Frankly, there weren't as many good female mic workers before as there are today. Not all women were capable of giving outstanding promos, but there was a small group that was always worth paying attention to when they spoke.

The WWE Women's Championship emerged in December 1983 and was active until September 2010. In that long period of time, many women held the title, but not all were good talkers. Some female competitors lacked mic skills. However, a handful of these champions were very good on the mic.

10 Michelle McCool

Michelle McCool in WWE ring

Michelle McCool was a pretty talented wrestler. She was never the best on the roster, but she was good enough to leave her mark on the company.

She won the WWE Women's Championship twice in her career. Overall, Michelle McCool was a solid champion, with good performances in the ring most of the time. As for her promos, they were neither that bad nor that good. So, you could say that her mic skills were slightly above average.

9 Layla

Layla Michelle McCool LayCool

Layla did not have extraordinary mic skills either, but she was indeed better at it than Michelle McCool, no doubt about it.

However, when Layla and Michelle McCool took the microphone together it was a whole different story. Together they delivered many amazing promos, sometimes funny and sometimes hurtful to the other women on the roster.

They had many memorable moments and it's no wonder, considering that LayCool was one of the best female combinations ever.

8 Sable

Sable WWE

On November 15, 1998, at Survivor Series, Sable defeated Jacqueline to become Women's Champion for the first and only time in her career. Truth be told, Sable's reign was pretty bad, even though it lasted 176 days.

Sable was never a great in-ring performer, her success was mostly thanks to her looks. In terms of mic skills, Sable was not very good either. However, during her title reign, she did give some acceptable promos.

7 Lita

Lita WWE

Lita was a truly exceptional performer, but she is not considered a great talker. Still, she cut some excellent promos throughout her career. For example, that awesome promo on the November 20, 2006 episode of Monday Night Raw, when she talked about how she changed the game for women in the company.

Certainly, Lita played a very important role in the WWE women's division. She was an excellent champion and will always be remembered as such.

6 Molly Holly

Molly Holly WWE Women's Champion

Molly Holly's promo-cutting ability was pretty good, especially in her time as a heel. It is not a secret to anyone that Molly Holly was one of the best heel women’s champions in WWE history. She took on the role perfectly and did a terrific job. Molly Holly's promos as a heel were very good.

On the other hand, as babyface, Molly Holly wasn't that convincing and her speeches weren't a big deal, to say the least. She simply acquitted herself better playing the villain.

4 Mickie James

Like Trish Stratus, Mickie James is one of the best female wrestlers in history. Maybe Trish was better in the ring, but Mickie was a better talker.

Mickie James is extremely passionate and knew how to express her emotions through the microphone. She was always focused and very convincing. Mickie was so good that she could have a cocky attitude, be adorable or even act crazy, and she always did a good job on the mic.

3 Ivory

Ivory Women's Champion

Ivory was a very good wrestler, she was capable of delivering solid matches and her promo skills were excellent. The three-time Women's Champion was better than most people give her credit for.

When Ivory was part of Right To Censor, she was one of the most obnoxious and arrogant women on the roster. Back then, she cut several sensational promos. In fact, her promos were so good that they made you hate her, and when that happens it's because that wrestler is doing a great job.
