With WrestleMania 36 over, WWE will now start building towards some new programs and feuds, especially in the main event scene.

Given Goldberg's status as a part-time performer, it's unlikely that he'll continue his feud with Braun Strowman. However, it sounds like a major feud could be brewing on the SmackDown Live roster.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Ringside News), WWE is going to "re-do" the Bayley and Sasha Banks feud. Meltzer suggested it will be a "slow build," likely for SummerSlam season.

WWE hinted towards a looming feud between Bayley and Sasha Banks during the fatal five-way elimination match for the SmackDown Women's Championship. The two got into an argument while Lacey Evans was still in the match, which led to Banks' elimination.

However, Banks attacked Evans and helped Bayley score the pinfall victory to retain her title, and they briefly celebrated together in the ring. But the seeds were planted for The Legit Boss to eventually turn on her longtime friend or vice versa.

A Bayley and Banks feud is long overdue. They briefly clashed in 2018, but just when it looked like they were finally about to enter a highly anticipated rivalry, the two managed to work out their differences after seeing a counselor (through the orders of then-Raw general manager Kurt Angle).

Bayley has already feuded with most of the top female talents on the SmackDown Live roster, including Evans, Carmella, Naomi and new NXT Women's Champion Charlotte Flair. There aren't a lot of other options for Bayley at this point, so it would be surprising if WWE didn't place her in a rivalry with Banks in the near future.

This Should Be Interesting

Both Bayley and Banks have been babyfaces for the vast majority of their tenures on the WWE roster. They have both succeeded as heels as well, but WWE can't keep these two together forever. They're among the premier talents on the roster, and fans have waited forever to see them in a long-term feud. It's only a matter of time until that happens, and it promises to be a top-tier program on SmackDown.
