When it comes to WrestleMania season, WWE is always looking to pull out all the stops in order to make sure that the show is as entertaining as possible and draws a sellout crowd as well as a massive WWE Network viewership.

In order for WWE to do that the company will be aiming to make several changes prior to the show in an attempt to freshen things up and keep the audience as engaged as possible heading into New York/New Jersey next year.

Whether it be new superstars, new champions, or something totally different, WWE is going to make the changes needed to have the biggest and best card possible when it comes to WrestleMania itself.

However, WWE won't go overboard with surprises and changes as that will stop the company being able to do anything either at the show or following the event; something that the company won't want to do.

Because of that, there will be changes taking place after WrestleMania is over in order to make sure that the post-'Mania season is as exciting as possible and to keep fans interested following the big show, especially those who only watch during 'Mania season.

Within this article we will take a look at 10 potential big changes on the way before WrestleMania 35 takes place, as well as 10 that the company might be looking to make following the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

WWE management seems to have a love/hate relationship with the 205 Live division as one minute the company wants to feature them on Raw and PPVs and then the next they are kicked off the show altogether.

However, in recent months the purple brand has become incredibly entertaining, putting on some of the best matches of the year which has seen more eyes on the product and has forced the creative team into giving them more opportunities.

This is something that will only continue heading into WrestleMania, with Cruiserweight Championship matches set to be featured on main cards, showcasing the talent to even more people than before.

19 After WrestleMania - New Raw General Manager

via gamespot.com

It has been several months now since Kurt Angle was last the permanent General Manager of Monday Night Raw, with WWE giving a chance to Baron Corbin as the 'acting GM' to freshen up the product.

However, that situation is never going to last as the Lone Wolf is very much still part of the WWE roster and will eventually returning to just being a wrestler, opening up another opportunity for change.

While Angle might return to the role for a brief stint, after WrestleMania it might be a good time to change things up completely and bring in another fresh face to work as the General Manager of WWE's flagship show.

18 Before WrestleMania - Braun Strowman Becomes Universal Champion

via wwe.com

While Brock Lesnar made easy work of the Monster Amongst Men at Crown Jewel, there is no doubt that the plan is still to eventually have Braun Strowman as the top guy on Raw, which means he will become the Universal Champion.

Lesnar will likely compete at WrestleMania, but having him in a match that isn't for the Universal Title would be a smart idea as it allows full-time competitors to battle it out for Monday Night Raw's biggest prize.

The Royal Rumble seems like the prime opportunity for the title switch to take place, giving WWE plenty of time to develop a major feud for Strowman heading into WrestleMania 35.

17 After WrestleMania - No More Undertaker

via wwe.com

Every year this seems to be a big possibility, but WrestleMania 35 does appear to be the perfect time for The Undertaker to retire, which will be a major change for WWE as seeing the Phenom appear throughout the year is something everyone expects to happen.

However, with WrestleMania 35 taking place in the New York area, the spiritual home of WWE, it seems like the right location for a legend as big as The Undertaker to bow out after an incredible career.

If WWE can put together a special storyline against a quality opponent to create one more moment of magic from 'Taker then his career can end on the ultimate high before the major change of him not wrestling again sets in.

16 Before WrestleMania - Women's Tag Team Titles

via wwe.com

This change might end up taking place officially at WrestleMania 35 itself, but WWE would be smart to announce its decision to introduce Tag Team Championships to the women's division prior to the event.

WWE has more than enough women that are together to make sensible tag teams from Sasha Banks and Bayley to The Riott Squad or Naomi and Asuka and it would give some purpose to the talents outside of the Women's Championship feuds.

If the company announced it and then created a tournament leading to a tag team match at WrestleMania to crown the first ever champions it would make the titles a much bigger deal and would set off brand new feuds.

15 After WrestleMania - Brock Lesnar Retires

via wwe.com

It seemed like WrestleMania 34 was going to be the final match of Brock Lesnar's WWE career, yet here we are just about to start the road to WrestleMania 35 and The Beast is very much still part of the company.

Despite the fact Lesnar has stuck around for another year and seems set to be competing at WrestleMania in New York it is well documented that he is returning to UFC in 2019 and that will certainly bring an end to his run with WWE.

While some will be pleased to see The Beast walk away from the company, others will miss him and there is no doubt that it will be a big change to the WWE landscape after so many years of Suplex City dominance.

14 Before WrestleMania - Shinsuke Nakamura Is Dethroned

via twitter.com

Things haven't worked out for Shinsuke Nakamura on the main roster and despite being heavily featured at WrestleMania 34 with his WWE Championship match against AJ Styles, it seems unlikely he will be getting a big spot this time around.

Even though WWE have given him a solid run with the United States Championship, his time with the title has been incredibly uneventful, with very little to write home about with Nakamura spending plenty of time not even on the shows.

Because of this WWE will look to shake things up before WrestleMania in order to have a bigger match for the title take place on the show

13 After WrestleMania - Ronda Rousey Turns Heel

via wwe.com

WWE made the right decision in having Ronda Rousey as a babyface during the start of her WWE career. After all, she is beloved by everyone for the incredible work she has done in changing the game for women's combat sports.

However, there is certainly money to be made in a heel run from the former UFC star and that could start to take place following WrestleMania. With Rousey dominating the women's wrestling scene since she arrived, eventually, that should build a cocky chip on her shoulder.

If WWE is sensible, then they will turn Rousey heel and have her believe she is better than everyone in the company with a top babyface eventually bringing her down to size, possibly at SummerSlam.

12 Before WrestleMania - Shane McMahon Turns Heel

via wwe.com

While Ronda Rousey's heel turn might take place after the Grandest Stage Of Them All, one heel turn that looks likely to happen prior to that fateful evening in April is for the SmackDown commissioner, Shane McMahon.

After winning the WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel it has been reported the company is looking to make Shane a major authority heel figure like we have become so used to seeing from his sister, Stephanie in the past.

It seems like Shane is going to become an entitled and arrogant character that will eventually lose the faith of the WWE Universe, eventually setting up a major match against a babyface on the blue brand; likely at WrestleMania itself.

11 After WrestleMania - Drew McIntyre Becomes A Top Star

via goal.com

Ever since he returned to the company it has been clear that WWE has big plans for Drew McIntyre, from his immediate push to become the NXT Champion when he first returned to his impressive run on the main roster, McIntyre has been a big star in the company.

It has been reported that Vince McMahon is very high on The Scottish Psychopath and therefore big things can be expected from his future with a run as Universal Champion looking more and more likely.

With Roman Reigns gone, WWE must create new stars and McIntyre has all the attributes to be exactly that, meaning he is probably set for a huge 2019 and that big push will come following the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

10 Before WrestleMania - New Day Split

via wwe.com

The New Day will go down as one of the greatest wrestling stables of all time, taking a group that fans initially hated to a group that will never be forgotten but after so many years it is time for a change for the Booty loving trio.

After holding the Tag Team Titles five times, with one run being the longest in WWE history, there is very little left for them to achieve as a group, yet there is a major storyline to be played out in splitting them up.

Having Big E stand out as a top heel who is more than capable of going on to main event status would be a fantastic storyline, while there is no reason Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods can't continue as a tag team after.

9 After WrestleMania - A New Paul Heyman Guy

via wwe.com

With Brock Lesnar's WWE career set to wind down, there are a lot of questions about what the future is for Paul Heyman who is someone that can offer plenty to the company in a variety of roles.

There's no doubt WWE will want Heyman to stick around as he has too much to offer, whether that be in writing promos, commentary, or as an on-air personality as a manager of another WWE talent.

The only question is, who? Whether it be a brand new signing or someone coming up from NXT, or perhaps a current main roster star, Heyman's love for the wrestling industry certainly hasn't disappeared and therefore it might be time to see him with a new client.

8 Before WrestleMania - Sasha Banks Turns On Bayley

via wwe.com

Everyone thought this was going to happen before WrestleMania 34 but WWE opted to not pull the trigger, instead, having them be involved in the Women's Battle Royal where they did have a slight moment, but not a full on match.

Since then all the teasing has come to an end and the former NXT stars have simply just become friends again but that is likely going to change at some stage before WrestleMania 35, hopefully leading to a major match between them.

It makes the most sense for Sasha to be the one to cause the split, with The Boss bringing back her confident NXT gimmick that made her so popular in the first place and hopefully that will also help push Bayley back as the top, sympathetic babyface.

7 After WrestleMania - Further Global Expansion

via twitter.com

Triple H has made it very clear that he wants to expand WWE even more globally, creating a territory style system where WWE will have feeder companies to create its own brands such as they have done with NXT UK.

WWE has linked with the likes of PROGRESS Wrestling and ICW to create talent for the brand which is then featured on the WWE Network and the company is looking to continue doing that in more places.

Countries such as Mexico have been pinpointed as future places that WWE wants to expand to, but they will wait until after WrestleMania with the company putting all its efforts into NXT UK prior to that point.

6 Before WrestleMania - Charlotte Flair Joins Raw

via wwe.com

Last year WWE used the first ever Women's Royal Rumble to set up a dream match at WrestleMania and make a slight tweak to the roster with Asuka moving to SmackDown Live and the company looks set to do the same thing again.

This time, Charlotte Flair seems poised to be the Royal Rumble winner, adding another major accolade to her already very impressive career and this is going to be done to set up a mega match between her and Ronda Rousey.

WWE wants to shake things up for this WrestleMania and putting the two of them together could see them end up main eventing the show. However, to get the feud as big as possible Flair will need to return to Monday Night Raw.

5 After WrestleMania - SmackDown Becomes The A Show

via wwe.com

2019 will see SmackDown Live have a new home as it joins FOX, instead of continuing on the USA Network and with the change will see WWE put a major focus onto the blue brand in order to really push it on its new location.

When the show joins FOX, the company may look to make SmackDown Live the A show for the first time in history, or at least for a few months in order to ensure the viewership is as high as possible to make FOX's investment worthwhile.

This won't happen until after WrestleMania 35 though as SmackDown isn't set to move until near the end of 2019, meaning WWE can use the draft to put things into place for when that time comes.

4 Before WrestleMania - The Miz Becomes WWE Champion

via bigstockphoto.com

Picking who walks into WrestleMania as the WWE Champion is a big deal for WWE as that man is certainly going to be one of the bigger names for the show in what will be a main event match.

The Miz might be a surprising choice for that role but he has been putting in the work of his career and delivers every single time no matter what and it is about time that he gets the run with the WWE Championship.

Having Miz be the man to dethrone AJ Styles for the WWE Championship would give him a major push and if he can defend that title against a top babyface it is sure to be a major moment for him.

3 After WrestleMania - The Elite Arrives

via twitter.com

It has been highly speculated for months and the rumors are only set to continue growing during the build to WrestleMania about the future of The Elite and whether or not they will join WWE or stay on the independent scene.

Anyone who watches Being The Elite will know, only too well, that the group has been heavily teasing joining WWE and while it might not happen as soon as people think, with their contracts all expiring in January, it is likely they will move at some stage after WrestleMania.

Having the group join WWE would be a massive change as it would add some major star power to the company which would change the landscape of not just WWE but professional wrestling in general.

2 Before WrestleMania - More NXT Arrivals

via heymanhustle.com

WWE tends to bring talent from NXT to the main roster at certain points in the year and those times typically take place after major PPV's and before WrestleMania there are two of those events in Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble.

This will give WWE two huge opportunities to debut some new talent on the main roster in order to freshen things up heading into WrestleMania season, creating new feuds for fans to get behind for the biggest show of the year.

There are plenty of talents who are ready to make the jump too from Velveteen Dream and Johnny Gargano to Shayna Baszler and all the members of the Undisputed Era, the main roster could be set for a big shake-up very soon.

1 After WrestleMania - AJ Styles Joins Raw

via wwe.com

It has been several years since we have last season AJ Styles on Monday Night Raw with the current WWE Champion becoming the face that runs the place over on the blue brand, helping to establish SmackDown Live.

Styles has taken SmackDown to new heights since joining the brand and has spent the majority of that time as the top star, proving he is more than capable of carrying a show on his own back.

After Raw lost Roman Reigns, plans were likely put into place for the next draft which will be after WrestleMania and with AJ being the biggest star in the company right now, he seems like the most obvious fit to now become the face of the flagship show.
