The current era of WWE is an incredibly talented one, with wrestlers who are all very gifted athletically and are allowed to thrive because of that. However, even though this has helped some wrestlers to become megastars, for others, there are different eras where they would have flourished a little more.

This era certainly isn't for everybody, and that is just how it goes. For some, competing in different periods of wrestling history would likely have suited their character or their in-ring style a lot more, which could have translated to them having a lot more success.

10 Lana

Women's wrestling has certainly made major improvements in recent years, with the focus on in-ring talent being crucial. While Lana has been making big improvements in the ring, she's not at the point where she will be able to thrive as a Women's Champion.

However, during the Ruthless Aggression Era, Lana could have been the biggest star in the division. The focus was far heavier on over the top characters, and with Lana's quality promo ability, she would have thrived.

9 Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler Promo

Dolph Ziggler has always been a strong promo and that is something that would have led to him being a bigger star during the Attitude Era. He's had a good career so far, but Ziggler should have been a main event star throughout his entire career.

In the Attitude Era, that would likely have been the case. He could have shown a lot more arrogance and really trash-talked with a lot more confidence, which would have made it a better period for him.

8 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman has had some good success in WWE, but he's not exactly dominated the main event scene winning titles as he could have in other eras. The New Generation Era would have been the perfect time for Strowman to be involved.

He would have stood out far more during that time period, purely due to his size. Nowadays, WWE has a lot of big wrestlers, and they aren't always pushed, yet in the New Generation Era, being of that size would have guaranteed him a huge success.

7 Ricochet

Ricochet

Ricochet is an amazing wrestler who is able to do things inside the ring that nobody could have ever thought about in the past. However, while it led to him being a big deal in NXT as well as outside the company, on the main roster it has been tough going.

In the Attitude Era, Ricochet could have thrived, particularly for WCW. The cruiserweight division of WCW was one of its big advantages over WWE, and Ricochet would have been a perfect fit in that role.

6 Dana Brooke

Dana Brooke WWE

Another wrestler who would have been great in the Attitude Era is Dana Brooke. She's someone who is making massive improvements inside the ring currently, but one thing that is often overlooked is how physically impressive she is.

This wouldn't have been overlooked in that era. Chyna was proof that WWE was very happy to push that element of women's wrestling at the time and that could have really helped Dana be a much bigger deal than she is right now.

5 Elias

Elias in WWE

Elias is certainly on the rise in WWE and is going to have a great career. However, in the Attitude Era, he really could have gone the extra mile with his over the top gimmick being something that would have suited the time.

His musical moments would have been massive, being able to frustrate the likes of Steve Austin or Triple H. It's easy to imagine Elias in that era, where the focus was more on character than wrestling.

4 Titus O'Neil

Titus O'Neil has got the look of a top WWE Superstar, but in such a competitive era where in-ring ability is the absolute paramount, he's not been able to thrive as he could have. However, had he been in the Golden Era, it's easy to see why Titus would have done well.

He's got a lot of personality and that would have led to a great character being created for him. Plus, his size would have made him fit in easily in an era that was dominated by bigger wrestlers.

3 Aleister Black

Aleister Black

Nowadays, outside of The Fiend, there aren't that many over the top characters or dark and eerie gimmicks. However, back in the Attitude Era WWE was full of them, especially with the Ministry Of Darkness running wild.

This would have really suited Aleister Black as his character is something that would have connected much better during this period. Add in what he can do inside the ring and Black likely would have thrived.

2 Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe WWE

Samoa Joe arguably hit WWE a little too late in his career, which is a real shame. He's still made a great impact in the company but had he been in the Ruthless Aggression Era, Joe could've been one of WWE's all-time greats.

Joe likes to work a very physical style. He wants to talk trash and get personal and the current era of WWE just holds him back a little. However, had he been around then when Vince McMahon was pushing his talent to show some fire, Joe would have grabbed the brass ring and never looked back.

1 Robert Roode

Robert Roode

Robert Roode is a true throwback of a wrestler, working a much more methodical pace than many other people on the roster. This is why he would have been a great fit during the Golden Era, where the wrestling style would have really suited him.

Right now, WWE is hesitant to make him a main event name, mainly because his matches are much slower than what fans expect. However, in the Golden Era of wrestling, this wouldn't have been a problem at all and Roode would have certainly thrived.
