Kevin Owens went great lengths to confront AOP during last night's episode of Monday Night Raw, but to say it didn't go as planned would be a massive understatement.

Owens went backstage and used a pipe to damage the vehicle that AOP had arrived in. Akam and Rezar appeared moments later and brutally attacked a defenseless Owens. Seth Rollins, who was hiding in the vehicle, appeared and helped AOP beat Owens to a pulse, thus cementing another heel turn.

The Prized Fighter was then taken away on in an ambulance, and Rollins put a cherry on top of the heel turn by cutting a passionate promo in which he berated the WWE Universe for not appreciating everything he did.

On Tuesday, WWE.com provided an update on Owens' status. He is set to go through "a battery of tests" following the attack. There was no word about what sort of injuries Owens may have suffered.

One day after Team Raw had failed at Survivor Series, Rollins berated his fellow superstars and attacked Owens, teasing a heel turn. However, The Architect tried making peace with him and the WWE Universe last week, only to flip again and betray Owens and his fans once again.

WWE has been pushing Owens as a top babyface for several months now, dating back to his feud with SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon. Having adopted Steve Austin's signature 'Stunner' finisher, Owens is seeing his popularity soar through the WWE Universe.

There was never going to be room for both Owens and Rollins to carry major babyface roles on Raw, and with the latter's popularity as a good guy declining, it only made sense for WWE to turn him heel.

What's Next For Owens?

It remains to be seen if Owens and/or Rollins will be added to this Sunday's TLC pay-per-view card. If not, it won't be long until they clash in the ring, as the two are being advertised for a singles match at the Dec. 26 event in Madison Square Garden. This looks to be the next primary feud on Raw, and it's certainly off to a strong start.
