Rumor: WWE Plans For MASSIVE Set Of Names For Hall Of Fame

WrestleMania 34 is less than four months away, which means we're nearing the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Of course, WWE has yet to announce who this year's inductees will be. We should get that announcement some time in the early new year.

There are still many incredible talents who have yet to receive the honours. But Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), reported that Goldberg and The Dudley Boyz are among the names that have been mentioned to receive the call. Batista was also rumored, but his interest in returning to the WWE could put that on hold, Meltzer noted.

If Goldberg is among the 2018 inductees, you can bet there will be some fans scratching their heads. But remember, WWE inducted Sting - even though he wrestled just two matches for the company.

Goldberg was a major star in WCW, but also saw some success in the WWE. He won both the Universal and World Heavyweight Championships once, and squashed Brock Lesnar at last year's Survivor Series pay-per-view.

As for The Dudley Boyz, it's safe to say that they're more than deserving of being in the Hall of Fame. There are very few tag teams who reached the same level of success as Bubba Ray and D-Von. They won 10 Tag Team Championships during their tenure in the WWE, and revolutionized the tables smashing/hardcore style of wrestling.

2017's class featured Kurt Angle, Theodore Long, Beth Phoenix, "Ravishing" Rick Rude and Diamond Dallas Page. Notable wrestlers who've yet to get inducted include Owen Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Ivan Koloff, Bruiser Brody and The Dynamite Kid.

Every year, four-to-six wrestlers get inducted. If Goldberg and The Dudley Boyz are to receive the honour, then it's anybody's best guess who the others are. It won't be long until we find out, though.
