WWE has tried to avoid referencing Dean Ambrose's name ever since he left the company last year to sign with the rival AEW promotion, and they took it a step further on Sunday.

Ahead of the 2020 Royal Rumble, WWE posted a graphic that acknowledged Seth Rollins' six Tag Team Championships. The post showed Rollins' title reigns with Jason Jordan, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Buddy Murphy. He won the titles twice with Ambrose.

But as noted here by Ringside News, WWE didn't bother to show Ambrose -- who won the Tag Team Championships twice with Rollins --  in the graphic.

It's obvious that WWE didn't want to acknowledge Ambrose here in any way. He and Strowman lasted less than a month as Raw Tag Team Champions together, and Rollins only captured the titles with Murphy on this week's episode of Raw.

Ambrose and Rollins captured the Raw Tag Ream Championships together at the 2017 SummerSlam pay-per-view, before dropping them to The Bar on the Nov. 6 edition of Raw. They regained the titles on the Oct. 22, 2018 edition of Raw, but AOP won them a week later after Ambrose split from Rollins.

Several weeks before WrestleMania 35, it was reported that Ambrose turned down a new contract and was planning to leave. WWE later confirmed this in a statement, and Ambrose left the company following The Shield's Final Chapter event on Apr. 22.

After leaving WWE, Moxley signed a multi-year deal with AEW, and he appeared at their Double or Nothing event in Las Vegas, and he has has since emerged as one of the company's premier main event stars.

WWE's Move Here Isn't Surprising

WWE has a long history of avoiding references from superstars who leave on bitter circumstances and/or for a rival promotion. That's why their decision to exclude Ambrose from the Rollins' post is unsurprising. He now works for a rival company, and you know officials aren't pleased about his decision to leave. Vince McMahon isn't used to losing premium talent these days, after all.
