WWE might be planning to add some Women's Tag Team Championships to their programming later this year, possibly by SummerSlam.

William Regal will be making a big announcement on NXT this week. Due to the show being filmed in advance most of us know already what that announcement is going to be. That at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans a new championship, the NXT North American Championship, will debut and six Superstars will battle it out to become its first ever holder.

While the North American Championship will officially be up for grabs on WrestleMania weekend, there are rumors that 205 Live will also be getting a new title once April 8th has come and gone. Well, new titles to be specific as there have been reports suggesting the cruiserweights will be getting their very own Tag Team Championships to compete for on 205 Live.

And that's still not all. According to a Reddit user called Belt Fan Dan, who was talking about the North American Title all the way back in August, he claims that WWE are working on introducing Women's Tag Team Championships and that they will likely debut sometime around SummerSlam. The women currently have just the two titles to compete for, one on Raw and one on SmackDown Live, but who knows how that might change once the PPVs go back to being co-branded after WrestleMania.

The women's division has certainly changed an awful lot over the past few years, all of it for the better. Female Superstars now have their own Money In The Bank, Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber matches and have been putting on some of the best female performances in wrestling history. The introduction of their very own tag division would be another welcome change and another opportunity for WWE's women to hit a home run.

2017 was a big year for WWE but 2018 is looking like it might be an even bigger one. So much has already happened in WWE and beyond for pro wrestling and we aren't even three months into the year. WrestleMania 34 is less than two weeks away and beyond that there is an awful lot to look forward to, especially if the cruiserweights and the women get their very own tag team divisions.
