WWE has reportedly renewed the contracts of the 'big five' Superstars that they signed on the back of last year's United Kingdom Title tournament.

In January of 2017 WWE staged a pretty successful two day tournament in Blackpool, England to crown their first ever United Kingdom Champion. Despite being just nineteen years of age at the time, Tyler Bate was the last man standing in the contest but he was one of many names that really shone across the weekend.

Ever since then a number of the wrestlers who performed in the tournament have been making semi-regular appearances on various WWE shows. Mainly NXT but also 205 Live and Pete Dunne even wrestled on Raw when the flagship show last aired in the UK. Initially though there was talk of the British WWE Superstars getting their very own show but those rumors seem to have died down somewhat.

However recent reports via Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer suggest that something might very well be in the pipeline. There are some select British stars that are referred to as WWE's 'big five' and they have appeared more than the others on WWE television in the last year. Those stars are Dunne, Bate, Mark Andrews, Wolfgang and Trent Seven. According to Meltzer they have all been offered new and improved contracts by WWE.

The exact details of the contracts aren't known at this moment in time but there are reports at least one of the five Superstars is now being paid more than twice as much as he was previously. It still seems that the general agreement will remain the same for now though, that being all of the UK stars who were signed on the back of last year's tournament can continue to take independent bookings.

Whether WWE do push forward with a British show or not it certainly seems like some of the UK stars have a bright future. Triple H appears to have taken a shine to Pete Dunne in particular and considering how talented Tyler Bate is at such a young age means he will likely be a WWE Superstar for years to come. As for the others though they will likely have their fingers crossed for a UK show as that may be the only way they stay with WWE for the long haul.
