WWE began promising a "new era" during the 2018 holiday season. Vince McMahon came out and said that they have been listening to the fans and would start to implement changes to give them what they have been asking for. Knowing this wasn't something that could be fixed instantly, the company started to build some storylines that will climax at WrestleMania 35.

Most expect the changes to finally be in place by that event and the new era to officially start from that point on. However, with that in mind, a new era needs fresh talent leading the way. After years of Brock Lesnar holding down the Universal title by making it a part-time concern, it has to start with bringing that title back to television. That is exactly where the new era needs to begin.

10 SETH ROLLINS

Seth Rollins is the man battling Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35. If Lesnar wins that match, don't expect anything to change at all coming out of WrestleMania. By that token, Seth Rollins has to win and he needs to be the man leading the new era in a positive direction.

No, Rollins is not a new face and yes, he is a former world champion. However, he has never run with the world title as a babyface and he could be the perfect man to bring the title home to Raw, bring it to television every week, and help build the new era of heel challengers.

9 FINN BALOR

It may be hard to believe, but outside of Seth Rollins, no man on the WWE main roster won more matches in 2018 than Finn Balor. He barely used his demon persona and just won and won and won. However, what he didn't do was win titles. Already in 2019, Balor won the Intercontinental title but lost it again just as quickly.

It is time for Finn Balor to stop languishing around the mid-card and to start working the main event scene. He is talented enough and if he pulls out the demon persona from time-to-time, he could be a massive star. WWE needs to trust in Finn Balor.

8 DREW MCINTYRE

When it comes to great babyfaces, there is a need for dangerous heels. No one fits that description better than Drew McIntyre. He was supposed to be the next big thing for WWE in 2019 but just as suddenly, he was thrown into a feud with Braun Strowman as part of a faction with Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley. McIntyre deserved more.

The good news is that WWE had him destroy Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose on Monday Night Raw last week as they build him up for WrestleMania 35. The rumor is that he will wrestle Roman Reigns and McIntyre needs to win that match and become Seth Rollins' first major contender.

7 TOMMASO CIAMPA

Right now, Tommaso Ciampa is the NXT champion, but it sounds like he will lose the title due to surgery he just underwent. When Ciampa returns, he should bypass NXT and move straight to the main roster. He is similar to Drew McIntyre as a pitch-perfect heel, someone who makes fans hate him for just being himself.

Ciampa is someone that can slip up to the main roster and become the ultimate villain. He has that "IT" factor that men like Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jake "The Snake" Roberts had and he can become the most dangerous heel on either roster and should be a main event star for the new era for years.

6 VELVETEEN DREAM

There is a danger with bringing up Velveteen Dream. The biggest danger is that Vince McMahon loves to use gimmicks like this for just comedic purposes and turns them into jobbers almost as quick as he debuts them on the roster. However, unlike Tyler Breeze, Dream has the size that WWE loves. Unlike Fandango, Dream has a ton of charisma and is a great promo.

Velveteen Dream could be the next Goldust -- someone who comes on the scene, makes his opponents squirm while poking the fans with a stick, and then turning in the quality of matches that makes everyone a fan of his work. Dream should be a major star. He just has more hurdles to overcome.

5 BECKY LYNCH

Becky Lynch did the impossible. She entered a feud with Charlotte Flair last year and made the entire WWE Universe believers. She started cutting promos that had everyone excited and proved time and time again that her in-ring work was as good as, if not better than the best in the company. Lynch was the hottest star in WWE.

The problem is that WWE complicated the storyline, pulled off an amazing Ronda Rousey heel turn, oversaturated the feud by putting Lynch on Raw and SmackDown and cooled down her reactions. WWE needs to pull back some and play its cards right because Becky Lynch is the best thing going today.

4 ASUKA

Asuka should have been booked as a monster from the moment that she arrived on the main WWE roster. She was undefeated in NXT and left without losing her title. When she arrived, she kept running through wrestlers and still looked dominant. However, after she lost to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania, she seemed to disappear.

Asuka won more matches than any other woman in WWE last year, but she had nothing to show for it. Finally, she won the SmackDown Live women's title in a three-way against Flair and Becky Lynch but then missed out on PPV appearances after that. WWE needs to stop ignoring Asuka because she is someone who can really change the landscape of WWE if given the chance.

3 SHAYNA BASZLER

Shayna Baszler is the most dominating force in NXT. She might be the most dominating female in the entire WWE. Unlike Asuka, who is also dominant, Baszler looks the role. She is even, arguably, more of a dominating presence than her friend and fellow Four Horsewomen partner Ronda Rousey.

At the end of the day, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler could realistically rule the women's division. In a better world, when Rousey decides to leave WWE for good, Baszler could be the woman to retire her. There is no one like Baszler in WWE and she could be the perfect rival for Becky Lynch down the line.

2 MATT RIDDLE

Matt Riddle is a legitimate fighter, a former UFC champion who could beat anyone and would still be tearing things up there if not for his love of marijuana getting him fired. If he can stay clean in WWE, he has the charisma to go a long way and the skills to tear it up in the ring on the main roster.

Matt Riddle is a star in the making and WWE has something special here. He can do more than Ken Shamrock ever dreamed in WWE and has the talent to match up with anyone and the history to be someone fans believe can beat anyone.

1 UNDISPUTED ERA

The Shield was a great faction, that much is true. However, they were a force of nature. The world of wrestling still reveres The Four Horsemen, though, four men who worked together for their faction with the ultimate goal of hoarding all the titles. WWE tried to replicate that with Evolution, and it worked for a short time.

The Undisputed Era is the Four Horsemen and Evolution of the new era. Adam Cole is the Ric Flair/Triple H leader of the group and the future world champion. Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly are the Brainbusters of the faction and future tag team champions. Roderick Strong is the Barry Windham/Randy Orton part of the team -- the man who can easily fit into the United States or Intercontinental title picture. This is the faction WWE needs right now.
