Rumor had it that Paige was supposed to return to action during WWE's UK tour, but kept Paige hasn't appeared on WWE programming in over a year, as a pair of suspensions for violating the company's wellness policy and neck surgery have kept her out of action
However, some may have been confused as to why WWE wouldn't bring back Paige during its European tour. She is a native of the United Kingdom, and it would have made sense to have her return in front of her own country.
Well, Phillipa Hopwood of StillRealToUs.com speculates that the WWE wants Paige to return as a heel. Last week's episode of Monday Night Raw happened in Manchester, so Paige would have likely received loud cheers from the folks of her native England. The heel return simply wouldn't have cut it.

Hopwood also noted that it's possible Paige could interfere in the Triple Threat match between Bayley, Dana Brooke, and Mickie James on Monday. Those three are competing for the final spot on Team Raw at in the women's five-on-five interbrand Survivor Series match.

Paige last appeared in WWE on the June 27, 2016, episode of Monday Night Raw, where her and Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte and Dana Brooke in a tag team match. She was previously a two-time Divas Champion and cemented herself as one of the top female superstars in the company.
But as noted above, Paige had a number of issues that stalled her career. The two suspensions and neck surgery kept her out for nearly 18 months. She also had a controversial relationship with Alberto Del Rio. This included an incident at Orlando airport where police recommended battery charges against Paige. It was announced earlier this week that Paige and Del Rio had ended their relationship.
So for Paige, fans can only hope that her return to the ring—heel or babyface—will be a smooth one. The past year has been hard on her, but she has the chance to redeem her career with another strong run.
