Over the course of history that is WWE, wrestlers have been known to get themselves in a little trouble from time to time. Whether it's life on the road or too much time on their hands, drinking and partying can get out of control. Or, when you're away from your family, things can pile up in your absence and coming home is not always the welcome site you'd hope it would be. Friction can lead to disputes and disputes can lead to mistakes.
Whatever the case, when WWE Superstars get arrested on whatever grounds seems to be the cause of their misfortune, almost instantly their pretty little faces show up in the mainstream media care of a mugshot.
Mugshots are not a good look for the WWE, especially when it happens to some of your biggest stars. Here are five mugshots the WWE hopes you never see.
Current WWE Superstar Matt Hardy was arrested at a motel in Virginia one night after allegedly getting into a fight with his wrestler wife Reby Sky. We all know Reby to be a firecracker (just see her Twitter feed) and she got arrest too.
Both have since worked out their issues, but the situation was ugly. As you can see, Hardy has scratches all over his face from the altercation, and her photo looked a little like didn't escape free of damages.
The WWE Universe is hoping to see Matt break out his "Broken" gimmick one of these days. We're not sure if a mugshot would help or hurt any chances of that happening.
Matt's brother Jeff Hardy got himself in trouble as well. His arrest was for drug trafficking when he was caught with Vicodin, Soma, anabolic steroids, residue of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia with an estimated street value of $2,500 in his home. This all happened in September 2009 and it's a part of Hardy's past he's done well to put behind him.
Hardy is out injured right now but the hope is that he comes back strong and with a major singles push.
He'll be the captain of the Raw team at Survivor Series, and he's recently made a wrestling comeback, but it's mugshots like these and Angle's troubled past that made it so difficult and took so long for the WWE to have him return in the first place.
Kurt Angle had real issues with painkillers and alcohol and it led to multiple DUI arrests and hitting rock bottom before he started to turn things around. The WWE is relying on Angle to be a part of some huge pay-per-views coming up. They don't need photos like this out there.
He's supposed to be the future face of the company, but this is not a face WWE wants to promote. If Roman Reigns is going to be WWE's next big thing, he doesn't have to be perfect, but mugshots of him kicking around the Internet will make it tougher for him to do personal appearances, Make-A-Wish visits and other promotions that WWE often has their main guys do.
There is going to be a new pressure set on Reigns to lead by example. Getting rid of mugshots like this helps.
Even though it was proven Brock Lesnar did not, in fact, buy or distribute steroids, he was still arrested when he opened a package that Louisville Police thought was a lot of illegal substances. It turned out to be some kind of growth hormone. Lesnar's lawyer said officers were "very apologetic" when lab results cleared Lesnar, but it doesn't really matter when your famous and your mugshot is now floating around out there.
No one really knows why the police thought Lesnar's package may have contained illicit substances.
