WWE shocked the world a few weeks ago when Stephanie McMahon made the announcement that the women of WWE would take center stage on October 28th as part of Evolution, the first ever all-female pay-per-view.

The Women's Revolution has been one of WWE's biggest selling points over the past few years, but the company is aware that doing an all-female show could be a gamble. The addition of Ronda Rousey has done the Division a world of good and given that she is one of the most followed current WWE stars on Social Media, this is a good sign for the women ahead of the show.

While WWE will have many plans ahead of the first-ever all-women's pay-per-view, they will be aware that Impact Wrestling has already produced a show of this kind with their Knockouts Division that didn't hit the headlines so there are some things to definitely avoid. At the same time, the fact that the women have already made so much history over the past three years means that there will be a limit to what WWE can do on the show since there is so much that has already been done.

The following list looks at 10 things that WWE should definitely try to do as part of the first ever Evolution show, these are the things that the WWE Universe will be expecting, whilst there are also 10 things that the company should avoid. Evolution needs to be a huge success if the company wants it to become an annual thing which would only further boost the Women's Revolution and its following, which means that there are a few things that they definitely shouldn't try to incorporate.

20 Need To Do: Bring Back Gail Kim

via wrestleview.com

Gail Kim is one of the biggest names in women's wrestling and even though she's retired, she's still someone that the WWE Universe would like to see back at Evolution. Kim herself has commented on returning to WWE and stated that the only way she will return to the ring would be as part of Impact Wrestling.

Kim eliminated herself from a Battle Royal on WWE TV back in 2011 and hasn't looked back since.

She started an entire revolution in Impact Wrestling which then led to women being taken seriously and being pushed further up the card. Gail Kim is a huge name in Women's wrestling and should definitely be part of Evolution.

19 Should Avoid: An All-Male Commentary Team

via prowrestling.wikia.com

The Women's Revolution should extend to all of the women who are part of the backstage team in the company as well, which means that there should be women on the commentary desk and backstage too. The all-male commentary desk works well for SmackDown and Raw, but for a show that is all about women, there should be someone like Renee Young behind the desk too.

Summer Rae has even seemingly expressed an interest in returning to the company and doing commentary as part of the show so this is definitely an option for WWE if they decide to explore it. And of course, Beth Phoenix has done some commentary work as well recently.

18 Need To Do: Incorporate The UK Women's Division

via foxsports.com

The United Kingdom NXT show has been pushed over the past few weeks and has seen the likes of Toni Storm, Jinny, and Killer Kelly added to the roster who can definitely bulk up the division if the company allows these women to be part of the show on October 28th.

Of course, some of the women will be part of the show if they make it to the final of the Mae Young Classic, but if Toni Storm isn't one of the finalists in the second annual tournament, then it is unknown as to whether or not she and the other UK based women will be part of the show.

17 Should Avoid: Letting Stephanie McMahon Wrestle

via WWE.com

Stephanie McMahon has a feud ongoing with Ronda Rousey that began back at WrestleMania 31 when the former UFC star attempted to rip her arm out of its socket, whilst also attacking her husband.

The feud with Rousey has moved on somewhat in recent months ever since she signed for WWE, but the WrestleMania match was enough to prove that Stephanie shouldn't wrestle at Evolution.

The Commissioner of Raw can continue her feud with Ronda without stepping into the ring since she is the most powerful woman in the company, and should remain a figurehead for the revolution without actually being a part of it in a physical way.

16 Need To Do: Female Officials

via youtube.com

As already stated there should be an all-female presence across the board if WWE wants this pay-per-view to be seen as a landmark moment in the Women's Revolution, which means that the likes of Jessika Carr, who has proven her worth in NXT over the past few months as one of WWE's stand out referees should definitely be part of the show.

Of course, Jessika can't referee all of the matches on the night, which means that WWE would be expected to bring in some fresh female faces as officials, but there are enough on the indie circuit that could step in.

15 Should Avoid: Matches For No Reason

via wwe.com

One mistake that WWE makes when planning a pay-per-view usually is that they will add matches to the card in the last week even though there is no reason for them to happen.

This includes matches that take place on the kick off shows and just pit two stars that couldn't fit into the card against each other to fill time before the show starts.

The women's pay-per-view has more than two months to build up some watchable storylines so there is no excuse for the show to have matches between any of the women that don't have a reason behind them.

14 Need To Do: Title Changes

via wwe.com

The SmackDown, Raw and NXT Women's Championships will be on the line at Evolution and even though title changes don't have to happen in order for a show to be memorable, there should probably be at least one title change. The Mae Young Classic final will take place as part of the show which will give the fans something to cling to coming out of the show, but title changes are much more memorable.

It will be interesting to see what championship matches WWE puts together since Rousey and Baszler have been rumored to be part of a different match.

13 Should Avoid: Short Matches

via wwe.com

The Women's Revolution began all those years ago with the hashtag #GiveDivasAChance because the women were reduced to three-minute matches which didn't allow any of them to showcase their skills. This was the starting point for the revolution that the women have been pushing forward from.

The last thing the company wants to do is take a step backward when the Revolution has finally reached the point that the company has been heading towards since the summer of 2015.

The only way short matches would work on the show is if Shayna or Ronda are put in squash matches, which is highly unlikely.

12 Need To Do: Fantasy Matches

via wwe.com

There are so many matches that the WWE Universe have wanted to see ever since the Women's Revolution began and now that there are a handful of WWE legends returning to the company for the Evolution, it means that these matches can become a reality.

The likes of Trish Stratus, Lita, and Beth Phoenix have already been announced for the show which means that there will be generational clashes.

We could see the likes of Lita facing off against Sasha Banks or even Trish Stratus facing off against Charlotte to decide who the best women's wrestler in history really is. This is too good an opportunity for WWE to pass up.

11 Should Avoid: Bringing Back Women's Wrestlers Who Can't Wrestle

via wikiwand.com

WWE has already revealed that they will be looking to bring back a number of women for the show since the field is reported to be set to include around 50 women. This means that there will be a lot of women who can't actually be part of matches because they haven't wrestled for a long time. WWE should bring back these women but not allow them to be part of matches, they could be used as announcers or guest commentators on the show instead. This would open the scope for the women who can then be included in the show since there are many older female legends that could return but can't wrestle.

10 Need To Do: Bring Back Unsung Heroes Of The Past

via youtube.com

There are a number of female wrestlers that the company is expected to bring back including Trish Stratus, Lita, Michelle McCool, Jacqueline, Beth Phoenix and Ivory since they are in the WWE Hall of Fame, but there are many women who aren't part of the class and should be given a place.

The likes of Melina, Lilian Garcia, Jazz, and Layla also deserve to be recalled so that they can take their places in WWE history and bask in the history that they have helped to create at the same time.

There are many women who have helped to pave the road to the Women's Revolution and deserve to be recognized.

9 Should Avoid: Battle Royals

via pinterest.com

The Women's Royal Rumble was fantastic as a stand out match on the show since there had to be a winner to go on to WrestleMania to fight for the Women's Championship but if there was a battle royal on the Evolution show, what would the prize be?

There were rumors that WWE was going to create one so that all the women on the card could be involved but since there was only recently a women's battle royal at WrestleMania and there is no reason to have one as part of the card unless there is a reason for it.

8 Need To Do: Gimmick Matches

via wwe.com

This women's pay-per-view will be like every other pay-per-view that WWE presents on a regular basis, which means that every match can't just be a straight-forward singles match. There will be obvious gimmick matches on the card as well if the company builds up the pay-per-view right, but as already mentioned above, there needs to be a reason for these matches to happen.

It can't just be because there is a pay-per-view and the company believes that there should be a gimmick match, but because the natural progression of the feud needs it.

This could include Alexa Bliss or Carmella being forced to defend their title in a lumberjack match because they are both known to run away from challenges.

7 Should Avoid: Carmella/Alexa Bliss Walking In As Champions

via wwe.com

Alexa Bliss and Carmella are the current champions on WWE's main roster, but it's obviously a lot to ask the two women to carry a division that has easily been dominated by Ronda Rousey over the past year. Of course, if the two women aren't expected to be part of the main event then there shouldn't be a problem but if the company is hoping to have either the Raw or SmackDown Women's Championship main event then they should change the women who walk in with the titles.

Of course, the flip side of this is that WWE doesn't want to belittle their titles either by not having them as the main event so they could be booked into a corner on this one.

6 Need To Do: Focus The Attention On Ronda Rousey

via WWE.com

Ronda Rousey has been the focus of the Women's Division ever since she made her first appearance back at The Royal Rumble in January and has since delivered just as promised at both WrestleMania and Money in the Bank which has given WWE enough to prove that Rousey deserves to be in the main event picture or even the main focus of any show they are putting together.

There is currently a lot of speculation surrounding Rousey and the fact that WWE wants her to main event one of their traditional pay-per-views in the future, which shows how highly WWE obviously think of their latest acquisition.

5 Should Avoid: Long Winded Promos

via skysports.com

The women of WWE don't usually have a lot of time on the mic and whilst the likes of Alexa Bliss and Carmella have excelled on the mic over the past few months, Ronda has proved that she only has one level and it definitely isn't one of her strong suits.

A women's pay-per-view means that there will definitely be room for promos throughout and obviously announcements, but WWE needs to cut down on this.

There is already too much talking on their usual TV shows so hopefully the company won't have their stars delivering too many pay-per-views at the event itself.

4 Need To Do: Four Horsewomen Showdown

via ewrestling.com

The Four Horsewomen of NXT and the Four Horsewomen of MMA have been teasing a showdown for the past few years and now all eight of the women needed for this tag match are part of WWE. Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke have recently made their debuts in NXT and could be brought in to team with Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler against Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Bayley and Becky Lynch.

This is the match that many fans have been excited about for more than a year since the women had a showdown at the Mae Young Classic last summer, so hopefully, WWE will give the fans what they want.

3 Should Avoid: Over Using The Bella Twins

via wwe.com

The Bella Twins have been the face of the Women's Division for almost a decade and are well-known outside of the wrestling business which is why they are always invited back to the company for big events.

Nikki and Brie were part of the last three women in The Royal Rumble earlier this year and fans were genuinely afraid that WWE was going to allow Nikki to win the match and make history.

WWE needs to remember that The Bella Twins are a throwback to the old Women's Division and haven't had a lot of input in the Women's Revolution over the past few years.

2 Need To Do: Introduce Women's Tag Team Championships

via youtube.com

When Stephanie McMahon made the announcement that the women were going to have their own pay-per-view a few weeks ago, many members of the WWE Universe were convinced that the women were going to have Tag Team Championships at the same time.

It is thought that Evolution would be the perfect place for the company to bring in the titles if Stephanie was once again the one to unveil them and there could even be a mini-tournament as part of the show which would allow many of the women to get onto the card as part of a tag team.

1 Should Avoid: Having The Focus On The Wrong Women

via pinterest.com

WWE often does this, as already mentioned Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler and whoever holds the women's titles at this point need to have the focus firmly on them. Michelle McCool was the woman who had the most eliminations at the Royal Rumble, which does nothing for WWE since she isn't part of the current roster, and Nia Jax probably should have been given that accolade.

WWE needs to remember that even though these women are returning to be part of the show, they won't be part of events the following night and there needs to be a way to push the story forward.
