WWE is holding another Superstar Shake-Up and has already announced the dates as April 15-16 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. This comes just a short time after WrestleMania 35 and it will be a massively important one. The reason is simple. Fox is taking over SmackDown Live later this year and there is little reason to think that WWE will have much crossover between their shows since they will be on different networks.
It is also important to remember that Fox wants a very different show that Monday Night Raw. While Raw has always been about entertainment first and foremost, Fox wants the focus to be on the athletic competition and has already talked about crossing over promotion with other legit sports. With that in mind, here is a look at who should switch from Raw to SmackDown, and vice-versa, at the 2019 WWE Superstar Shakeup.
10 RONDA ROUSEY - TO SMACKDOWN
The biggest name that Fox has reportedly mentioned it wants to come to SmackDown Live is Ronda Rousey. This makes sense since she was one of the most famous and successful UFC female stars in history and her name alone will bring in viewers.
If Rousey sticks around with WWE after WrestleMania 35, expect her to be a heavy favorite to move to SmackDown Live in the next Superstar Shake-Up. However, there are rumors that she will take time off after WrestleMania 35, and if she does so, there is also a chance she never returns to a WWE ring.
9 THE IICONICS - RAW
The IIconics have a huge selling point when it comes to their tag team. They are possibly the most annoying wrestlers on either roster -- male or female. They spend more time talking on the mic as they walk to the ring, insulting anyone and anything they can think of then they do actually wrestling in some cases.
They are a solid heel tag team and one that can turn anyone against them and have the crowd trying to boo louder than they talk, which is not easy. They could be perfect for the bright lights of Monday Night Raw but might not fit into what Fox is looking for on SmackDown Live.
8 RICOCHET - TO SMACKDOWN
Right now, the NXT call-ups Ricochet and Aleister Black have been wrestling extensively on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live both and they are undefeated. Ricochet even just won his first singles match on the main roster by beating Jinder Mahal. It is impressive how these two men made such an impact in a short time when the NXT stars called up in January have done almost nothing.
There are some saying that Ricochet could be the star of 205 Live but that is not enough. Ricochet is a star in the making and will be huge on the main roster. His skills are reminiscent of AJ Styles and he has the charisma to carry him to the top. Ricochet will get put on one brand after WrestleMania 35 and it should be SmackDown Live.
7 KEVIN OWENS - RAW
Kevin Owens has been everywhere. He was on Monday Night Raw but made a move, telling everyone he wanted to move to SmackDown Live. He moved there in the last Superstar Shake-Up and then started feuding with Shane McMahon. He lost a match and had to leave SmackDown Live but Stephanie McMahon brought him to Monday Night Raw.
After undergoing surgery, he made his big return when Vince McMahon brought him out on SmackDown Live to get an immediate title shot against Daniel Bryan. He is now on SmackDown Live and is good there but Kevin Owens is at his best on Monday Night Raw and that is where he should end up.
6 FINN BALOR - TO SMACKDOWN
Finn Balor is one of the most successful WWE superstars of the last two years if you consider his win-loss record. Only Seth Rollins won more matches that Balor in 2018. He even won the Intercontinental Championship this year, although he only held it for a short time. The problem with Monday Night Raw is that it seems to be the land of giants.
No matter how great Balor is, and he was the first Universal Champion, he gets overlooked constantly on Raw. Moving him to SmackDown Live could put him into feuds with men like Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles and that could be what he needs to finally reach the success he deserves.
5 RANDY ORTON - RAW
Randy Orton has been on SmackDown Live for a few years now and seems to be coasting. His upcoming WrestleMania 35 match with AJ Styles seems like a solid way to end his time there and return to the major leagues of Monday Night Raw.
There is a lot of fresh stars on Raw than Randy Orton can move over and start fresh feuds with. Plus, if Seth Rollins is going to be the next WWE Universal Champion, Orton is a tailor-made contender along with guys like Drew McIntyre to line up for Rollins to feud with over the next year.
4 EMBER MOON - TO SMACKDOWN
Ember Moon came up to Monday Night Raw with a lot of promise from NXT but has done nothing at all since arriving. She wins most of her matches but she goes weeks without ever appearing on Monday Night Raw. Her talent is wasted and there are too many women on Raw to make room for her, especially with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair seeming to move to the Red Brand.
A move to SmackDown Live could be huge for Ember Moon. She could become a contender to Asuka and the SmackDown Live women's title. She is better right off the bat than Carmella and with the talent on the Blue Brand thinning out right now, she could be an instant star.
3 THE MIZ - RAW
The Miz is on a reality television show on USA Network with his wife Maryse called Miz and Mrs. It is a pretty popular show and is a lot more interesting in some ways than Total Bellas. If USA Network wants to continue to air the show, Miz will have to move to Monday Night Raw.
Since SmackDown Live is moving to Fox, Miz will need to be on the USA Network show to promote Miz and Mrs. The good news is that Miz is a mega-star in the ring and will not miss a step when he makes the jump. His WrestleMania 35 match with Shane McMahon should be the perfect send-off for Miz.
2 THE REVIVAL - TO SMACKDOWN
The Revival is the current WWE Raw tag team champions, but they don't really fit in with the landscape on Monday Night Raw. It is the fans of SmackDown Live that loves the great in-ring action while Raw is about the over-the-top superstars. Moving The Revival to SmackDown Live will put the best wrestling tag team on Raw on the brand that can use them the best.
It gives new matches with The Revival battling The Usos and The Bar and could freshen things up. The Revival is the exact sort of wrestlers that it seems Fox is looking for when it takes over SmackDown Live.
1 NEW DAY - RAW
The one faction that has to move before Fox takes over SmackDown Live is the New Day. They are a gimmick faction. Yes, all three men are great wrestlers. Kofi Kingston is one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE right now. Xavier Woods is highly underrated. Big E is a fantastic big man.
However, New Day is all about cosplay, throwing pancakes and talking about their Booty-O's. This is not what Fox is looking for according to reports and the New Day should be the first to leave SmackDown Live and head to Monday Night Raw during the 2019 Superstar Shake-Up.
