WWE has used food in various angles throughout the years to enhance storylines. The use of food is not common, but it has been popular in certain genres like the holiday themed episodes of Raw or Smackdown. There were even instances of food playing a role in the stipulation of a match. All the uses typically were meant to invoke comedy.

We will look back at the memorable moments of WWE having food in play. Each instance featured a storyline playing out in the match stipulation or the food fight creating new enemies. 10 Who pied Kevin Owens?

The Fourth of July is one of the main holidays where WWE likes to implement food if it makes sense. Kevin Owens was the biggest victim of an Independence Day backstage segment with various members of the WWE roster getting into a food fight.

The open of Raw featured the party getting out of hand with all the wrestlers throwing food at each other. It ended with the heel Owens believing he was the only one to get out of it without any damage before a mysterious figure pied him. We sadly never got to see which wrestler hit Owens with the pie.

9 Divas Thanksgiving gravy bowl matches

The women’s division often struggled to have credible matches in WWE due to the poor booking and insulting stipulations. Smackdown airing on Thursdays in the early years of the show would have Thanksgiving themed episodes for years.

The women’s division had a new annual match with the stipulation of them wrestling inside of a gravy bowl. Torrie Wilson was the main wrestler to have to work in the uncomfortable environment. The matches are extremely difficult to watch back when looking at the credible women’s division today.

8 Bellas get pied during date with John Morrison and The Miz

One of the first storylines for the Bella Twins featured two tag teams competing for their love. John Morrison and The Miz were the heels interested in Brie and Nikki Bella while the brothers of Carlito and Primo Colon wanted to win them over as well.

A memorable segment saw Morrison and Miz on a date with the Bellas. Primo and Carlito tried to disguise themselves as employees of the restaurant before accidentally hitting the Bella Twins with pies when aiming for Miz and Morrison.

7 Randy Orton throws coffee on Ricardo Rodriguez

A backstage fight between Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio made its way to the catering area. Orton would get creative by taking a container of steaming hot coffee and trying to throw it on Del Rio. It instead missed when Alberto ducked and landed on Ricardo Rodriguez.

The screams of Rodriguez amused the Viper after Del Rio got away. Interviewer Matt Striker tried to get a comment from Orton about his actions. The angry Orton decided to take Striker’s head and force it into a pie for his troubles.

6 Tiger Ali Singh makes enemy of Steve Blackman during Thanksgiving meal

One of the first backstage segments for a Thanksgiving meal created a memorable food fight during the Attitude Era. Heel personality Tiger Ali Singh was annoying others before accidentally hitting Steve Blackman with a pie.

Blackman responded by throwing him into a table and attacking his wrestlers D’Lo Brown and Chaz. The Dudley Boyz put Singh through a table and started a huge food fight with all the wrestlers getting involved in the action.

5 B-Team hosts Memorial Day tag team BBQ

A recent instance of WWE using food for a segment came during a Memorial Day bash hosted by Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas of the B-Team during their Raw Tag Team Championship reign. The tag division wrestlers were invited to the BBQ hosted by the B-Team.

Wrestlers would be disappointed by the cheap food offered by them along with the insulting comments. The promo naturally turned into a huge food fight with most fans having negative thoughts regarding the entire segment.

4 Ron Simmons ruins Santino's date with Maria

WWE tried to book a comedic double date segment with the pairs of Santino Marella and Maria Kanellis along with Ron Simmons and Jillian Hall. Santino was getting on the nerves of everyone at the restaurant with his over the top heel character.

Simmons decided to shut him up by shoving the waiter to drop the food on Santino in humorous fashion. The era of Simmons featured him mostly providing comedy saying the word “DAMN” when the timing was right as it was in this segment.

3 Pudding matches

Another diva tradition of a horrible stipulation match would see the ladies having to wrestle in a bowl of pudding. This match took placed a few times with the wrestlers trying to execute their moves in the slippery surroundings of pudding.

The worst instance of this came during a heated feud between Candice Michelle and Melina when both ladies were performing at a high level. Instead of having a real match for the Women’s Championship, they were forced to wrestle in pudding.

2 Food fight at Big Show's Thanksgiving party

The most memorable Thanksgiving food related segment of Smackdown came when Big Show hosted a dinner. As a face, Big Show wanted to have all his friends sharing a big dinner to appreciate the holiday and their cherished times together.

Heel rival Luther Reigns came out to anger Big Show by hitting his girlfriend Joy Giovanni in the face with a pie. Big Show lost it and used the food to get revenge in savage fashion. No wrestler is more intimidating in a food fight than Big Show was here.

1 Sable and Stephanie's vicious food fight

The rivalry between Stephanie McMahon and Sable took place on the Smackdown brand in 2003 when Vince McMahon hired Sable to be General Manager Stephanie’s assistant. Both ladies despised each other and tried to make life miserable for the other.

One memorable segment came when they got involved in a huge fight backstage. They eventually used the food spread in the area to attack and make a mess of each other. The feud had many negative moments, but this use of food actually added some entertainment.
