WWE had many different eras since it became a global product. When Hulk Hogan was in his prime, his era was called 'The Golden Era'. Likewise, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock thrived in the 'Attitude Era, which was widely regarded as the best era in the history of professional wrestling.
The Reality Era began in 2014, and it lasted two years. The company built some new stars in this era, including the likes of Charlotte Flair, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. Besides some great heel turns in this era, it also witnessed a couple of disastrous heel turns.
10 Paige
Paige was the primary name of the women's division in the Reality Era, winning the Divas Championship in her main roster debut. She'd later receive an additional reign with the Divas Title, accumulating two reigns in total. Paige was on top of the world during WWE's Reality Era. With that being said, her character went through a roller coaster ride in this time frame.
The British Superstar formed a women's stable by joining hands with two main roster newcomers, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Their three-woman group was known as PCB. However, she betrayed PCB when Charlotte won the Divas Championship. The heel turn didn't help her, and she went through a series of defeats afterward.
9 Big Show
Big Show had many heel turns in his career, and unsurprisingly, it also happened in the Reality Era. The World"s Largest Athlete was member of Team Cena at 2014 Survivor Series, where they faced Team Authority.
Cena was leading his team, but Big Show turned on him by knocking the former out. The unexpected betrayal eliminated Cena. Big Show, on the other hand, eliminated himself after walking out of the match. It was a meaningless heel turn because Team Cena still won the match, owing to help from Sting.
8 Natalya
Natalya turned into a manager in the early part of 2015, when she aligned herself with Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. The Usos, then the Tag Team Champions, lost to Kidd and Cesaro at Fastlane. The victory came when Natalya abducted her good girl persona by turning heel.
It was a meaningless heel turn, considering it didn't last long nor it elevated her position in the division. The brief heel run ended after an injury of Kidd, as he was taken off the TV with his real-life wife, Natalya.
7 Sheamus
Altering his look, Sheamus made come back from an injury in 2015. The new-look certainly made him look like a heel, and he didn't wait long to prove it by his actions. The Celtic Warrior turned a bad guy, joining hands with Wade Barrett and attacking Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler, who were babyfaces.
It was one of the worst heel runs in Sheamus' WWE career. WWE tried pushing him as WWE Champion, but he didn't succeed to build momentum and went back to mid-card.
6 Summer Rae
Summer Rae managed several male Superstars while she was in WWE, including the former US Champion Rusev. As a matter of fact, Rusev and Summer Rae started an on-screen relationship after the former parted ways from Lana, his previous manager.
The storyline took a bizarre turn when Rusev got engaged to his real-life partner, Lana, less than a week after accepting Rae's kayfabe marriage proposal on Monday Night Raw. In order to take vengeance, Rae turned on Rusev. Playing the role of a guest referee, Rae helped Ziggler to beat Rusev.
5 Nikki Bella
Stephanie McMahon decided to compete in the squared circle in 2014, nearly after a decade. The Billion Dollar Princess commenced an exciting feud with Brie Bella, and the two women clashed at the 2014 SummerSlam.
Nikki Bella did the unthinkable by turning on her own twin sister, Brie Bella. With the heel turn, Stephanie won the bout. The Bella Twins were really popular, and it wasn't a good idea to split them. Additionally, the third season of Total Divas, which had The Bella Twins, aired around that time. The timing of the heel turn wasn't suitable, nor did the rivalry between the twins lived up to the hype.
4 Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe, the veteran from TNA, was already in the spotlight when he signed for WWE. Joe debuted as a babyface in 2015, but he took little time to show his evil side. To pursue the NXT Championship, he turned on NXT Champion, Finn Balor.
Even though Joe created heat as a heel, he didn't taste much success in the initial days of that heel run. Finn Balor continued his impressive run as the NXT Champion. Joe had suffered a couple of losses and waited for six months before finally getting his hands on the NXT gold.
3 Jon Stewart
Jon Stewart was the celebrity host of the 2015 SummerSlam, which was stacked with some astounding matches. The WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins locked horns with the United States Champion, John Cena, and it was a 'Winner Takes All' match.
While the match was awe-inspiring, there was a major twist at the end of the bout. Pretending to assist John Cena, Jon Stewart came out with a steel chair. However, he shocked every single fan in the arena by hitting John Cena with the foreign object. It was a disappointing end of a great match.
2 Naomi & Tamina
While Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair were in PCB, Sasha Banks chose to be with Tamina and Naomi, making a new stable called Team B.A.D. They had an impressive run while feuding with The Bella Twins and PCB.
Banks wanted to stop associating with Team B.A.D., which wasn't taken well by the other two members. Naomi and Tamina attacked Banks, and The Boss became a babyface. Although it was beneficial for Banks, Tamina and Naomi didn't gain anything from the betrayal, and WWE didn't seem to have any significant plan for those two women.
1 Batista
Batista made a return to the ring as a babyface, but the fans didn't accept him in that role, owing to the soaring popularity of Daniel Bryan. The aversion for The Animal reached a boiling point when he won the 2014 Royal Rumble, and he was jeered badly at the end of the match.
Seeing no other option, Batista turned heel by taking on the WWE Universe. Neither the heel turn nor regrouping of Evolution changed his fortune. As a result, he departed within a few months after becoming a villain.
