A number of 2K Sports' social media accounts were hacked heading into the weekend and the video game company has issued an apology for some of the offensive posts.

It hasn't exactly been a great few weeks for WWE 2K. The release of WWE 2K20 went down like a led balloon. The game surpassed pretty much everyone's wildest expectations and we definitely do not mean that in a good way. Fans of WWE 2K's games have come to not expect a lot from them, but 2K20 might be the worst to date.

As WWE 2K is busy trying to fix the game as well as it can from afar via updates and patches, it has been hit with another public relations nightmare. Seems as if amid the hubbub that is fixing the game, no one was keeping a close enough eye on the company's social media accounts.

A number of 2K's accounts were hacked and some very offensive posts found their way onto the feeds. A screenshot from the leaked video of Paige, the promise of a video featuring Randy Orton and Triple H performing acts of a sexual nature, and WWE 2K's header image on Facebook was changed to one that featured Chris Benoit holding the World Championship.

Not all of the changes were in poor taste. The hacker, who refers to themselves as NuBLoM, changed WWE 2K's Facebook profile picture to an AEW logo. While most of what they did was definitely not okay, that part did entertain us. WWE 2K acknowledged the hack early on Saturday morning, and then issued a further apology once it resolved the problem a few hours later.

"We condemn these posts and apologize to everyone offended by the content," 2K wrote on Twitter this morning. As we said above, not the best time to be a WWE 2K employee right now. A lot to mop up when it comes to PR. Time to reset those passwords and make sure they don't get hacked again because if this NuBLoM person returns and does some more dirty work, fans will question the capabilities of WWE 2K more than ever before.
