WWE is poised for a great and historic year in 2018 as they have arguably the most talented roster in history. But in order to continue evolving and growing over the next 12 months, they need to add some new talent. Whether it be to NXT, the main roster or to join the growing Women’s Revolution, there is so much talent out there, and these are 5 that we think they should pursue most.

5. War Machine

NXT has been consistently good since its inception, but the tag team division has been up and down. After a few great years with teams like DIY, The Revival, Enzo & Cass and American Alpha, they desperately need to restock their talent pool. They have The Undisputed Era and some very talented teams coming through the ranks, but the addition of War Machine would take it to another level entirely. There were rumors throughout 2017 that WWE were interested, and those have intensified in recent times, and the team of Hanson and Raymond Rowe would become stars in NXT if treated right.

4. Toni Storm

Toni Storm competed for the WWE in their inaugural Mae Young Classic where the Aussie looked like an absolute star, and WWE needs to bring her in full time in 2018. She is currently the Progress Women’s Champion, and is an absolute mega-star in Japan. So don’t expect it to happen early in the year, but if WWE are interested in continuing to improve their NXT Women’s division, they NEED Storm. She is great against any type of opponent, and is a very unique and funny character. As a character familiar to Full Sail, she will get over huge no matter what the WWE would do with her.

3. Ricochet

This one is all but guaranteed at this point, but Ricochet would be an incredible addition to the WWE in 2018. A debut for Ricochet at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans would make it the best WWE event of this upcoming year. He is quite possibly the best high-flyer in the industry today, and would be arguably the biggest signing of the NXT era in WWE. It would give us plenty of dream matches against the likes of Johnny Gargano, Aleister Black, Adam Cole and Andrade “Cien” Almas. The Future of Flight has stopped taking bookings after January, so it’s likely we will see him in the WWE during the first quarter of 2018 as he is ready to step in and become an immediate star.

2. Io Shirai

This one was reportedly ready to happen for the 2017 Mae Young Classic, but due to worries about a prior injury, the WWE pulled out of the deal. However, they need to make a massive push to bring the Stardom star in during 2018. With Kairi Sane and Asuka both succeeding in the WWE, it makes sense that Shirai would follow suit. She was better than both in Japan which gives her more potential than those former two names. As we’ve mentioned, there has been much contact between the two parties, so restarting those talks and coming to a deal might not be that hard. If the WWE can pull this off alongside Ronda Rousey in 2018, this could be the best year for the Women’s Revolution yet.

1. Matt Riddle

The King of Bros is another guy who combines great athleticism with his striking due to the MMA background, and if anyone on the independents has true potential star power, it’s the former UFC fighter, Matthew Riddle. He looks like a star, and is genuinely one of the best wrestlers in the world, despite being in the business for just 2 years. That also leaves plenty of room for improvement at the WWE Performance Center as Riddle isn’t anywhere near his peak. It’s clear that the WWE has had interest in Riddle for quite some time, and seeing how incredible he has become, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if he did sign with the WWE in 2018. However, it currently may just be a pipe dream.
