Hell in a Cell matches have become slightly tamer and less intense in recent years due to WWE creating a yearly PPV. This has led to feuds being forced into the stipulation when they don't always need it, which has led to less memorable matches. However, the stipulation is always brutal and it has led to some truly insane moments over the years.

It is known as the 'Devils Favorite Playground' for a reason, and throughout history, there have been some insane bumps in this stipulation. Whether it is inside the cell with a variety of weapons or simply using the cell structure itself, this match has created some insane moments. Without further delay, we will now be ranking the 10 most brutal bumps in the history of the stipulation!

10 Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose's Double Fall

We kickstart the list with a double bump at the same time between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. The former Shield men battled it out in 2014 during a feud that did actually feel worthy of the stipulation.

Battling outside of the cell, the two men decided to start scaling the outside but decided to start brawling halfway though. The pair then took a synchronised bump as they went crashing through the announce tables below. The spot did feel very pre-rehearsed, but that didn't stop it from looking fantastic. Taking bumps off the side of a cage at that height is a huge moment and it did help this match feel special.

9 The Screwdriver From Hell

This is a totally different style of a bump inside Hell in a Cell, but it was an equally horrid one. It wasn't a big drop or a highflying moment like fans expected from Jeff Hardy inside the cell, but it was a horrid moment to see. It won't have taken much off Hardy's 'bump card,' as this moment was all about his ear.

With Hardy having big holes in his ear for his piercings, Orton took advantage of the opportunity with a sickening moment. Taking a screwdriver into the hole inside his ear, Orton decided to twist the ear and wrap it around. He yanked it so many times that it seemed like Hardy's ear was actually going to split!

8 Becky Lynch's Hellish Dropkick

In recent years, WWE has started having women's matches take place inside the steel structure, and rightfully so. While Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks had the first match, it was Banks' match against Becky Lynch that was more impressive. The two women created some really innovative spots throughout the match that was really unique, and the best came with a huge dropkick in the corner.

Using kendo sticks and a steel chair to set Banks up, Lynch clearly had something nasty in mind. From there, Lynch flew off the apron with a huge dropkick that absolutely nailed Sasha. As always, Banks sold it to perfection which made the whole thing seem even more impressive.

7 Rikishi Goes Flying

The 2000 Armageddon PPV saw a Hell in a Cell match featuring some huge names as Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Rikishi, Kurt Angle, and The Undertaker all competed. Of course, a star-studded match like this was always going to have a major moment take place. With a huge flatbed truck sitting at the side of the cell, it was fairly clear that it would be used at some point.

While Rikishi and the American Badass brawled at the top of the cell, it would be the Samoan who took the fall. After a Chokeslam, Rikishi went flying off the cage and bumped down onto the sawdust, providing an insane visual.

6 The Chokeslam From Hell

Another amazing Hell in a Cell moment that The Undertaker was involved with also saw him use a Chokeslam to his advantage. As he and Edge battled inside the cell, the Deadman sent his opponent to the pits of hell itself.

Battling at the top of a ladder (for some reason), The Undertaker got the best of the situation as he hit a Chokeslam from the top. The brutal spot saw Edge not just fly from great heights, but also saw him go through the mat. To add to the situation, The Undertaker then summoned his powers as a huge ball of flames was shot up from the hole Edge had made.

Gotta love the Deadman.

5 The Undertaker Hangs Big Boss Man

Not every brutal moment has to involve a big bump or being launched off the cell itself as this one shows. However, even though it was an absolutely brutal spot, that doesn't mean it was a good one. After his match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 15, the Deadman actually wrapped a noose around Big Boss Man's neck and hanged him. Literally.

As the cell began to rise, the rope was tied to the roof and he was raised with it. Struggling for air, the noose began to (seemingly) choke him to death. This was a very shocking image to see on late night wrestling, to say the least.

4 "For The Love Of Mankind!"

Shane McMahon on Hell in a Cell roof

Seeing wrestlers be flung from the top of the cell is something fans always wanted to see after Mankind did it in 1998. But because of the danger involved, it is something that happens incredibly rarely. However, when Shane McMahon stepped inside with The Undertaker at WrestleMania, fans knew something mad was coming.

Shane is known for his insane spots and this is one of his craziest. He loves flying from the top rope to the announce table, but at WrestleMania, he took it one step further. Climbing the cell, Shane willing took a leap of faith only to crash and burn as Cole referenced the original moment by screaming, "For the love of Mankind!"

3 Cactus Jack Goes Through The Ring

Mick Foley has been launched through the actual roof of the cell twice during his career, and both times they have been horrendous bumps. While everyone will talk about when it happened against Undertaker, during his 'retirement' match with Triple H it was more impressive.

Working as Cactus Jack, Foley always took violence to new heights, and that is exactly what he did in this match. The whole bout is packed with insane bumps, but this one tops the lot. As Triple H sent him flying through the roof of the cell, Foley not only smashed off the mat, but he went through it. It made the entire thing even more insane to see and just showed the levels Foley is willing to go to.

2 Brock Lesnar Brutalises The Undertaker

The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar have competed inside Hell in a Cell on two occasions, and their first match was truly brutal. This feud really helped establish Lesnar as a true world class star as he brutalized the Deadman. The fact that he finished the night standing on top of the cell with the WWE Championship as blood poured from his head shows the signs of war.

The two men beat the hell out of each other throughout the entire match. It's one of the most brutal cell matches ever and picking just one spot would be hard to do. They used stairs, chains, handcuffs and more as they took things to a totally new physical level.

1 The Undertaker Launches Mankind Off The Cell

Many may have imitated it and tried to duplicate it, but there is nothing better than the original. Nobody can ever recreate the pure shock as The Undertaker launched Mankind off the roof off the cell to the floor. There was no cushioned landing here, unlike what's common practice today. Basically Foley just became one with the floor.

The bump and connection with the table and then the guard rail is simply one of the most sickening sights in the entire history of wrestling. Because fans had never seen anything like this before, there was genuine fear that Mankind was actually dead. That is how brutal the spot was, and it is one that will never be topped.
