SmackDown Live has become hard to watch recently, and apparently, the creative team on the show are fully aware of how bad the product is.

Whenever Vince McMahon has split his roster in two in the past he has tended to favor Raw over SmackDown, or at least that's how it seems. The Monday night flagship is his baby and has been around a lot longer so it does make sense but it can be a little frustrating for us who are fans of the stars on the blue brand.

Following the latest manifestation of the draft that appeared not to be the case for once. Big stars such as John Cena and AJ Styles landed on Tuesday nights and the show went live on a weekly basis for the first time ever. Whatever interest the boss seemed to have in SmackDown Live appears to have dwindled though and the show has become pretty hard to watch.

What makes the poorly executed booking of SmackDown Live even worse is that apparently, the creative team on the show are fully aware of how bad it is. On a recent edition of WWE Backstage, Brad Shepard reported that sources within the company have told him that "everyone that works there knows it’s not good." He also went on to discuss the poor ticket sales for SmackDown Live shows recently.

So providing all of the above is true, you really have to question what the SmackDown Live creative team's line of thinking is here. Their show hasn't been hard to watch for a week or two, it's a trend that has been going on for a couple of months now. Plus, when compared to Raw right now which has been great it is making the blue brand look even worse.

WrestleMania is looming large in the distance with the biggest show of the year now less than six weeks away. It sort of feels like some SmackDown Live angles have to be worked through before they can really focus on Mania and perhaps that's what is happening. Once Fastlane is out of the way, hopefully, they will pick up the pace and SmackDown Live will return to the terrific show that it was around 18 months ago.
