WWE currently has one of the best and easily the deepest roster of all-time, but with all that talent comes plenty of turnover, and as we head into the end of the year and the beginning of WrestleMania season, expect that to start happening. We know that WWE likes to promote NXT stars after WrestleMania, but this year, we expect some to come earlier, and then, the inevitable big indie star replacements on NXT will follow.

While this is great for the performers who have become stars in NXT or on the independent scene, unfortunately, this means that some people are going to lose their job for this to happen. Whether it be tag teams, men, women or even announcers, there is plenty of room for improvement in WWE. While hile we hate to see people lose their job, some of these people just aren’t up to scratch.

So, sit back and read along as we analyze 10 WWE debuts that are coming in the next few months and 10 releases that will subsequently occur.

20 Debut: Aleister Black

via wrestlingnewsworld.com

Many feared that the former Tommy End would struggle to get his unique personality across on WWE screens, but he’s done nothing but impress everyone during his time with NXT. Unfortunately, that’s now coming to an end. His aura is something that few have garnered during their time with the developmental brand, and with a need to fill the main event slot on RAW, you need mid-card acts, and for now, that’s a spot Black can take. Sure, like many others, he’s not going to be handled too well on RAW, but Aleister has the talent and personality to be a star, so expect him on RAW by WrestleMania, and expect him to be thrown straight into the Intercontinental Championship feud.

19 Release: Alicia Fox

via 24wrestling.com

If you didn’t catch WWE’s first all-women’s PPV Evolution (which you definitely should have), you would be excused for not realizing that Alicia Fox is still with the company, because she has done nothing of note in quite some time. For her time, Fox was quite talented, and definitely worthy of being a WWE Diva, but the times have changed, and with so much talent ahead of her, there’s just no room for her anymore. It would be easy to sell her short because she doesn’t match up with many of today’s women, but Fox was quite a good performer, and if given the chance, could likely still hang in there. However, the fans have given up on her, and in short order, the WWE will too.

18 Debut: Punishment Martinez

via onlineworldofwrestling.com

For years now, WWE have been poaching talent from ROH. Names such as Adam Cole, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan and more. One of the most recent examples is Punishment Martinez, and while he doesn’t carry the name that the others do, he’s still incredibly talented. He’s already begun performing on the NXT circuit, so it’s only a matter of time until he brings his rough and rugged style to the yellow brand, where he will become a big star. Sure, he’s not Matt Riddle or Keith Lee, but Martinez could play a great villain to oppose those guys, and it will serve him very well in the WWE.

17 Release: Breezango

via 411mania.com

The duo of Tyler Breeze and Fandango are incredibly talented, but WWE has struggled to find something for them in recent years. Even when they became the hottest act on SmackDown Live, WWE pushed them right back down. It’s unclear why they would do this, as the weekly "Fashion Files" segments were absolutely fantastic, but with their jump back to RAW, it’s clear that their careers went on the downslide again. With charisma and in-ring talent like these two possess, they could become stars on the independents, and they might have to once WWE release them to make room for one of the many talented teams waiting down in NXT.

16 Debut: Juice Robinson

via sportingnews.com

The man now known as Juice Robinson has been in NXT before, but he was released, and after spending several years in New Japan finding his way, it’s about time he comes back to the place where he was once known as CJ Parker. Sure, he’s finding his way in New Japan, but he’s never going to reach the top there, and with his charisma, promo skill, and improved ring work, NXT would push him to the moon. It can’t happen within the next few months, but before 2019 is out, expect to see him back in the WWE. With the rise that Drew McIntyre has made in his return, expect something very similar from Juice.

15 Release: Sin Cara

via fanpop.com

These days, we see Triple H projects all over the WWE, and most of them have succeeded. His first big one was a massive failure, and that was Sin Cara. He was originally played by CMLL’s Mystico, but due to a bad attitude and violations of WWE's policies (plus some very bad botches), he just didn’t work out, and he’s now played by the former Hunico. Hunico is a great wrestler, and he did a great job as Sin Cara alongside Kalisto in the Lucha Dragons, but there’s just no place for him in the WWE anymore. Especially with the Lucha House Party being so successful. It’s only a matter of time until the company moves on.

14 Debut: Brody King

via amusicblogyea.com

Aleister Black has become a star in NXT with his unique look and aura, and while you can’t directly compare he and Brody King, they do share similarities in look. King will be every bit the star that Black has been in WWE. King is a very large, athletic and physically dominant performer, and has reportedly drawn interest from every wrestling promotion in the world, but at the end of the day, the WWE will always win out. We’ve been seeing guys debut as soon as they sign lately, and Brody is no different, because he’s already at the WWE level, so keep an eye out for him in the near future.

13 Release: Tamina

via wwe.com

Recently, Tamina again emerged from a long hiatus to play a minimal role in the Women’s Division, and after what happened recently with her new partner Nia Jax, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them both released, even with WWE playing up Jax's "Face Breaker" reputation at Survivor Series. Tamina has been with the company for a decade now, but she hasn’t yet made a meaningful impact despite her heritage, and if it hasn’t happened by now, it won’t happen anytime soon. Sure, they would add another tag team to the potential Women’s Tag Team Division, but with The IIconics, The Riott Squad and others, they really aren’t needed. This could be the last run of Tamina’s disappointing career.

12 Debut: Chelsea Green

via thechairshot.com

NXT has been getting better and better over the last year, but the one place it needs a bit of a refresh is the Women’s Division, and following the second Mae Young Classic, there are plenty of options. Mia Yim, a MYC standout, has already debuted, and we’ll talk about another later, but this has meant that the signing of Chelsea Green has gone way under the radar. Green has been impressing all over America over the past few years, especially with Impact Wrestling. Within the next few months, the Hot Mess is going to make her mark on NXT.

11 Release: Primo and Epico

via wwe.com

Until the announcement of the tag teams competing for RAW and SmackDown Live at Survivor Series, many people would have completely forgotten that Primo and Epico are in WWE, and we can’t blame you. Over the years, they’ve had many gimmicks from bullfighters to glorified travel agents, but with the stacked NXT Tag Team Division waiting, it’s just time to finally move on. The company had the chance to do something special with them at the brand split if they opted to bring back Carlito, but they missed the boat, and simply put, they just aren’t good enough to hang in WWE anymore.

10 Debut: Tommaso Ciampa

via pinterest.com

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano both debuted in NXT with little going for them, but #DIY quickly became the most popular act in the company, and now, both men are the biggest stars on the brand. Johnny has a story arc that is going to keep him in NXT for a little while longer now, but Ciampa is on the cusp of a call-up, and it’s going to happen before WrestleMania. Sure, there are already some great heels on SmackDown Live, but Ciampa is on another level. He has the presence and aura that makes him a star no matter what, so keep your eye out for Tommy Entertainment in the near future.

9 Release: Mojo Rawley

via gramunion.com

NXT has signed and developed many talented independent stars over the years, as well as bringing many homegrown stars to the fore, but one that hasn’t panned out at all is Mojo Rawley. With Zack Ryder, The Hype Bros had a bit of potential as a tag team, but on his own, Rawley just doesn’t have the talent to hang with the WWE’s best, and it’s easiest just to let him move on. With all the talent waiting down in NXT, Rawley just can’t find his place on RAW, and it’s not going to happen anytime soon, so it’s easier for the company just to move on.

8 Debut: Kassius Ohno

via wwe.com

As Chris Hero, Kassius Ohno travelled the world and became arguably the greatest independent wrestler of all-time, but his WWE career thus far hasn’t turned out nearly as well. Sure, he’s had some great matches in NXT, but because of his age, it seems they are unwilling to push him on the yellow brand, so he needs his chance on RAW to prove that he can still be a Superstar. In terms of look and athleticism, Ohno is perfect for any division in the WWE, and he would be a perfect addition to the mid-card on RAW to add depth and match consistency, and would open up so many dream matches with that roster.

7 Release: Sonya Deville

via heightline.com

WWE’s Women’s Division is as good as it’s ever been, and that means that more eyes are on the product. If you aren’t up to scratch, you may be released, and that’s likely what is going to happen to Sonya Deville. It’s clear WWE was high on her, as she was promoted to RAW with the returning Paige, but since her career-ending injury, Deville has been left on her own, and it’s clear that she’s just not up to the level of others. Sure, they could be patient with her, but letting her go out to the independents and learn that way would be much easier, because there is too much talent waiting down in NXT for Deville to continue holding her spot.

6 Debut: Io Shirai

via youtube.com

A lot has been made about the women in WWE as of late, and rightfully so, but with all the highlights that have been garnered by Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, and others, people are completely overlooking arguably the best female wrestler in the world, Io Shirai. She has technically made her WWE debut, but the company is yet to list her on the active performers list down in NXT, but with NXT needing some new female blood, she is the perfect candidate. Sure, her matches aren’t going to be as brutal as they were in Japan, but she has the talent, the look and the presence to be a big time star, so expect her to be on your screens regularly before the Royal Rumble Takeover.

5 Release: Apollo Crews

via caq.fr

In theory, Apollo Crews has everything that a performer in WWE needs to be a Superstar, but due to him being rushed through NXT and failing to develop a true character, he has struggled to stand out. It's true that he has the athleticism that still amazes the audience, but without any substance behind it, it’s just pointless, and it won’t surprise anyone to see him released in the near future. We’ve seen both EC3 and Drew McIntyre leave the company and return in much higher standing, and if he truly cares about becoming a worldwide star, he will need to work on his many weaknesses.

4 Debut: Ilja Dragunov

via youtube.com

It’s been said time and time again, but the U.K. wrestling scene is currently one of the hottest in the world, and it’s producing a high amount of talented performers from WxW, with the top of them being Walter and Unbesiegbar, Ilja Dragunov. He’s beginning to make his way around the world with promotions like PWG, but it’s only a matter of time until he breaks out as a worldwide star, as his intensity and hard-hitting style are matched by few in the entire world. He just competed in Germany’s first ever WWE tryout, and the company should be just as impressed as we all are, meaning that he will soon be one of NXT’s hottest young stars.

3 Release: Byron Saxton

via wwe.com

WWE has a lot of criticisms against it these days, but one of the main ones is the quality of commentary, and while that doesn’t fall solely on the shoulders of Byron Saxton, he is a big example of it. A lot of bad commentators have graced the desk over the year, but none of those have actively taken away from the action quite like Saxton, and it’s time to let him go. Returning to a two-person booth would be the best option right now for the WWE, and while that’s not the route they’ll go, they at least need to get rid of Saxton and give a younger announcer the spotlight.

2 Debut: Lars Sullivan

via blogspot.com

NXT these days has become a ground for indie superstars and talented homegrown WWE performers to merge and create magic, but it’s getting rather crowded as of late, and that means someone has to go. Lars Sullivan makes the most sense. You’ve got several guys chasing the NXT and NXT N.A. Championship with the likes of Matt Riddle, Keith Lee and others still finding their footing, and it’s clear that Sullivan just doesn’t fit in. Where he does fit in, however, is the main roster, because of his size,  strength and athleticism. He's already being advertised in vignettes on RAW, so Lars could be the next big thing if he’s treated right up there.

1 Release: Jinder Mahal

via wwe.com

Much has been made about performers like EC3 and Drew McIntyre leaving WWE, reinventing themselves, and returning in higher standing, but Jinder Mahal comes in at the opposite end of that spectrum. Sure, he was WWE Champion, something that never would have happened during his first run, but he was just plain. Outside of his look, he hasn’t improved on anything. Mahal was once held in high regard on SmackDown Live by management, but it’s clear that he wasn’t up to it, and since returning to RAW, he’s slotted back into the enhancement talent role that he’ll likely fill until they move on from The Modern Day Maharajah.
