Vince McMahon the character shares many similarities with his real life persona as he values the company's profits above all else. In the past, we have seen him clash with a number of Superstars for business and personal reasons, but he ended up giving him a second chance after all. Many of them such as Hulk Hogan were granted multiple chances after having seemingly burned all bridges, which goes to show that anything is possible when it comes to the WWE.

With that being said, there are a few wrestlers who seem to have been blacklisted from the company and may not be allowed back in under any circumstances. McMahon has held some grudges over the years, some of which remain to this day. There are two factors that usually determine whether McMahon would re-hire a former WWE employee with the first being their popularity.

When it comes to the big draws in the WWE, he is always willing to put their differences aside to conduct business since both sides have something to gain. The second has to do with his personal opinion of said Superstar - he is much more forgiving when it comes to those he once liked. This past year, we saw the return of multiple Superstars who had been gone from the company for a while, such as Bobby Lashley, Rey Mysterio and Hulk Hogan. It is a common trend in the company as we will surely witness a few more names by the end of 2019. Here are 10 wrestlers Vince would never re-hire and 10 who might get a 2nd chance:

20 Would Never Re-Hire: Alberto Del Rio

via wwe.com

Not many Superstars have been granted quite the opportunity that Alberto Del Rio had in his first stint. From being a four-time World Champion to a Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank winner, Del Rio was instantly pushed to the top of the mountain.

Following his first departure from the WWE, he would get a second chance to re-establish himself in the company - although that didn't last too long.

Based on the way he has acted away from the WWE, as well as some of the interviews in which he bashed the company and Triple H, it's safe to say that Del Rio will not be getting another look.

19 Might: Austin Aries

via twitter.com

Austin Aries' run was off to an impressive start in the WWE, becoming one of the main faces of the 205 Live division. But Aries wasn't exactly thrilled with his stint or his creative direction, and was expecting to be given greater opportunities to succeed. He would ask for his release from the WWE which the company granted, allowing him to prove himself elsewhere.

Considering the impressive stint he has had with Impact Wrestling, as well as his backstage connections in the WWE, it wouldn't be surprising to see Aries back in the mix at some point as he still has something to offer.

18 Would Never Re-Hire: Jack Swagger

via wwe.com

A two-time World Champion and a Money in the Bank winner, Jack Swagger was presented with multiple chances to establish himself as a legitimate main eventer in the WWE.

He was never able to quite connect the fans despite going through various gimmicks - leading to his eventual departure in 2016.

Seeing as Swagger has gone on to be very critical of the company since his exit, especially in regards to their recruitment of independent wrestlers - the door may not be open for a return. He hadn't been a draw for the WWE to overlook some of his comments in the media.

17 Might: Neville

via wwe.com

Shortly after his release from the WWE, rumors were already linking Neville with a potential return. But it appears like that won't be happening anytime soon as Neville has finally been cleared to compete elsewhere.

Considering his all-around talent, Neville may be brought back for a second chance in the future although the sour feelings are still too fresh for the WWE to sign him at the moment. Triple H had constantly praised Neville, even during his one year absence from the WWE, which indicates that the door may be open for him in the future as long as the two sides are on the same page.

16 Would Never Re-Hire: Melina

via youtube.com

When Melina was released from the WWE, rumors suggested that there had been plenty of heat surrounding her throughout her entire stint. In fact, WWE wanted to keep Melina away from the backstage area as well, which led to the release of her then boyfriend John Morrison. Despite being a three-time Women's Champion and two-time Divas Champion, Melina hasn't been acknowledged by the company since her release.

While some fans were hoping to see her back in some capacity at Evolution, WWE once again chose to ignore Melina - leading to a lengthy rant from the former Superstar across social media.

15 Might: Eva Marie

via wwe.com

Eva Marie had been given multiple chances by the WWE to succeed, but the company eventually gave up on her as she was suddenly released.

Considering how high Vince McMahon among many WWE officials were said to be on Eva, it wouldn't be surprising to see her get a second chance to finish what she had started.

In a recent interview, Marie displayed interest in making a return to the squared circle, while also revealing that she had held talks with the WWE. Based on Marie's claims, she may be getting a second chance at redemption in the near future.

14 Would Never Re-Hire: Ken Shamrock

via cagesideseats.com

Since his last appearance for the WWE in 1999, Ken Shamrock hasn't been brought back in any capacity. It has been said that Vince McMahon held a grudge against him for leaving to compete in UFC once again, and since Shamrock went on to have a losing record - it made no sense for him to be brought back to the company. Additionally, Shamrock claims that Triple H has never been a fan of his - blaming him for keeping him away from the WWE. Unless the WWE runs out of candidates for the Hall of Fame, it seems highly unlikely that Shamrock will get a second chance.

13 Might: Summer Rae

via youtube.com

Following a year of inactivity, Summer Rae was released from the roster a year ago as it seemed like the creative team had no plans for her going further. She had shown some potential from time to time although she was never able to leave a mark on the women's division unlike many of her peers. Rae has returned to the ring on the independent circuit in hopes of getting a second chance with the WWE.

She has shown interest in making a comeback to the company through various interviews, but it remains to be seen whether the interest is mutual.

12 Would Never Re-Hire: Rich Swann

via wrestlinginc.com

When Rich Swann ran into legal troubles late last year, it was evident that it was only a matter of time before he was released from the WWE. By February, he was officially gone from the company despite being cleared.

Swann had been one of the most prominent figures of the 205 Live division prior to his release, although he wasn't exactly irreplaceable.

Given the issues surrounding his personal life, the WWE may be unwilling to give him a second chance. Fortunately for Swann, he has been hired by Impact Wrestling, where he continues wrestling to this day.

11 Might: Carlito

via wrestlinginc.com

Carlito is constantly brought up as a potential returning name, but negotiations seem to always fall through. He had grown unhappy during his WWE run due to the lack of opportunities, which affected his overall performances. Carlito has continued making appearances for different promotions since leaving the WWE, so unlike many former Superstars, he has stayed in tremendous in-ring shape. He was once considered as a main eventer in the making until his push slowed down in 2006, as he couldn't bounce back since then. Much like Shelton Benjamin, Carlito could receive a second chance to return to the WWE in the future.

10 Would Never Re-Hire: Ryback

via mandatory.com

The ship sailed for a potential Ryback return while he was still employed by the WWE, as the two sides had a public falling out that led to his exit. While his career did get off to a hot start, the company never capitalized on the hype and soon enough Ryback was just another name lost in the shuffle. Not only is he not needed on the roster right now given how stacked it is, but Ryback has also been critical of both Vince McMahon and Triple H - which has likely ensured that he will never step into a WWE ring again.

9 Might: Wade Barrett

via wrestlingnews.co

If Wade Barrett is interested in getting back to in-ring action, then it is very likely that the WWE would be on board with re-signing him. He was exhausted by the time he left the WWE and needed a break to engage in other ventures at the time.

While he has always maintained the very same position by claiming never say never, Barrett may not be eager to put the boots back on.

However, if he does change his mind in the near future, there is no doubt that he could still make a good addition to the current roster.

8 Would Never Re-Hire: Enzo Amore

via wwe.com

Before Enzo Amore ran into personal problems, he was already on thin ice due to a number of backstage incidents. He wasn't exactly popular among his peers either as Enzo had been banned from the locker room for some time.

Despite having displayed impressive mic skills in his stint with the company, Enzo never improved as an in-ring performer - which greatly limited his ceiling as a Superstar.

Since his release from the company, he hasn't had the kindest words towards the wrestling industry so it's safe to say that both sides appear to be uninterested in a reunion.

7 Might: Emma

via twitter.com

Emma would be technically getting a third chance with the WWE since she has already been released twice in the past - the first taking place when she was still in NXT. Shortly after her departure from the WWE last year, Emma joined Ring of Honor where she displayed her all-around talent and that led to speculation whether she could return to the company in the future.

Considering the mysterious circumstances around her release, it cannot be confirmed that the two sides are on good terms right now - but she may be talented and popular enough to earn another chance with the WWE.

6 Would Never Re-Hire: Victoria

via youtube.com

Victoria has had heat with the company since her short lived retirement in 2009. After informing the WWE of her intentions of retiring, Victoria ended up signing with TNA just three months later - which has reportedly lost her some friends along the way.

Despite inviting a number of former WWE Divas in the past year, Victoria has been excluded with the company not acknowledging her accomplishments.

She was also apparently denied access to the SmackDown backstage area when she attempted to catch up with some friends. Based on the way she has been ignored by the WWE, it is unlikely that Victoria will be re-hired.

5 Might: Big Cass

via wwe.com

Unlike many former WWE Superstars who badmouth the company once they get released, Big Cass has taken a different approach. He has claimed to have understood WWE's decision to let him go, believing that he had made many mistakes to earn him the release. Given how high Vince McMahon was on Cass in prior years, he may be open to bring him back at some point if Cass demonstrates maturity and improvements as a performer. He certainly has the type of look that McMahon seems to adore, and while his solo run may not have gone as well as planned - Cass could receive a second chance in the future.

4 Would Never Re-Hire: Mr. Kennedy

via wikipedia.org

If the WWE haven't re-hired Mr. Kennedy back almost a decade since his release, then it is unlikely that we will ever see him again. He had quite a sudden exit from the company with Randy Orton and John Cena apparently convincing Vince McMahon to let him go.

Kennedy had botched some moves during a match - which didn't go well with the WWE's two biggest stars - deeming him an unsafe in-ring performer.

If Kennedy had gone on to succeed away from the company, then he may have had a shot at redemption, but it's unlikely seeing how he quickly faded away.

3 Might: John Morrison

via pinterest.com

It's been reported that John Morrison was let go from the WWE since they didn't want Melina to be roaming in the backstage area. Now that Morrison has moved on, he may be welcomed back in the WWE. The fact that he has achieved plenty of success around the wrestling world since his departure, including remarkable stints for Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling - Morrison may have earned another opportunity with the WWE.

Given that he has remained in top shape while producing quality matches, his second stint with the company could end up surpassing his first, if he wants that chance.

2 Would Never Re-Hire: CM Punk

via sportskeeda.com

It's been almost four years since we last saw CM Punk in a WWE ring and it may have been the very last time due to the significant heat that continues to exist between the two sides. From lawsuits to all-around criticism, their relationship may be beyond repair at this point.

While time heal all wounds, the case of CM Punk may be an exception especially since he has shown no interest in getting back into the squared circle.

Given the disdain that he has towards numerous top officials in the WWE, Punk may choose to never work with the company again. And it doesn't sound like the company misses him.

1 Might: Cody Rhodes

via si.com

When Cody Rhodes left the WWE, he was determined to rebuild his image and succeed away from the company. After having struggled to establish himself in the WWE, Rhodes was aiming to reach greater heights and the independent circuit allowed him to do exactly that. Since then, he has become one of the hottest names in wrestling outside of the WWE with major success as a performer.

Having left on good terms with the WWE, he would surely receive a second chance if Rhodes happens to be interested in resuming what he had started with a strong possibility of becoming a main eventer this time around.
