Quite a few couples would fall apart shortly after their time in the industry ends. The drastic change in lifestyle can lead to people growing tired of each other in any world and wrestling only amplifies that. Others will see their love grow stronger with the relationship lasting in the long haul. We will look at both stories to come in the scenario with five wrestling couples that survived the industry along with five that broke up after leaving.

10 Survived: The Undertaker and Michelle McCool

The fifteen-year age gap between The Undertaker and Michelle McCool made many wrestling fans question how long they would remain together. However, McCool retiring from the ring and Undertaker only wrestling a handful of times per year did not break them apart, as the couple is still going strong today.

WWE Network has shown backstage footage of shows involving Undertaker with McCool always there to show support. McCool had her own impressive run as a Divas Champion and Women’s Champion, but many fans first think of her relationship with Undertaker. given how long she’s been away from the ring.

9 Broke up: Diamond Dallas Page and Kimberly Page

The couple of Diamond Dallas Page and Kimberly Page was a favorite of any WCW fan of the time. Kimberly appeared as both part of the Nitro Girls dance team and as DDP’s valet with their real-life marriage often referenced when necessary in storylines.

They ended their relationship shortly after WCW went out of business. The divorce was a mutual decision with them still remaining friends after all this time. DDP and his new wife even hangs out with Kimberly and her love interest, as they are still close despite splitting up.

8 Survived: The Miz and Maryse

Maryse transitioning out of the wrestling business did not negatively impact her relationship with The Miz. Both talents found success on their own in WWE without working together. They managed to fall in love based on their chemistry backstage leading to their eventual marriage.

The return of Maryse to WWE in 2016 helped Miz become a bigger star with her at his side. Maryse has once again left WWE, but fans still to get see the couple on the reality series Miz & Mrs. They seem to be happier than ever, with a second child on the way.

7 Broke up: John Morrison and Melina

John Morrison and Melina were one of the long-term relationships in WWE. They started dating while working together in the MNM faction, along with Joey Mercury as Morrison’s tag team partner.

Melina and Morrison had a mixed bag of history, but they were dating as recently as Melina’s sole appearance in Lucha Underground, helping him win. The couple has since split up with Morrison now married to Taya Valkyrie. Melina and Morrison could not survive another hurdle after the rocky history of their time together.

6 Survived: Tommy Dreamer and Beulah

The love triangle storyline between Raven, Tommy Dreamer and Beulah was a huge part of ECW. All three talents benefited from it onscreen, but Beulah and Dreamer started a real-life romance after spending enough time working together.

Beulah left the wrestling business shortly after the end of her ECW time to find a new career path as a children’s author. Dreamer and Beulah have remained married throughout the years, raising a family together. Beulah makes the rare appearance on House of Hardcore to reunite with Dreamer for the cool moment for old school ECW fans.

5 Broke up: Alberto Del Rio and Paige

Alberto Del Rio and Paige had one of the most controversial relationships in wrestling history. WWE wanted the couple apart following various backstage issues including both performers getting suspended for violating the Wellness Policy.

Del Rio eventually requested his release from WWE as Paige was away from the company as well due to an injury. The couple continued to pile up the negative headlines regarding their poor moments together. Paige and Del Rio broke up shortly before her return to WWE.

4 Survived: Brock Lesnar and Sable

Brock and Sable kiss

Brock Lesnar and Sable fell in love back in 2002-2003 when they worked together in WWE. The combination of the iconic diva returning and the new top star making his name saw the polar opposite stories in their careers, but they found a bond to start dating.

Lesnar and Sable would see their relationship grow stronger during Brock’s time away from WWE. They started a family and raise them together on a private farm in Canada. Despite Lesnar returning to WWE, Sable has not made an appearance for the company since her departure in 2004.

3 Broke up: Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson

The romantic storyline between Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson in WCW paralleled real life. Wilson started to find her groove as a performer when her relationship with Kidman made the television screen. The Filthy Animals faction would see Torrie add to the career of Kidman and the others involved.

They continued their romance while working together in WWE. Kidman’s departure from the company and wrestling would see the relationship eventually end while Torrie was still on the roster. The couple remains friends today, and Kidman now works for WWE as a producer.

2 Survived: CM Punk and AJ Lee

The relationship of CM Punk and AJ Lee started towards the end of Punk’s run in WWE. They were booked to be involved in a romantic storyline during the WWE Championship of Reign when feuding with Daniel Bryan and Kane. Punk and Lee's relationship would last beyond the days in the wrestling business.

Lee left the company about a year after Punk, with both talents now unofficially retired. They are still in love as Punk embarks on his new career path as an MMA broadcaster, and Lee works on her projects as a writer. Both wrestlers had falling-outs with WWE, but it never impacted their love for each other.

1 Broke up: John Cena and Nikki Bella

John Cena and Nikki Bella had one of the most high-profile relationships in wrestling history. WWE would create the Total Divas reality show with the relationship of Nikki and Cena playing a huge role in the marketing. Cena even proposed to Nikki at WrestleMania 33 on the biggest stage possible.

The relationship eventually ended due to the couple having different opinions about their future plans. Nikki reportedly broke up with Cena to end their long run of ups and downs. Both Cena and Nikki are now involved in new relationships, officially erasing any hope of them reuniting.
