Everybody's got a price... at least, that is according to the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase. The Hall Of Famer is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time and someone who was a true heel in every sense of it.

Everybody is aware of what he achieved inside the ring. From his title reigns to his incredible promos, DiBiase did it all. But behind the scenes, there are many great stories about him that people aren't aware of and likely won't believe.

10 He Didn't Know He'd Become Champion

The way Ted DiBiase became WWE Champion was certainly unique. His character paid Andre The Giant to defeat Hulk Hogan and give him the title, with the Hebner Brothers also involved in the situation.

However, DiBiase didn't even know that it was happening until that very night. It's crazy to think what was arguably DiBiase's biggest moment was something that he had no clue about prior to that very evening.

9 He Really Bought Everyone's Meals At Restaurants

WWE boss Vince McMahon was firmly committed to the character of the Million Dollar Man, so much so that he wanted Ted DiBiase to be that gimmick 24/7. At several points, Ted and Virgil went for meals where he would then stand up in the restaurant and announce that they were paying for everybody.

Vince McMahon actually asked him to do that and WWE would then reimburse them for the money. It's a crazy sign of commitment, but it shows just how dedicated both the company and DiBiase were to making the character of the Million Dollar Man work.

8 He Always Got First-Class Service

Being able to pay for meals wasn't the only crazy thing that WWE gave him, as the company really did go all out to make his gimmick work. That's why Ted DiBiase was always flown on a first-class ticket, and he always had limousine service.

It was a treatment that other wrestlers didn't get at the time and rarely have been given at any point in time. It showcases just how much WWE believed in him, with the money spent on DiBiase being truly incredible.

7 He Borrowed Vince McMahon's Cape

Fans will likely remember the fantastic backstage segments with Virgil where Ted DiBiase ended up with a cape. It was something that really added to his character and made him seem even more pompous, which was superb.

However, what a lot of people don't know is that it was Vince McMahon's very own cape and not just some prop that WWE bought; it was actually in his closet!

6 He Only Used $100 Bills

Another example of how Ted DiBiase committed to the gimmick behind the scenes was the fact he was always given $100 bills to use, regardless of what he was buying. Vince wanted people to think he was very rich and he was made to use the money even when buying small items.

It was done as a manner of showing off, which helped work for his gimmick, but it showcased just how far the company went to make him work -- even if it was a ridiculous detail.

5 Virgil Showed Up At Ted's Autograph Signings Uninvited

Virgil played a massive part of Ted DiBiase's gimmick over the years and he is certainly remembered well from that time period with the Million Dollar Man. However, that doesn't mean things between them have always been great.

Something many fans might not know is that Virgil had a period of time where he would add himself to DiBiase's autograph signings, regardless of whether or not he was invited. Things became tense between them, with DiBiase not appreciate him doing that.

4 He Indulged In Adultery

Unfortunately, the rock and roll lifestyle of wrestling isn't always harmonious when it comes to having a married life, and that was the case for Ted DiBiase. He was caught cheating on his wife with multiple women, which is something he has admitted was the lowest point of his life.

Fortunately for Ted, he was able to save his marriage. However, his adulterous past is something that fans often don't know about the Million Dollar Man, as they just look at him as a wrestling hero, never seeing the potential flaws.

3 He Became A Preacher

For a man who used to drink heavily and take drugs, which Ted has openly admitted to doing in the past, becoming a fully-fledged Christian is certainly a big change. However, that's what DiBiase needed in his life and he went on to make it happen.

Ted didn't just go to Church to pray, though, as religion became his main calling. It's something many people don't know about him, but the wrestling legend is now a Minister who gives preaches in church, helping others the way God helped him.

2 His Iconic Laugh Was Unplanned

While Ted DiBiase achieved plenty within his wrestling career, something that ended up becoming his biggest achievement was the laugh he created for the character of the Million Dollar Man. Fans remember the laugh well and it is one of the most well-known phrases in wrestling.

The laugh wasn't something that was pre-planned, as it was something that just happened to come from DiBiase when he did a few laughs during some press interviews. Vince heard it and loved it so much that he demanded Ted do it all the time.

1 He Signed With WWE Before Knowing The Gimmick

Ted DiBiase The Million Dollar Man

The gimmick of The Million Dollar Man was truly one of the greatest characters in wrestling history. It was always going to be a megahit and Vince McMahon clearly knew that. Because he wanted to keep this character a secret until the time was right, Vince actually refused to tell Ted about it before he signed with WWE.

The WWE Chairman wanted DiBiase under contract first to ensure that he wouldn't suddenly refuse to sign and then go take the idea elsewhere. It's a crazy moment of commitment and creative integrity, but DiBiase believed in Vince that much he put pen to paper before even knowing what awaited him. The rest, as they say, is history.
