Not only has a current-generation reigning champion never willingly entered the Royal Rumble, but they've certainly not done so with the odds so stacked against them and something to prove.

To open Monday's Raw, Brock Lesnar made his much-anticipated return to Raw and in the first segment of the show both Lesnar and Paul Heyman dropped a bombshell. The announcement was that not only was Brock Lesnar going to enter this year's Royal Rumble match, he was going to do so at the No. 1 spot.

Basically, Lesnar and Heyman are out to prove a point, even if it's a completely insane idea.

In the many years the Royal Rumble has been a pay-per-view, this would be a first in WWE. The match itself is set up in such a way that the winner gets to select which title they'd like challenge for at WrestleMania. With that stipulation in mind, no current champion has ever entered the match with a chance to win and then choose his opponent. It completely throws the stipulation for a loop and offers chaos as far as what the main event might be at WWE's biggest show of the year.

In short, what if Lesnar wins? Clearly, he won't challenge himself. Or, would he challenge the Universal Champion and become the first two-belt Heavyweight Champion since the Universal Championship was introduced?

And, At No. 1?

To make it even more interesting, Lesnar has offered to join the match as the very first entry. Meaning, he'll have to battle through 29 other men to win and dictate his terms. Not only does he seem confident, Heyman called it a spoiler.

WWE clearly has something insane planned leading into this year's Royal Rumble and is obviously gearing up to give fans something they've never seen before. It's actually quite shocking that this has never been done before, considering how it sends everything into complete chaos.
