When someone mentions the Attitude Era, one belt usually comes to mind (no, not the Winged Eagle belt). The Harcore Championship was born once Mr. McMahon gave it to Mankind as a gift on the November 2, 1998 episode of RAW. The title became even more infamous after Crash Holly introduced the 24/7 rule in February 2000, as it was defended at all times as long as there was a referee present.

Until it was unified with the Intercontinental Championship in 2002, there have been a lot of wrestlers that won the title. The reigns weren't very long, yet there are 10 Superstars with surprisingly long reigns with the title considering how short most Hardcore Title reigns tend to be.

10 Rhyno: 34 Days

Rhyno had three different reigns with the Hardcore Championship that lasted a combined 49 days. However, most of that time was during his first reign. On the April 17, 2001 edition of Smackdown, Rhyno defeated Kane to win the Hardcore Title and held onto it for 34 days. During his reign, he defended the gold seven different times and on two pay-per-views. He defeated Raven at Backlash 2001 and won a triple threat against Test and Big Show at Judgment Day 2001. He would lose the Hardcore Championship the following night on RAW to Big Show. Unfortunately, this wasn't the start of a singles push in WWE as Vince McMahon didn't know what to do with him creatively.

9 Al Snow: 35 Days

There are many different scenarios to win the Hardcore Championship, but Al Snow started his final reign by being awarded the title by The British Bulldog on the September 7, 1999 episode of SmackDown.

Snow had three successful championship defenses including the infamous Kennel From Hell match against The Big Boss Man, a match on Sunday Night Heat with Mideon, and a random episode of Jakked against Steve Blackman. However, on the ninth episode of SmackDown, he lost the championship in a triple threat match with Boss Man and Big Show. Not the best reign but it definitely was memorable.

8 Test: 36 Days

Test had one of the longest Hardcore Championship reigns in WWE history. He won the title on the January 17, 2000 episode of RAW is War when he defeated The Big Boss Man. Test had one title defense against Gangrel before dropping the belt to Crash Holly on the February 22, 2000 episode of SmackDown. This also ended up being his second-longest reign of any championship in his entire career. He was a career mid-carder in the company and the Hardcore Championship fit perfectly with him.

7 Steve Blackman: 50 Days

When someone thinks of hardcore wrestlers, it's hard to not immediately jump to the legit badass Steve Blackman. He won his second Hardcore Championship against Boss Man on July 2, 2000 during a house show. He faced a myriad of opponents on RAW, SmackDown, Sunday Night Heat, and Jakked before losing the title against the future "The Best in the World" Shane McMahon in a shocker on the August 21, 2000's episode of RAW is WAR. The Hardcore Championship would end up being the only championship Blackman would hold in his wrestling career, but then again would you want to try to end his reign?

6 The Undertaker: 58 Days

The Undertaker has basically done everything a wrestler could do in their career and that includes winning this belt. His only reign with the Hardcore Title began after defeating RVD at Vengeance 2001 and he defeated Spike Dudley, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Tajiri, and Big Show during his reign in televised matches. On the February 5, 2002, episode of SmackDown, Undertaker lost the Hardcore Championship to the first Tough Enough winner Maven. One guy went on to never win another belt again and the other went on to be one of the most recognizable wrestlers in history. At least Maven can say he beat the Deadman...

5 Road Dogg: 61 Days

Oh, you didn't know? Road Dogg had a 61-day reign as the holder of the Hardcore Title. He began his championship reign by defeating Big Boss Man on December 28, 1998's edition of RAW Is WAR. He would defeat Val Venis, Mankind, Al Snow, and Gangrel. The match against Mankind was one of Road Dogg's greatest matches of his career. He was the third-ever champion so he became the first (and only) wrestler to have to vacate the championship at St. Valentine's Day Massacre: In Your House due to a beatdown backstage. Bob Holly defeated Al Snow at the pay-per-view to win the vacated title.

4 Steve Blackman: 89 Days

Guess who's back? Back again? Blackman's back, tell a friend. Steve Blackman was on a mission during his fourth Hardcore Title reign as he racked up the fourth-longest title reign with 89 days. This reign began at Unforgiven 2000 by winning a six-man battle royal for the title. He defeated some big names in championship matches including Christian, Edge, Kane, and Tazz. He was on a tear until December 22, 2000's episode of RAW is WAR where Raven defeated him to take the title. It's incredible people stepped in the ring with this guy.

3 Rob Van Dam: 90 Days

RVD is one wrestler who will always be remembered in the history books. He is the only person to win the WWE, TNA, and ECW World Titles and has proven to be one of the most successful of the ECW Originals. He kept his ECW ways when first arriving in WWE by going after the Hardcore Championship. He won his third Hardcore Title by defeating Kurt Angle on the September 10, 2001, episode of RAW is WAR.

He defended the championship against top-level wrestlers as he retained against Chris Jericho, Big Show, The Rock, Edge, Undertaker, both Dudley Boyz, Christian, and Matt Hardy. The reign came to an end at Vengeance 2001 when Undertaker won the title. The Whole F'n Show had one of the greatest F'n Hardcore Title reigns in WWE history.

2 Al Snow: 91 Days

Al Snow is back on the list with a better championship reign than he had before. This was Al Snow's first Hardcore Championship reign and it was one of the most impressive in the title's lineage. He won the title at Backlash 1999 against Hardcore Holly in a lengthy match. He then defeated head (a mannequin head), Hardcore Holly, Droz, and D-Lo Brown in televised matches. At Fully Loaded 1999, The Big Boss Man won the Hardcore Title to end Snow's reign at 91 days. Overall, Snow is a six-time Hardcore Champion, with his first title reign being his longest.

1 Big Boss Man: 97 Days

The WWE Hall of Famer has the longest reign as Hardcore Champion in WWE History at just under 100 days, even if people don't remember it. Big Boss Man won the championship in a triple threat match against Big Show and Al Snow on the October 10, 1999, edition of Smackdown and held it until January 17, 2000's Monday Night RAW. He had four successful title defenses against Al Snow, Faarooq, Kane, and The Godfather. Bossman is a four-time Hardcore Champion with his last reign being his longest.
