WWE Rumor: Another Women's First Planned For 2018

The women of WWE have enjoyed a multitude of firsts over the past year and a half, and now yet another might be in the works.

It really is hard to pinpoint exactly where the current women's revolution going on across all of WWE truly began. What we can pinpoint are a few landmark moments within it, namely some of the firsts the women have achieved in that time. The first ever time females stepped inside Hell In A Cell plus two women's Money In The Bank matches to name just two.

WWE seems to want to keep those firsts coming while there are still things to tick off too. Last week, Paige returned to television and five brand new women from NXT debuted across Raw and SmackDown Live. One theory behind the bulk call-ups is that WWE needs women on the main roster so that they can stage the first ever female Royal Rumble in a couple of months time.

The influx of females may not only be for a Royal Rumble match either. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, just a few short weeks after a potential women's Royal Rumble Raw's females may compete inside the Elimination Chamber for the first time. The demonic structure is due to return to WWE on Feb. 25, 2018, during the build to WrestleMania and may very well feature a chamber match with the likes of Alexa Bliss and Sonya Deville inside of it.

Rumors like these ones were exactly that— just rumors. Nowadays though, WWE has proven that they are not afraid to feature their female Superstars in even the most brutal of matches, so why not an Elimination Chamber? It will also give Raw's women the chance to go down in history. Last year's Money In The Bank pay-per-view was a SmackDown Live exclusive so the likes of Nia Jax and Sasha Banks didn't even get a look in. The chamber show being Raw only will give Team Red a chance to turn the tables.

It's all well and good pointing out that WWE's women keep performing first after first, but what's important is that every woman involved is hitting each opportunity out of the park. Charlotte and Sasha's Hell In A Cell was great, and both of last year's Money In The Bank ladder matches were very memorable. If there is going to be a female Elimination Chamber then the ladies involved will have hard acts to follow, but they should be in no doubt that they have the ability and the potential to pull it off.
