE has had mixed success with NXT call-ups, and a lot of that is down to the booking that the talent receives.

Triple H is clearly a big fan of the group, hence why they have had so much success in the black and yellow brand and hopefully that means they will be looked after on the main roster.

A good way to introduce them would be having them attack the WWE Hall Of Famer using their numbers advantage.

4 Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt has always had incredible ability, both inside the ring and on the microphone. What has let him down and stopped him from becoming a megastar has been WWE's inability to book him correctly.

However, with his new character, things seem to be looking upwards, with WWE seemingly creating a brand new monster to replace the roles that Kane and Undertaker left behind, which could create some fantastic television.

If WWE really wants to go all the way with it though, they would need to give Wyatt some big wins. So why not make this character a true monster, ending the career of a legend that will instantly help re-establish him.

3 Lars Sullivan

Lars Sullivan has had a bumpy ride on the main roster so far. Being promoted for months and then not turning up due to reported anxiety issues, Sullivan's debut was also ruined by comments he made in his past, leading him to be fined $100,000 by the company.

However, it is clear that Vince McMahon sees something in him, and considering his look it is obvious to see why. WWE is building him as a monster so far, but beating the likes of The Lucha House Party is only going to take him so far.

If WWE really wants to put Sullivan on the map, then the company needs to have him beat somebody that will really make an impact.

2 Kevin Owens

Whilst Goldberg's last full-time run with WWE was much better than people first anticipated there was one element of it that was frustrating to people, which was the fact that Kevin Owens really suffered for Goldberg's benefit.

KO's Universal Championship reign was cut short by Goldberg who defeated him at Fastlane in what was effectively a squash match, with Owens being comfortably defeated by the WCW legend.

What better way for Owens to get revenge than to be the one who brings an end to Goldberg's career? The storyline is already there and it would help rebuild Owens to being one of the top heels in the company once again.

1 Matt Riddle

During Goldberg's recent return NXT Superstar, Matt Riddle made it pretty clear that he isn't the biggest fan of the WWE Hall Of Famer. Riddle held nothing back in calling out Goldberg on Twitter for being unsafe and it certainly got the wrestling world talking.

Even though the King Of Bros has always made it clear he wants to be the one to retire Brock Lesnar, that doesn't mean he can't bring an end to Goldberg's career first, especially now there is a real-life issue between them.

What better way could WWE introduce Matt Riddle to the main roster fans than by having him come in and retire a Hall Of Fame legend. Because of Riddle's strength, he could easily go toe-to-toe with Goldberg in a match packed with power moves which would help establish a star for the future.
