Many of the great factions in wrestling history are celebrated years later with their legacies remaining stronger than ever, but some impressive ones would get forgotten. There are quite a few tremendous wrestling factions that remain underrated with little to no talk about them after all this time. Stables like the New World Order, D-Generation X and the Four Horsemen are all celebrated by WWE in the historical documentaries with two of them already inducted into the Hall of Fame.

We will look at some of the factions that don’t get enough love for delivering some impressive moments. They range from groups that deserved more time in the spotlight to underutilized stables to some that just don’t get discussed for no valid reason. Find out just what made these groups great before they fell off the map. These are the ten most underrated wrestling factions of all time.

10 Million Dollar Corporation

Ted DiBiase retiring from the in-ring aspect of wrestling due to injuries led to the formation of the Million Dollar Corporation. The new role of DiBiase would see him lead a group of heels trying to gain more control of the WWE.

Wrestlers like Sycho Sid, the 123 Kid, Kama Mustafa, Tanaka, and I.R.S. all joined. One high point of the Million Dollar Corporation featured their enforcer Bam Bam Bigelow main eventing WrestleMania 11 against NFL player Lawrence Taylor. The faction could have lasted longer, but it ended early and remains underrated looking back today.

9 The Dangerous Alliance

Paul Heyman has a reputation as one of the greatest managers in wrestling history. The recent history of Heyman managing Brock Lesnar and CM Punk stand out, but his best work may have come in WCW as the leader of the Dangerous Alliance faction.

Heyman’s tremendous promos skills were on display when representing some of the best wrestlers of the era. The Dangerous Alliance featured future Hall of Famers Steve Austin, Rick Rude, Madusa, Arn Anderson, along with underrated talents like Bobby Eaton and Larry Zbyszko. This faction was pound for pound as good as any other in wrestling but didn’t get the same legacy as other top groups.

8 La Familia

Edge and Vickie Guerrero formed their own faction on the Smackdown roster when they were involved in a romantic storyline. Vickie’s nephew Chavo Guerrero would join them along with his bodyguard Bam Neely and Edge’s sidekicks Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins as the Major Brothers.

Teddy Long was unofficially part of the group as Vickie’s assistant after she replaced him as the Smackdown General manager. La Familia dominated Smackdown for a few months doing everything in their power to help Edge retain the World Championship before Undertaker destroyed them.

7 Main Event Mafia

TNA often struggled to build competent storylines between top stars, but an underrated faction helped provide some positive change. The Main Event Mafia was formed with legendary former world champions Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, Booker T and Sting trying to dominate over the younger talents.

It created a great storyline placing the Main Event Mafia against the Frontline wrestlers of mainstays like AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. The Main Event Mafia gave TNA an impressive stable that made sense and showcased their legends. Future versions of the group included Samoa Joe and Magnus joining.

6 Right to Censor

WWE utilized the Attitude Era complaints to create a relevant faction of heels. The Right to Censor group featured Stevie Richards trying to censor the violent, crude and sexual aspects of WWE television much like groups were trying to do with WWE television at the time.

Richard convinced wrestlers like Val Venis and the Godfather to ditch their controversial gimmicks to join them. Ivory and Bull Buchanan also joined to round out the group. The Right to Censor group was impressive since they received as much heat as any other heel on the card.

5 The Brood

The Brood did not have a lengthy run on WWE television to become an iconic faction, but they left an impact on the viewers. Gangrel, Edge, and Christian all portrayed vampire characters with an amazing entrance along with the wild attack of the bloodbath on their opponents.

All three wrestlers had great chemistry that helped them stand out early in their WWE careers. WWE eventually split them up to push Edge and Christian as a tag team without such a wild gimmick. Regardless, the Brood deserves more love for their contributions of the time.

4 King Booker's Court

Booker T would win his first World Championship in WWE five years into his run in 2006. The new gimmick of King Booker featured him portraying a heel king character with his wife Queen Sharmell as his manager after he won the King of the Ring tournament.

An impressive heel run for Booker allowed him to form his own faction known as King Booker’s Court. Finlay and William Regal joined Booker as his henchmen as they received a significant role in the group. The group feuded with the likes of Batista and Bobby Lashley to help Booker’s title reign continue.

3 Team Angle

Kurt Angle was arguably the best wrestler in the world in 2003 when WWE started to give him a bigger responsibility as one of the faces of the Smackdown brand. One tremendous idea introduced the tag team of Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin as his proteges in the new Team Angle faction.

All three wrestlers had similar backgrounds in amateur wrestling. Angle continued his main event run as the top Smackdown heel with Benjamin and Haas finding credibility uniting with such a star. Team Angle could have lasted way longer than it did and they deserve credit for their great run looking back at it.

2 Triple Threat

ECW delivered some of the most underrated ideas in wrestling during their run. Paul Heyman has always been viewed as a wrestling genius and he allowed the talent to have more creative freedom than other promotions. The Triple Threat faction proved just how great wrestlers could be in ECW.

Shane Douglas led the group as the ECW Champion along with his buddies Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Candido. All three added something different to the group that allowed them to compliment each other. The Triple Threat was as valuable to ECW as its peak as the New World Order was to WCW and D-Generation was to WWE.

1 Straight Edge Society

CM Punk started to showcase just brilliant of a heel character he was when forming the Straight Edge Society faction. The group was created after Punk’s World Championship reign ended with Punk’s straight-edge heel character getting incredible heat from the fans every week.

Underutilized wrestlers Luke Gallows and Serena Deeb joined the group with Deeb shaving her head in support of the cause. Former WWE performer Joey Mercury rejoined the company with Punk now as his leader.

The cult-like faction created compelling television that led to Punk shaving his head after losing a feud to Rey Mysterio. It all showed that the Straight Edge Society deserved more love as a tremendous faction in wrestling history.
