RUMOR: WWE Has 'Given Up' On Bayley

It's quite unfortunate how former Raw Women's Champion Bayley has fallen out of favor with WWE despite the fact that she won the title almost a year ago. She even successfully defended her title at WrestleMania 33, but there wasn't anything really exciting during her run as the champion.

Now it looks like WWE could care less about Bayley. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter said on Wrestling Observer Radio that the company has pretty much given up on her.

“They have already given up on her,” Meltzer said. “And they’ve given up on her a long long time ago. When they’re gonna protect Mickie James over you when Mickie James was brought in to be a filler to lose on the roster, that just tells you. The dice has been cast with her already.”

Of course it didn't help Bayley that she ended up suffering a shoulder injury back in August, which seems to have been her demise since fans on Raw booed her when she came back.

Bayley is only 28-years-old and of course things could always change, but Meltzer is probably the most reliable wrestling reporter in the business, so what he said doesn't bode well for her career.

It also doesn't help Bayley that WWE has just added stars like Asuka and Paige and possibly Ronda Rousey very soon as both sides continue to work on her contract.

Bayley was just added to the Raw roster in July of 2016 at the pay-per-view event Battleground. She started her WWE career with NXT in 2012, where she won the NXT Women's Championship.

All Bayley has really known during her pro career has been WWE, since she started her career on the indie circuit in 2008. There are of course many other companies that she could end up with. Bayley is under a three-year contract, but the company could always decide to release her.

Bayley is only 28 years-old, so even if she does leave WWE and head somewhere else, she could certainly salvage her career and possibly make a return in the future.

One thing we do know right now is that Bayley will be participating in the Women's Royal Rumble this year after making the announcement on this past Monday's Raw.

Comment below and give us your thoughts on Bayley's future with WWE. Do you think they will release her or let her contract run out? Also do you think they will try and revive her character?
