In the ever-changing world that is professional wrestling, especially in the big leagues of WWE change is constant and inevitable. Whether it be storylines, gimmicks, fan perception or simply Vince McMahon's constantly changing mind, wrestlers go through a rollercoaster ride throughout their careers.

Very few will be lucky enough to arrive on top and stay that way throughout time, with WWE Superstars constantly going from the flavor of the month that is pushed to the moon, to all of a sudden fighting for five minutes of TV time.

Wrestlers can be pushed one moment and buried the next depending on a variety of reasons and that is why it is crucial for WWE Superstars in particular to always bring their A game to the table. We expect to see the most changes on the main roster immediately after WrestleMania every year, as the WWE tends to have their brand draft around that time and releases tend to happen around that time as well. In addition, a wrestler's role at WrestleMania is usually a good indication of just how much the higher ups value certain stars.

Sometimes, all that needs to happen is a simple brand change, and at some point in 2019 that will take place again, whether it be in the form of a traditional draft or simply random moves to suit storylines and that can totally change a wrestlers career. Within this article, we will be looking at seven wrestlers who may change brands next year, seven who will be totally buried, and seven that might be pushed.

21 Push: Dean Ambrose

via Twitter.com

The Lunatic Fringe has returned recently and has never looked better, feeling fresh after a break from being on TV constantly and the WWE Universe is once again firmly invested in Dean Ambrose as a character.

Right now he is being held back slightly with his work in The Shield as the standout stars are Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, but eventually, the trio will break up again and when that happens it should be Ambrose's time to shine.

WWE has already planted the seeds for the highly anticipated heel turn of Ambrose.

When that finally takes place things are only going to go up for him, with Ambrose having the potential to go all the way to the top of the card as World Champion once again.

20 Burial: Daniel Bryan

via wwe.com

Fans might not like to admit it, but things just haven't quite clicked for Daniel Bryan following his return from retirement. The magic has seemingly gone and the excitement that surrounded his return no longer exists.

Bryan is certainly a popular wrestler, but he doesn't seem to have the dedicated fanbase that he had once before, mainly because he is no longer the underdog, as the vast majority of the top stars in the company are now his size.

There is no doubt Bryan is always going to be featured by the company as he is still very popular, but whether he manages to get back to the heights of WWE Champion remain to be seen, but it isn't looking likely.

19 Brand Change: Charlotte Flair

via twitter.com

If current rumors are to be believed, Charlotte Flair's WrestleMania 35 opponent will be current Raw Women's Champion, Ronda Rousey.

In what would be a dream match between two of WWE's biggest stars, the company is going to have to make some changes in order for it to happen.

Right now the two women are on different brands and it is incredibly unlikely that WWE is going to move Rousey from Raw to SmackDown, and therefore that opens up the obvious option of Charlotte going back to the red brand.

However, Charlotte's move to Raw will likely not happen via the traditional draft, with The Queen being the current favorite to win the Royal Rumble and do just what Asuka did last year, swapping brands in order to challenge the former UFC star.

18 Push: Randy Orton

via youtube.com

At the start of 2018 few fans would have expected to want to see Randy Orton back at the top of the mountain, but after returning to his heelish ways that bring out the best in the Viper, that feeling has changed.

Orton seems to have a new lease of life and looks like he is excited to be in the ring every time he appears and his new attitude has gone down well, getting fantastic responses from the audience and there is no doubt management have seen that.

WWE has always gone to Orton when it comes to having someone reliable at the top of the card and it's unlikely those plans will change, and if he continues his excellent work, WWE will likely give him another run as World Champion.

17 Burial: Aleister Black

via pinterest.com

He may be a former NXT Champion, but it's fair to say his injury couldn't have come at a worse time and Aleister Black may find himself experiencing the same fate that another ex-top NXT star did in Hideo Itami, whose WWE career was hampered by injury.

Black has been overstepped as the top talent in NXT by the likes of Johnny Gargano and even the Velveteen Dream.

With more new names like Keith Lee rising to the top, Black might struggle to get back to the level he was on the show.

Should he be shipped to the main roster Black is sadly likely to get the same poor treatment as the likes of The Revival, simply because his microphone skills are not the greatest, but hopefully this doesn't happen as Black is far too talented to be buried.

16 Brand Change: The Usos

via wwe.com

The past two years have been very interesting for The Usos, going from being the hottest tag team on the planet with a new look and attitude to now barely managing to get any television time and sitting in the background.

The brothers have done nothing but put on amazing match after amazing match and they certainly deserve to be treated better than they currently are, but for one reason or another that isn't happening for them on SmackDown.

After spending the past two years on the blue brand it would be a smart decision to send the team back over to Raw and have them be a highly featured duo to showcase their incredible talent once again.

15 Push: Matt Riddle

via SI.com

Wrestling fans have been patiently waiting for the former UFC star, Matt Riddle to join the company and it has finally been announced that the King Of Bros will be part of the NXT roster moving forwards.

For anyone who has seen Riddle work before, you will know only too well about how incredibly gifted he is. There is no doubt that the company has major plans for him moving forward and you can expect him to be thrown into the title scene very quickly.

If things go well for Riddle he may even make his way to the main roster by the time that 2019 has ended, but either way, he is going to dominate everyone that he comes up against and you can pencil him in for a run as NXT Champion already.

14 Burial: Asuka

via wwe.com

It is crazy to think that Asuka holds the record for the longest unbeaten streak in WWE history when you think about how she is booked nowadays, going from dominant NXT Women's Champion to a comedy character.

And that is where the problem is, WWE books her in strange comedy spots playing off the fact she doesn't fully know the language, having her do silly dances when in reality she should be a total badass who strikes fear into the entire roster.

2018 has already seen the start of Asuka's slide down the card.

She's gone from winning the Royal Rumble, going from Women's Championship contender to a joke who barely gets given TV time and 2019 is going to see the continuation of that burial.

13 Brand Change: Paige

via wwe.com

Since the brand split returned one thing that WWE has yet to do is pull the switch on the General Managers, but 2019 feels like a great time to do that and having Paige as the GM on Raw could be a lot of fun.

Ever since she took over from Daniel Bryan as the leader of the blue brand, Paige has gone from strength to strength with her no-nonsense approach to dealing with talent, she could provide the stability that Raw desperately needs.

SmackDown is easier to watch because the show isn't orientated around the general manager, which offers up a change of pace. Raw really needs someone like Paige right now to help stabilize the show, and moving a GM would be a nice surprise.

12 Push: Bobby Roode

via youtube.com

Despite the fact he was one of the best heels in NXT history, creative made the strange decision to turn Bobby Roode babyface when he arrived on the main roster, playing up to the popularity of his song instead of focusing on his strengths.

His song is certainly Glorious but that is not all Roode is about, with his old school ability being something that WWE lacks.

As a heel, he can be a major player in the company and while too much damage has been done for him to ever be a World Champion, Roode would make an excellent Intercontinental Champion.

He is finally being featured once again teaming up with Chad Gable, but that will hopefully just be an angle to eventually get the heel turn that everyone wants to see, and WWE can finally get the best out of him.

11 Burial: The New Day

via sportingnews.com

This isn't specifically about the entire group, but just certain members who may not have as big of a 2019 as they have in previous years where they have been some of the biggest and most featured talents in the company.

The group have had an incredible run but lately, they have started to feel a little stale and the fan reactions are showing that, which is something WWE will soon notice and 2019 could very well be the time that the trio split.

If New Day does break up there will obviously be one member that will get a big push (hopefully Big E), but the other two who are left behind might not get the same treatment they have become used to.

10 Brand Change: Elias

via youtube.com

Out of every NXT call-up to this point, Elias has certainly been the biggest surprise, with most people expecting him to be a flop, but instead, he has proven himself to be one of the most effective heels in the entire company.

Elias has been given tons of promo opportunities which have allowed him to develop his character and his connection to the audience, but in terms of meaningful storylines, it's fair to say they have been lacking for him.

WWE might look to change that up with a role on SmackDown next year where Elias could easily become the biggest heel on a slightly less stacked show, ideally getting a chance to have a title run of some sorts.

9 Push: Sasha Banks

via cagesideseats.com

Ever since her epic feud with Charlotte Flair drew to a close on Raw, Sasha Banks has struggled to maintain her spot at the very top of the women's division, despite the fact she is one of the best in-ring workers in the entire company.

WWE simply needs to turn Sasha heel and allow her to embrace The Boss persona.

It was one of the best gimmicks that NXT ever created and there will be no choice but to push her, and 2019 seems like the time for that to happen.

Whilst she might team up with Bayley for a brief stint, eventually, the friendship will come to an end and Banks should be the one to make that happen, hopefully starting Sasha's rise back to the top, where she belongs.

8 Burial: Dolph Ziggler

via WWE.com

Everyone knows how the career goes for Dolph Ziggler; he gets a big push and shows everyone exactly why he is one of the best of his generation and then a few months down the line he ends up falling back down the card, simply being used to put over other talents.

Ziggler is currently enjoying the push part of that situation alongside Drew McIntyre, having had excellent feuds with Seth Rollins and his Shield brothers, which means down the line in 2019 he will likely fall down the line.

It's a shame that Ziggler will be buried but it seems like WWE simply doesn't know what to do with him and how to keep the Show Off at the very top, which is where someone of his talents belongs.

7 Brand Change: Seth Rollins

via wwe.com

Since the brand split returned Seth Rollins has spent the entire time on Monday Night Raw and whilst he has certainly done an incredible job, it is time to freshen things up for the Kingslayer and switch him.

Rollins has returned to his very best in recent months and placing him on SmackDown in 2019 would likely see him become a huge deal in the main event scene once again, with Rollins being a perfect fit for the WWE Championship.

If Seth was able to have a run similar to what AJ Styles has managed to do, then it could be exactly what he needs in order to finally prove he is good enough to be "The Guy," rather than just the incredibly talented wrestler.

6 Push: Bray Wyatt

via WWE.com

Despite his 50/50 booking, management loves Bray Wyatt and rightfully so. The man has so many positives it is untrue and it's a real shame that he hasn't been given the major opportunities that his work has deserved to this point.

Following Matt Hardy's retirement Wyatt has been held back while creative thinks of something new for him, which is a clear sign that WWE wants to protect his character and not just waste him.

This is an obvious sign that the company still values him as a major star and therefore whenever he does return, he will likely be featured in a prominent role and hopefully this time around, his actions will back on his words.

5 Burial: Shinsuke Nakamura

via Pinterest.com

He might have been the 2018 Royal Rumble winner who has had plenty of shots at the WWE Championship, as well as a run as United States Champion, but 2019 could be very different for the former NXT Champion.

Nakamura moved to the main roster with tons of hype and praise and it seemed like he was destined for the main event scene immediately, but for some reason, he just didn't connect the same way that he did with the Full Sail audiences.

With WWE barely putting Nakamura in any meaningful storylines, even when he is the champion, it seems like he is destined to fall down the pecking order and 2019 might be a much different year for the King Of Strong Style.

4 Brand Change: Finn Balor

via YouTube.com

Since Finn Balor joined the main roster he has been an exclusive Monday Night Raw superstar, not appearing on the blue brand at all, but 2019 could see a change to that with The Demon King being rumored for a change.

While Balor started his life on Raw as a complete megastar and seemed destined to be a huge deal on the show, things quickly changed and now he has fallen into simply being an average mid-card talent which is a huge waste of his abilities.

Pushing him to SmackDown where the wrestlers tend to be a little bit smaller and the focus is more on in-ring content could serve Balor well and might be just the change he needs in order to get back to the top of the card.

3 Push: Drew McIntyre

via wwe.com

From the moment that Drew McIntyre returned to the company, it was clear that management had high hopes for him.

He quickly rose to the top of NXT, becoming champion, only for his time in developmental to be cut short due to injury.

Upon return he was thrown straight into the main roster and into the main feud on Raw against The Shield, picking up the Tag Team Titles on the way, but whilst his spell with Dolph Ziggler is certainly enjoyable, the Scottish Psychopath is capable of much more alone.

McIntyre has everything WWE looks for in a World Champion, with the look, the charisma and the ability and 2019 could very easily be the year he finally lives up to his original Chosen One gimmick and becomes the World Champion.

2 Burial: Baron Corbin

via wwe.com

The Lone Wolf has become one of the top heels on Monday Night Raw with his Constable Corbin gimmick throwing him straight into the middle of the action as the acting General Manager, providing him with tons of exposure.

It has arguably been the greatest run of his career to this point and there's no denying that he has done well with what he has been given, but eventually, his time as GM is going to come to an end and it is at that point that things will change for him.

When it comes to Corbin simply being an active member of the roster again, the sad truth is that while he might still be featured, he is going to come off on the losing ends of those feuds and will go back to simply being a member of the roster.
