The leg strike finisher does not get the credit it deserves. Although at times we can see the move coming from a mile away, sometimes they are the sweetest impacts of the night. Of those strikes, ones involving the leg have caused many heavyweight championship changes.

Even if they did not get to that caliber, we can see and hear that somebody got hit real good. Does not matter if it is on the foot, heel, shin, or knee, a leg strike could be devastating. Without further ado, here's a look back through WWE history at 10 wrestlers who used a type of leg strike as their finishing move.

10 Running Knee (Daniel Bryan)

WWE Daniel Bryan Delivering A Running Knee To John Cena

Though his Lebel Lock finisher is effective Daniel Bryan may not always be able to wrestle his opponent down to the mat first; even if they are on the mat if they are a large opponent like The Big Show, he may not always be able to keep his hands clasped. This is where his Running Knee comes to be a convenient and dangerous asset of his move-set.

With the knee, Bryan can run at any sized opponent and throw his knee towards their face. It may take a little extra hop to get to someone who is seven-feet tall but even if they need to get that opponent down to a knee, it opens them up for Bryan's knee. Bryan also using the knee to win the WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2013 was also amazing!

9 Sweet Chin Music (Shawn Michaels)

Some fans may argue that this kick is more sizzle than steak including Eric Bischoff who said that it "couldn't earn a green belt at a YMCA." Criticism aside, Shawn Michaels' Sweet Chin Music does come with its flashy showmanship and impressive visual; winning several heavyweight championships along the way for the six-one, 225 pound Texan.

Michaels "tuning up the band" in the corner always got good crowd involvement with clapping or counting and although that was a dead giveaway for his opponent, Michaels throwing SCM out of nowhere was a fun sight. Although it has been since watered down with the superkick becoming a commonplace strike, it has its legacy.

8 Coup De Grace (Finn Balor)

WWE Finn Balor Delivering A Coup De Grace To Baron Corbin

The Coup De Grace by Finn Balor is an evolved version of the double stomp; WWE fans may remember Spike Dudley doing this during the 2000s off the top rope. When Balor climbs the top rope, he takes a brief moment to focus and energize himself before jumping.

A double stomp from a standing position alone can be dangerous enough. But to have someone like Balor who is five-eleven and a little under 200 pounds, although not the heaviest person, come crashing down on your chest from what has to be at least six feet after a top rope jump is brutal. Balor has used the move to win numerous championships.

7 Brogue Kick (Sheamus)

A heavyweight throwing all their weight, force, and torque into your face through their boot and to add in a running start is a disaster waiting to happen. The six-three, 250-pound "Celtic Warrior" Sheamus has used the Brogue Kick as his finisher for most of his career.

The Brogue Kick has brought Sheamus several titles including the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Sheamus' bicycle-kick was put up in a power contest against Big Show's KO Punch on the October 12, 2012, SmackDown. Sheamus also likes to add in some beats to his chest along with chants of "BROGUE!" before kicking an opponent.

6 Black Mass (Aleister Black)

WWE Aleister Black Delivering Black Mass To Andrade

The former NXT Champion Aleister Black's spinning kick to the head finisher delivers that crisp "smack" that makes strikes sound extra painful. Black can swing his foot out of nowhere or if he feels the need to add some insult to injury, he will place his boot under an opponent's jaw and guide them to their feet before delivering a Black Mass.

What makes the Black Mass even more of a wicked fight and great finisher is when WWE shows the slow-motion replays of Black's opponent having their face temporarily shifted from the impact. Aleister's Black Mass has been a well-protected finisher against opponents of all sizes.

5 The Curb Stomp (Seth Rollins)

The Curb Stomp of Seth Rollins is executed by first jumping up before placing your foot on the back of an opponent's neck to force them down to the canvas.

The move's visual is both incredible and chilling, reminding some viewers of American History X. Rollins has proven that he can perform the Stomp to opponents of all sizes and has used the move to win the 2019 Royal Rumble match and various heavyweight championships.

4 Trouble In Paradise (Kofi Kingston)

The spinning roundhouse kick is a strike we have seen in MMA but it has been immortalized in professional wrestling by Kofi Kingston. The New Day member has won many titles with the kick that he calls Trouble In Paradise.

Some of Kofi's best TIP moments have been defeating Chris Jericho for his first championship in WWE (Intercontinental) with the kick and defeating Daniel Bryan with it to win the WWE Championship. It is a move that Kofi can deliver to all comers if he can get a good hop for the tall opponents. He did also knock out Miz with the kick once.

3 Claymore Kick (Drew McIntyre)

The WWE Champion (at the time of writing) Drew McIntyre began incorporating a fan-inclusion countdown chant in 2020 to signal his Claymore Kick finisher. The Claymore is a single leg dropkick that is mostly performed with a run from the 265-pound Scot.

The move is also called a rocket kick and has been done by various Superstars in WWE in modern times. Since 2018, the move began to become a trademark for Drew. The Claymore Kick was a big fixture in Drew's WWE Championship quest against Brock Lesnar in 2020, defeating The Beast Incarnate with the kick and eliminating him from the 2020 Royal Rumble.

2 Punt Kick (Randy Orton)

WWE Randy Orton Delivering A Punt To Curtis Axel

The Punt Kick began to be used by Randy Orton in 2007 but was used more as a finisher the following year. Orton began to use the punt as an insult to injury after a match before incorporating it in his move-set. In 2009, Orton's Punt rose to major prominence after he delivered one to Vince McMahon which resulted in him having to leave Raw on a stretcher.

Orton won championship matches with the Punt Kick, but it took a bit of a hiatus in the mid-2010s before returning regularly in 2020 in Orton's hunt for the WWE Championship. The move delivery is simple yet very effective. With a running start, Orton throws a kick to the head of an opponent while they're on all fours.

1 Atomic Leg Drop (Hulk Hogan)

WWE Hulk Hogan Delivering A Leg Drop

No other strike in professional wrestling has created as much fandom as Hulk Hogan's iconic Atomic Leg Drop. Usually performed after a Big Boot, the Leg Drop was almost a guaranteed end to the fight.

With the opponent laid out face up and also usually with a running start first, the 300-pound Hogan would jump up before crashing down on the opponent's neck leg-first. Hogan has won many world championships with the move and ironically used it to turn heel in WCW to form the nWo.
