As we fans of professional wrestling know, we're quick to judge what we watch on WWE programming from week to week. Many of us out there in the WWE Universe believe we can write better material, make better matches and create better ideas than the company itself does, so we're the first to be critical when WWE does something we don't immediately fall in love with. This is especially true when fans, acting as mock WWE writers, try to plan their own cards for WrestleMania.

This week, while the WWE did some amazingly cool things, they also gave fans plenty to moan and complain about. What is going on between "Woken" Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt? Did the company drop plans to air their match at WrestleMania? What's happening with Brock Lesnar? WWE looks like they might be making backup plans with some of its biggest stars in the event they have to push Lesnar's match down the card of he isn't there at all?

This and much more are some of the ways WWE screwed up this week.

WWE Teases Romantic Angle Between Roode and Charlotte

Romantic angles between competitors in WWE is nothing new. It's been a staple of the company for years and recently, WWE teased the idea between Nia Jax and Enzo Amore before Amore was released from his contract. Now, it looks like WWE has found two new partners in Booby Roode and Charlotte Flair. That would be a mistake.

Charlotte is one of WWE's best and brightest female competitor and she deserves a prime spot on the WrestleMania 34 card. Roode is playing the role of a babyface but since being brought up to the main roster should have been continuing on with this heel role he mastered in NXT. Having both of these talents focus on something as silly as a romance is a wrong direction to take them.

Romances for characters in WWE are often the kiss of death in terms of taking talents seriously. It's a sign WWE is at a loss and doesn't know what to do with two people so they put them together. Both Roode and Charlotte are better than this and while their chemistry is undeniable, there's no reason to take it to the next level by having them spark a romantic relationship. A stable or faction would have been a much better way to go.

Rousey's Finisher

To call the move Ronda Rousey put on Stephanie McMahon on Monday Rousey's finisher may be premature, but if it is, it's a terrible move. The maneuver itself could have been slightly botched because of the delivery and it being Rousey's first real wrestling move on a WWE stage, in front of a live crowd and on camera, but it smells too much like a modified Angle Slam and Samoan Drop and neither suit Rousey's personality well.

Rousey needs to develop a move-set that is easy to administer, connects her to the world of MMA and doesn't require she try to do too much too soon.

Gave Away Most of the Fastlane Main Event Free

via wwe.com

It's hard to understand why WWE will sometimes do this but on Tuesday's edition of SmackDown Live, they gave away 80 percent of the main event for Fastlane away for free. The only competitor not in the Fatal 5-Way match that will be a part of Fastlane's big match was John Cena but everyone else was.

WWE was likely already struggling to figure out how to get eyeballs on the Fastlane event and now that fans who watched SmackDown Live know what that event is likely to look and feel like, why tune in? All we need is the result which we can get by checking any internet site of WWE Twitter feed.

There had to be multiple other ways to promote that match for Fastlane without practically reproducing it less than one week early.

Hardy Compound Match Dropped From WrestleMania

via PWMania.com

There is some speculation that the Hardy Compound/Ultimate Deletion match has been dropped from WrestleMania and will be aired on an episode of Raw in the coming weeks. The match had the potential to save a very poorly written feud between Hardy and Wyatt and WrestleMania was the stage that made the most sense.

The only good news is that the match was already filmed in North Carolina and new hiree Jeremy Borash was overseeing the production. He has a profound knowledge of the "Broken/Woken" character and was one of the reasons it was so entertaining in Impact Wrestling/TNA. He could produce something that airs on Raw and is spectacular thus creating the need to see a rematch at WrestleMania 34.
