An eventful episode of SmackDown on Friday included the tease of a heel turn for one of the brand's bigger babyfaces. The latest to be changed by an dust-up with Bray Wyatt, being a heel character is a spot this particular Superstar is much better suited for.

Part of a SmackDown show that included Sheamus and The Usos returning and a John Morrison debut, The Miz teased a heel turn. Essentially, a lot went down on Friday. A much more natural heel, it appears WWE is putting him back in a role that he's ideal for and if the clues given on Friday are any indication, Morrison might be involved.

During Friday's SmackDown, he attacked Kofi Kingston after taking a loss in their one-on-one match and then addressed the live audience suggesting they were turning on him after everything he'd been through. Remember, The Miz recently lost to Bray Wyatt at TLC after Wyatt violated the sanctity of his home. It was something The Miz clearly hadn't shaken.

Earlier in the night, Kofi and Big E tried to cheer up The Miz by saying backstage that he'd had a great 2019 and that they both should focus on winning more titles in 2020. The Miz responded that it wasn't about titles but that if Kingston wanted some competition, they should go one-on-one. He then knocked over Kingston's pancake tray.

Kingston eventually won the match but The Miz was rattled, attacking Kofi after the bell and bailing from the ring when Big E entered. On his way up the ramp, The Miz gave it to the live crowd who booed him for his actions.

Later in the show, WWE showed a replay of Miz's actions, went to a shot of his dressing room and out came his former tag team partner and newly signed Morrison. Morrison told Cathy Kelly that he wasn't going to make any comments.

The Miz Is One of WWE's Top Heels

SmackDown is working on building a pretty good crop of heel characters on Friday. Sheamus returned to attacked Shorty G, they have King Corbin and with Morrison, The Miz and The Fiend, things are starting to look good.

Whether The Miz joins up with the Morrison on a regular basis will be something worth watching.
