WWE has been toying with the idea of tiered experience on WWE Network with different price levels. The free version already launched.

For fans who were waiting and hoping to catch more WWE content but couldn't afford the $9.99 per month to subscribe to the WWE Network, there's good news.... kind of. Now you can watch a variety of content on WWE's free tier of the WWE Network.

By going to watch.WWE.com, you longer need to be logged into account to access some of the content. The issue is, there's not a lot of great free content available, at least not that you can't already find in other places.

The free tier homepage now allows you to access some unlocked content, just not much. This is a "very early, unannounced rollout" of the free tier, according to PWI. Essentially, this version was designed to beta test the free tier and find any potential issues before they officially launch it with more footage anyone can access.

If all goes well, that launch could come as early as next week. Should that go well, WWE may move to more tiered content that could include non-WWE programming such as independent shows in January of 2020. Rates would then increase for those tiers, possibly rising to $14.99 per month.

What Do You Do Until Then?

Our best advice is to play around on the Trending Now, Recently Added, and other carousels to see what you can find that's free to watch. You may only come across the same videos you've seen on YouTube, but it's a start.

Right now, the website is more like a promotion for the WWE Network than anything else, but there is content on it. Is it to the level where fans will be happy? Probably not.
