WWE Relationships That Are Doomed To Fail Or Already Have

The rise of Total Divas and social media over the past few years has opened the doors to many relationships in the WWE becoming public over the past few years. Relationships in the wrestling world usually always happen because of convenience. These stars are working together or on the road for long periods of time, so the couples often think a relationship is appropriate.

Of course, many of these relationships become toxic quite fast and don't last very long. Life on the road can breed a whole host of problems and drama. Others manage to overcome the odds, only for the couple to realize that outside of the wrestling business, they have nothing in common. This could lead to resentment and some very messy breakups.

Over the past year alone a number of wrestling relationships have already reportedly broken down in some of the strangest ways and a number of other break-ups could be on the horizon in the coming months. The wrestling world is one that is full of unpredictability, but often times fans can predict which relationships will end simply because of how different the two (or sometimes more) people in them are.

The following list looks at eight relationships that have come to an end recently as well as eight that have been doomed to fail from the beginning. Some of these stars could have chosen the wrong partner to settle down with.

16 Broken Up: Nia Jax And Josh Woods

Nia Jax has risen through the ranks in WWE over the past few years and could be set to battle for the Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania next month, but while Nia's professional life is taking off, her personal life isn't. She was in a relationship with fellow wrestler Josh Woods back in 2015, but the duo has recently gone their separate ways.

Nia has become part of Total Divas for the latest season and was seen looking for a new boyfriend and then going to a speed dating place to then find another man. This wouldn't be something Nia would do if she was still in a relationship. Jax is a beautiful woman and hopefully, she is able to bounce back from this.

15 Doomed: Paige And Kalan Blehm

Paige's previous relationship with Alberto Del Rio has already been documented above, but the former Divas Champion has already been able to move on to a new relationship, this time with the bassist of Attila, Kalan Blehm.

Paige has quite a history of dating band members with Emarosa lead singer Bradley Walden being featured as Paige's partner on Total Divas as well as her relationship with A Day To Remember guitarist Kevin Skaff. She has quite the dating resume and it is filled with musicians, which means that Kalan is probably just another name on that list. Paige made it clear that she wasn't ready to settle down when Kevin proposed on Total Divas, is it possible that she's changed since her relationship with Del Rio became serious quite fast?

14 Broken Up: Big Cass And Carmella

This is one of the most recent break-ups on this list since it was only revealed this year that Big Cass and Carmella had opted to go their separate ways. The couple had only recently been added to the cast of Total Divas and had been dating since their time together in NXT where Carmella worked as the manager for both Big Cass and Enzo Amore.

Carmella explained that the breakup came because Cass was hit quite hard by his recent knee injury and her sister got it into her head that Cass was going to propose and she believed it. The couple were obviously in two different places in their relationship and had only recently bought a house together, which made their break up even more heartbreaking for the WWE Universe.

13 Doomed: Cathy Kelley And Finn Balor

Cathy Kelley is WWE's Social Media Correspondent who is often seen on their Youtube channel summarising the action for the past week in WWE. It has been rumored for a while now that Cathy and former Universal Champion Finn Balor are a couple, but the duo are yet to confirm it.

Kelley has been dropping hints for a while on her Instagram page, but Balor is a very private person when it comes to his relationships and he isn't ready to reveal that he's in a relationship since he's aware of how popular he is and how the WWE Universe might react. Dean Ambrose and Renee Young proved that sometimes the WWE Universe can go a little bit far which will definitely cause these two problems in the future.

12 Broken Up: Kelly Kelly And Sheldon Souray

Kelly Kelly is now a WWE ambassador after spending a number of years in the Women's Division. She is a former Divas Champion but left the WWE back in 2012 when it was revealed that she had plans to become a model.

Kelly met former ice hockey player Sheldon Souray a year later and the couple was then engaged back in 2014 and married in February 2016. Their marriage didn't manage to last very long since it was revealed last fall that the couple had split. Kelly has been present on WWE TV recently as part of the first ever Women's Royal Rumble and could return to be part of the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal next month as well. Kelly has thrown herself back into training to deal with her recent divorce.

11 Doomed: Tye Dillinger And Peyton Royce

Tye Dillinger and Peyton Royce are another couple who met in NXT and have been able to hide their relationship from the WWE Universe ever since. The couple had been dating for more than two years before they revealed that they were in a relationship but now they have been split up with Dillinger on SmackDown Live and Royce currently on NXT.

It won't be long before Royce is promoted to the Raw roster and then much like a number of other couples like Emma and Zack Ryder, the brand split will become a huge problem for them. Royce was originally rumoured to be heading to the main roster as part of The Royal Rumble, but her recent breast enhancement surgery has put her back a few months.

10 Broken Up: Jennifer Hudson And David Otunga

Jennifer Hudson is a star in her own right after her stint on American Idol and starring role in Dreamgirls, but the singer has been in a relationship with WWE star David Otunga ever since 2008. The couple became engaged just seven months after they met and have a son together, who was born in 2009.

Even though they have been engaged for almost a decade, the couple never showed any intentions to marry and in November 2017 it was revealed that the couple had been in the process of splitting for a number of months. The split was less than amicable with Hudson filing a protective order against Otunga but this was later dismissed and the former lawyer was given primary custody of his son who is also called David.

9 Doomed: Alexa Bliss And Buddy Murphy

Alexa Bliss and Buddy Murphy have been together since their time in NXT where Bliss helped Murphy and his partner Wesley Blake to win the Tag Team Championships for the first and only time. Alexa has since been promoted to the main roster and has become a stand out star as a former SmackDown Women's Champion and the current Raw Women's Champion.

Buddy has been able to resurface on 205 Live recently looking like he has been putting the hours in at the gym, but the couple have still had a number of issues as documented on Total Divas where Alexa was worried that Murphy was going to have to go back to Australia and even Alexa's best friend Nia Jax doesn't think that the couple has a solid future together either.

8 Broken Up: Kaitlyn And PJ Braun

Any wrestling fan who has been watching WWE over the past decade will remember Kaitlyn as the former Divas Champion who won the only ever all-female season of NXT back in 2010. Kaitlyn went on to have a mildly successful career until she asked for her release in 2014 to pursue other career opportunities and to get married.

Kaitlyn's marriage obviously didn't last very long, since the star revealed that she had filed for divorce last year and was then part of what looked like a messy split. She has since been able to return to the ring and has started a number of rumours linking her to a return to the company since she has remained in incredible shape and arguably looks much better now then she did when she was wrestling for WWE.

7 Doomed: John Cena And Nikki Bella

John Cena and Nikki Bella have been a couple now for almost six years and it's only recently that Cena has decided to propose to Nikki, who has been pressuring him into marriage ever since they met. Cena didn't want to remarry after his messy divorce from his ex-wife merely months before he started a relationship with Nikki, but she has finally changed his mind.

The couple has been engaged now for almost a year and the wedding is still not being planned since there are a number of reports about Cena and him getting cold feet. The duo has clashed so many times when it comes to their future plans and wanting children and at some point this relationship could turn toxic.

6 Broken Up: Liv Morgan And Enzo Amore

Liv Morgan is now a SmackDown superstar and one-third of The Riott Squad, but when she first came into WWE and was part of the NXT set up, Liv was in a relationship with former Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore.

Liv and Enzo met when they were both working at Hooters and it is reported that it was Enzo who helped Liv to secure a WWE tryout, which allowed them to then work together. The couple had been in a lengthy relationship until it was revealed last year that Enzo had cheated on Liv with a stripper, something that Corey Graves all but confirmed on commentary for Monday Night Raw. Liv has since moved on to a relationship with former WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate while Enzo Amore was recently released from the company.

5 Doomed: Seth Rollins And Sarah Alesandrelli

Seth Rollins is currently one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE, but his personal life is in much worse shape than his professional one. Rollins' personal life became the topic for conversation back in 2015 when it was revealed that the former Shield member had been cheating on his fiancee and girlfriend of five years Leighla Schultz with NXT star Zahra Schreiber.

Rollins and Schultz went their separate ways after this and Schreiber and the former World Champion then became an official couple. Of course, this didn't last very long before it was revealed less than a year later that the couple had split since Schrieber had been released from WWE at this point. Rollins has been part of a number of scandals with the WWE Universe in the past few years where he has been arranging meetings with fans, but he has been in a relationship with former bartender Sarah Alesandrelli over the past few months, a relationship that is definitely destined to fail.

4 Broken Up: Alberto Del Rio And Paige

Paige and Alberto Del Rio revealed that they were a couple back in the spring of 2016, the duo were then suspended from WWE together in the summer, before Paige underwent neck surgery, her personal videos and images were made public and it was revealed that Del Rio was still married so even though he was engaged to Paige, he was unable to actually marry her.

Del Rio had also been in a relationship with Charlotte before he moved on to Paige, which all added to some of the reasons why many thought that this relationship wouldn't work out. Paige returned to WWE back in November and she left Del Rio behind, the couple is reportedly still close friends, but decided to go their separate ways in the fall of 2017.

3 Doomed: Lana And Rusev

Lana is a former dancer and actress who came to WWE back in 2013 when she auditioned for the Diva Search that was won by JoJo Offerman and Eva Marie. Lana was then signed by the company despite not winning and aligned with Rusev in NXT. The couple later became a couple in real life as well before they were promoted to the main roster and their relationship became public knowledge.

Even though they are now married, Rusev and Lana are very different. Their families and their beliefs are completely different as well as their ideas for their future. The couple has been seen fighting a number of times on Total Divas about wanting children and this argument could begin to have much more impact in the coming years.

2 Broken Up: Bray Wyatt And Samantha Rotunda

One of the biggest break-ups of 2017 surrounds the Eater of Worlds Bray Wyatt, and his wife of five years Samantha Rotunda. The duo married back in 2012 before Wyatt began his rise through the ranks in WWE and have two daughters together, but Wyatt had been having an affair with WWE ring announcer JoJo Offerman for an undisclosed amount of time and that then led to his wife filing for divorce.

Bray and JoJo are yet to officially make any sort of statement when it comes to their relationship, but Wyatt's marriage is now officially over and he is rumoured to be in a relationship with Offerman, since his ex-wife recently accused him of spending the money that was supposed to be paid as child support, on his new girlfriend.

Bray Wyatt's five-year marriage broke down back in 2017 because of his affair with JoJo Offerman and while the wrestling world has moved on since the affair was revealed, Wyatt's ex-wife could be a problem for the new couple.

Bray and JoJo still haven't confirmed that they are in a relationship or that there was an affair, it is Wyatt's ex-wife Samantha Rotunda who has made it public that her husband cheated on her and continues to slate the duo on Instagram. Most recently she accused her husband of not paying child support because he was buying his new girlfriend lavish gifts. How long can Bray and JoJo continue to live with their personal life being made public knowledge? Bray needs a push in WWE and that won't happen while his personal life is being hung out to dry.
