Wrestling history is filled with great power couples like Macho Man and Elizabeth, Shawn Michaels and Sensational Sherri, and Triple H and Stephanie. In the modern wrestling world, social media means fans know more than ever before about wrestlers’ private lives and those closest to them. This has led to a string of real-life partners making on-screen appearances, be it  John Cena and Nikki Bella or The Miz and Maryse.

With Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch recently going public about their relationship, it has got us thinking about the off-screen wrestling couples we would like to see on our TV screens.

10 Tye Dillinger & Peyton Royce

Tye Dillinger and Peyton Royce

One of the industry’s more under-the-radar couples, Royce and Dillinger (now appearing as Shawn Spears in AEW) have been together for a few years now. The duo hooked up while performing on NXT and were briefly main roster colleagues after Royce and her Iconic teammate Billie Kaye were called up.

Now that Dillinger has moved across to AEW, this partnership is not likely to appear on TV any time soon, and that is probably just how the pair want it as they have staunchly avoided the limelight for most of their relationship.

9 Nikki Cross & Killian Dain

The Irish wildman married Cross earlier this year. The former Sanity cohorts announced their nuptials by posting pictures of their wedding rings on social media.

While the duo has appeared on-screen together in Sanity, the potential for them as an on-screen duo is very exciting. Dain’s destructive ability paired with Cross’ magnetic mania would make for a terrifying – and brilliant – pair who would strike fear into opponents. Seriously, why has this yet to happen? Their interactions practically write themselves.

8 Sarah Logan & Raymond Rowe (Erik)

The Viking Raiders is not just a gimmick for Raymond Rowe. The former NJPW tag star, now known as Erik in WWE, married The Riott Squad’s Sarah Logan in a Viking-themed ceremony at the end of last year.

While the duo makes for an adorable pair off-screen, it is unlikely we will see them on camera together any time soon – Rowe already has a television partner in Ivar.

7 Alexa Bliss & Buddy Murphy

Rumors abound that the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and former WWE Raw and Smackdown Women’s Champion have called quits on their relationship over the difficulties of staying together while on the road.

However, the pair’s on-screen potential would have been huge – Bliss’ Queen Bee persona and Murphy’s entitled “juggernaut” schtick would have provided the perfect heat-drawing aspiring power couple to the WWE Universe to shout down. Sadly, this ship seems to have sailed and fans are left to wonder what could have been.

6 Adam Cole & Britt Baker

The new NXT Champion and AEW’s female star have been dating for a while now. This is another of those couples which suffer from working, not just on different brands, but for entirely separate companies.

Cole does not need a mouthpiece to do his talking and he is not short of back-up in the form of his Undisputed Era cohorts, but if he comes up against Johnny Gargano and real-life wife Candice LeRae, he might want Baker by his side to even the odds.

5 Aleister Black & Zelina Vega

While she may appear on WWE TV alongside Andrade, Zelina Vega – who TNA fans will know as Rosita – has been married to Aleister Black since last year. The pair met through NXT and are now on the WWE's main roster together.

With Andrade and Black’s relative positions in the company, it is not inconceivable to imagine a future with Vega and Black showing up in the ring together. That being said, unless one of them undergoes a dramatic character shift, it is not likely to be as a duo.

4 Mickie James & Nick Aldis

NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis and former WWE and TNA Women’s Champion Mickie James got married in 2015 and have a son together, Donovan. The pair met while wrestling in TNA, but have since left and ended up in separate promotions – Aldis is NWA’s top star and James is back with WWE.

While it seems unlikely that Aldis will jump from being a top star in the independents to WWE, they would make a classic on-screen pair as a duo who can each claim to be a top talent in their own right.

3 Brock Lesnar & Sable

It is difficult to imagine Brock Lesnar with anyone except Paul Heyman by his side, but the Beast Incarnate has been married to former WWE star Sable since 2006. The pair have two sons together, as well as Lesnar’s children and Sable’s daughter from previous relationships.

Don’t expect to see Sable appear at her husband’s side in WWE any time soon though. In a 2010 interview with Yahoo Sports, Lesnar said he likes to be “old school” and not put his private life out there for the fans.

2 Charlotte Flair & Andrade Almas

Andrade’s on-screen partner, Zelina Vega, is not the only one with a high-profile, real-life partner. The Mexican superstar confirmed his romance with fellow WWE star Charlotte Flair on Twitter earlier this year.

Put together on screen, this has the makings of a true WWE power couple. Flair already stands tall as one of the biggest stars on the female roster – and the company as a whole – and Andrade is soaring up through the male ranks. If Vega and Andrade do split, this could be WWE’s next top duo.

1 Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins

If you want to talk WWE power couples, though, the buck stops right here. The Man and The Kingslayer went public with their romance earlier this year and they instantly became the hottest couple in WWE.

Neither Lynch nor Rollins needs the support of a partner but this actually makes them a far more enticing prospect. On their own they are both almost unstoppable, together they could – and probably would – rule WWE. A new era may be just around the corner.
