The Dudley Boyz are synonymous with putting people through tables and having physical brawls. Moreover, their trophy cabinet is ridiculous as they became the first team to win the WWE, WCW & ECW Tag Team Championships. They made a name for themselves in ECW but they joined WWE in late 1999 and continued to create history.

There's no doubt that the WWE Hall of Famers has a legitimate claim to be the greatest tag team in WWE history. The Dudleyz took part in some groundbreaking matches alongside their rivals The Hardy Boyz, Edge, and Christian. Sadly, there have been times where The Dudley Boyz's booking has raised eyebrows, and they have been involved in a lot of nonsensical moments.

10 Not Feuding With The Brothers Of Destruction During The Invasion Angle

Dudleyz v Brothers of Destruction No Way Out 2001

Inevitably, The Dudley Boyz joined The Alliance during the poorly booked Invasion angle due to their previous ties to ECW. Furthermore, championship reigns during this time frame were meaningless with the number of title changes that were happening on a regular basis.

Whilst, The Dudleys held the WWE Tag Team Championship for large portions of the Invasion angle, they should have feuded with The Brothers of Destruction. A feud with Undertaker and Kane certainly could have raised The Dudleys' profile. The Dudleys managed to beat The Brothers of Destruction for the gold but they were not in a lengthy program.

9 Failing To Win The World Tag Team Championship At WrestleMania XX

Dudley Boyz WrestleMania XX

The Dudley Boyz may be one of the most prolific tag team champions in WWE history but their record at WrestleMania is rotten. The Dudleys lost their Tag Team Titles in back-t0-back 'Manias to Edge and Christian and they failed to win the belts at WrestleMania X8.

Moreover, at WrestleMania XX, The Dudley Boyz had the home-field advantage in their World Tag Team Title match with Booker T and Rob Van Dam, La Resistance, Garrison Cade, and Mark Jindrak. The Dudleyz came up short once more but without a doubt, they should have gone over at Madison Square Garden for their first win at WrestleMania.

8 Spike Dudley As Their Boss

Spike Dudley

Shortly after WrestleMania XX, The Dudley Boyz were drafted from Raw to SmackDown. However, by the summer of 2004, The Dudleys were heels and they rekindled their relationship with their brother Spike.

Spike received an unlikely push, and he also turned heel after he captured the Cruiserweight Championship from Rey Mysterio. What's more surprising is that Spike became "The Boss" of The Dudley Boyz. It was nonsensical that The Dudleys played second fiddle to Spike, considering they used to make Spike's life a living hell.

7 Short Tag Team Title Reigns

Dudley Boyz

Between 2000-2004, The Dudley Boyz amassed 10 Tag Team title reigns which is a phenomenal achievement that included a record eight with the retired World Tag Team Championship. Whilst, The Dudleys were always in the title picture, the majority of their championship reigns were largely forgettable.

Their longest Tag Team Championship reign in WWE was in late 2003, which lasted for 84 days. The Dudleys brought relevancy every time they held the gold but they should have had a lengthy run with the straps.

6 D-Von Dudley Not Entering The 2015 Royal Rumble Match

Dudley Boyz return 2015

For the first time in a decade, Bubba Ray Dudley made a one-night return in the 2015 Royal Rumble match. Surprisingly, it was the first time that Bubba had ever featured in a Royal Rumble match but he received a gargantuan reception.

Unfortunately, D-Von Dudley did not return which made little sense. It would have been a heartwarming moment to see both Dudleys in the Rumble match together and they could have nailed their opponents with 3D. However, they made their full-time return as a duo on the Raw after SummerSlam 2015 but their push fizzled out a few months after.

5 Trading Tag Team Titles With Lance Storm & William Regal

Dudley Boyz v Storm & Regal Royal Rumble 2003

Lance Storm and William Regal were an underrated tag team in the Ruthless Aggression Era, and they put the World Tag Team Titles on the line against The Dudley Boyz. The two teams collided at Royal Rumble 2003.

The Dudleys ended up victorious but Storm and Regal had the last laugh on the following night on Raw. Eric Bischoff's Assistant Chief Morley made an impromptu World Tag Team Title match with Bubba Ray Dudley already gone through a table by Storm and Regal. They picked up the scraps and regained the titles, which made the title change at the Rumble pointless.

4 Stacy Keibler As Their Manager

Dudleyz & Stacy Keibler

The Invasion storyline saw strange alliances form in The Alliance. The Dudley Boyz thrived on their own but WCW alumni, Stacy Keibler became their valet. Keibler was known as The Duchess of Dudleyville, and she tried to blend in with The Dudleys by wearing outfits that were similar to theirs.

Whilst, Keibler being with The Dudleys looked out of the place, The Dudleys continued to have some sort of success with Keibler in their corner. At Survivor Series 2001, they unified the WWE and WCW Tag Team Titles when they beat their rivals The Hardy Boyz in a remarkable steel cage match. Nevertheless, The Dudleys always looked better on their own and did not need Keibler to be with them.

3 Losing Tag Team Titles To Spike Dudley & Tazz

Spike Dudley and Tazz

The aftermath of the Invasion angle was a mess but The Dudley Boyz were top of the pile as the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions. However, on the January 7, 2002 edition of Raw, The Dudleys were humiliated by the diminutive duo comprised of their brother Spike and Tazz.

This was a ridiculous title change as The Dudleys should have held onto the titles until at least WrestleMania X8. They failed to recapture the gold at the 2002 Royal Rumble but the tag team division was on a downward spiral.

2 Split In The 2002 Draft Lottery

Dudleyz draft

The landscape changed forever in the 2002 draft lottery on the March 25, 2002 edition of Raw. Ric Flair and Mr. McMahon were going back and forth to select their draft picks in their respective locker rooms.

Naitch drafted Bubba Ray to Raw, and McMahon acquired the services of D-Von to SmackDown. The Dudleys were frustrated with the brothers shaking hands and embracing each other. It made no sense for the tag team division to be weakened. The Dudleys spent eight months apart until they finally reconciled at Survivor Series 2002 with D-Von heading back to Raw.

1 Concrete Crypt Match With The Undertaker

Undertaker v Dudley Boyz

At The Great American Bash 2004, the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions The Dudley Boyz were handpicked by their old ECW boss Paul Heyman to clash with The Undertaker. They closed out the show in a Handicap Concrete Crypt match.

The whole storyline made no sense whatsoever with Paul Bearer locked in a glass box at the staging area. The Dudleys had some offense but the result was never doubted with Undertaker prevailing. He had the chance to save Bearer but he pulled the lever down with the cement "suffocating" Bearer but in reality, it was to get Bearer off TV to get surgery.
