Not only is WrestleMania the biggest annual show in the wrestling business, but it's on par with most of the other marquee sporting events.

Vince McMahon and WWE officials go out of their way to put on the best possible show each year. This includes bringing back a handful of fan favorites and wrestling legends who only appear on a part-time basis.

If WWE wants to put together another memorable WrestleMania event this year in Tampa Bay, they should load up by bringing back five of these legends. At the same time, WWE should avoid booking these legends for the event.

Want To Appear: CM Punk

It's already been six years since CM Punk walked out of WWE, and fans continue to anxiously await a return. If Punk were to return to the company in the near future, WrestleMania would be the perfect time and place.

Punk has engaged in back-and-forth trash talk with Seth Rollins. The former could make a surprise appearance at WrestleMania, confront Rollins, and possibly begin the buildup towards his in-ring return.

And for what it's worth, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have both expressed interest in bringing back Punk and Lee.

9 Don't Want To Appear: Ric Flair

It's been 12 years since Ric Flair wrestled his final match in WWE, at WrestleMania XXIV. But The Nature Boy still brings the crowd to their feet any time he appears, and the fans in Tampa Bay would undoubtedly love to see him again.

But with all due respect to Flair, he's had more recent TV appearances than most other wrestling legends. He was part of the Raw Reunion episode on July 22, plus Flair and Hulk Hogan took center stage for a 5-on-5 match at Crown Jewel.

WWE should book Flair at a later date and use his spot for a legend that hasn't been seen as much lately.

8 Want To Appear: Edge

The Rated-R Superstar made an epic return at the Royal Rumble, and he even made the final three before getting eliminated by Roman Reigns. A day later, Edge was brutally attacked by former Rated-RKO partner, Randy Orton.

It hasn't been confirmed by Edge, Orton nor WWE yet, but there's good reason to believe that these two will clash at WrestleMania. If they don't, WWE will hopefully use Edge in some capacity for the biggest show of the year. Edge could at least interfere in Orton's WrestleMania match and thus set the stage for a future showdown between the two.

7 Don't Want To Appear: Shawn Michaels

As is the case with Flair, this is nothing against WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. It's just, we've seen a lot more of Michaels compared to other WWE legends, and WWE should switch it up for WrestleMania.

The Heartbreak Kid has made numerous WrestleMania appearances since his 2010 retirement, including in 2015 and 2016. He returned to the ring at Crown Jewel 2018 and was present for the Aug. 5 episode of Raw, too.

We'll definitely see more of HBK down the road. That's why it's unnecessary to book him for WrestleMania, especially when WWE can use other legends instead.

6  Want To Appear: John Cena

Compared to most other legends on this list, John Cena has barely appeared on WWE programming over the past year. The 16-time World Champion last wrestled on the Jan. 14, 2019 episode of Raw. He showed up briefly at WrestleMania 35 and for the Raw Reunion episode, but Cena has since kept busy with his Hollywood schedule.

Not only do we want to see Cena at WrestleMania 36, but we're hoping he'll compete in a big match again. A recent rumor suggests that it will actually happen, but we'll believe it once we see it.

5 Don't Want To Appear: Goldberg

Goldberg will go up against Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship at Super ShowDown on Feb. 27. It's logical to believe that the winner will carry the title into WrestleMania.

And it wouldn't be a smart booking decision by WWE to have a part-time performer end The Fiend's perfect streak. If Goldberg is Universal Champion at WrestleMania, he would most certainly drop the title to his challenger. And predictability in a marquee WrestleMania match is not something we want.

That's why we'd rather see WWE book Goldberg at some point after WrestleMania.

4 Want To Appear: Sting

Sting retired from the ring four years ago, having suffered a serious neck injury in a match against Rollins at Night of Champions 2015. We haven't seen The Vigilante appear much on television ever since he called it quits, though he appeared briefly at Flair's 70th birthday celebration, which Batista crashed and ruined on the Feb. 25, 2019, edition of Raw.

A recent report suggests that we could actually see a Sting vs. Undertaker dream match. Even if Sting doesn't wrestle, seeing him appear in a non-wrestling capacity -- especially a confrontation with The Undertaker -- would be totally worthwhile.

3 Don't Want To Appear: Kane

Few WWE legends have appeared on programming more frequently than Kane over the past five or so years. The Big Red Machine hasn't been a part-timer for as long as other legends, either.

Given those two factors, we're not hoping to see Kane as much as other big-time legends. He's been on television a lot more than most other legends on this list, especially over the past year. So WWE will hopefully wait until after WrestleMania to throw Kane back on their programming.

2 Want To Appear: The Undertaker

The Undertaker is the greatest WrestleMania performer of all-time, and as good as last year's show was, it would have been even better if The Phenom had appeared.

WrestleMania just isn't the same without The Undertaker, and his career will end sooner rather than later. Whether he'd take part in a match simply doesn't matter. Fans just want to see him right there in Tampa Bay, even in a non-wrestling capacity.

But if beggars can be choosers, we would love to see that dream match with Sting!

1 Don't Want To Appear: Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan has talked about wanting to do one last match, but given his age -- along with the fact that he hasn't wrestled since 2012 -- that seems highly unlikely at this point.

Hogan may be the most marketable superstar in history, and his legendary status hasn't faded in the slightest. But we've seen him on WWE programming aplenty over the past year -- including at WrestleMania just last year.

With all due respect to The Hulkster, WWE would be smarter to book legends that we don't get to see as much. Hogan has appeared more than most other legends over the past year, and there will be plenty of more opportunities to book him after WrestleMania.

That said, Hogan will likely appear, since WrestleMania 36 does take place in his home city of Tampa Bay.
